Coast Path. Cyclists can peddle their way through Swaledale,
Wensleydale and Coverdale along the Yorkshire Dales Cycleway, while
golfing, horse riding and fishing are also popular.
Make food shopping a pleasure at Barnard Castle, Reeth,
Richmond, Hawes, Leyburn or Middleham, bustling with activity come
market day. Picture-postcard villages, recognised for their warm
hospitality, dot the countryside. Explore them on foot and enjoy
their delightfully slow pace, breaking for refreshments at the
local watering hole.
The Dales are proud of their culture and heritage, portrayed in
a number of ways, from breweries and theatre, to folk museums and
magnificent monuments (Raby Castle and Jervaulx Abbey just two

extraordinary labyrinth of surprises voted best children's
attraction in Yorkshire - and it's easy to see why so many
people fall under the area's magical spell.
