Just Show Me Mid Wales Cottages
For a magical blend of coast and countryside, our cottages in
Mid Wales are hard to beat. Such spectacular scenery has been
granted National Park status in Snowdonia (also see North Wales)
and the Brecon Beacons, attracting enthusiasts of outdoor pursuits
and artists alike. In Southern Snowdonia, discover majestic
mountains like the Rhinogs and Cadair Idris, as well as the scenic
estuaries of Mawddach and Dyfi. For woodlands, waterfalls,
wilderness and caves, the Brecon Beacons beg to be explored,
whether you prefer to lace up or saddle up - on a bike or a horse!
Pause for refreshments and a spot of shopping in Brecon or
Crickhowell or browse the many bookshops of Hay-On-Wye.
Swap countryside for coastline and discover the delights of
Cardigan Bay, a playground for walkers along the coastal path,
wildlife watchers (look out for dolphins and porpoises) and
families seeking a relaxing Mid Wales cottage holiday on a Blue
Flag beach. Much of the region is a designated Heritage Coast, so
expect plenty of gorgeous scenery and a scattering of picturesque,
colourful resorts such as Aberdovey, Aberaeron, Barmouth and New
Quay. Enjoy all kinds of water sports and sensational seafood. Head
inland to farming country, a land of sheep, Welsh Black cattle and
a patchwork of traditional towns and villages.
What else? Castles, art galleries, steam trains, inky-blue lakes
like Bala and Vyrnwy, Red Kites, slate mines and more. So much to
see, so much to do when you stay in a Mid Wales cottage!
