Just Show Me Ross On Wye Cottages
With its dramatic setting high on a sandstone ledge above the River Wye, Ross-on-Wye is a fascinating market town popular with holiday-makers year round.
Make yourself at home in your Ross-on-Wye cottage then take time to potter about this delightful town. Follow its medieval street plan along Broad Street and High Street, and admire the wealth of quaint half-timbered buildings. Relax in the riverside gardens of Wilton Castle. Ponder in a pew of St. Mary's Church, its attractive spire a prominent landmark for miles around. And learn all about the town's and region's history through interactive displays at the Market House Visitor Centre. Just outside is Market Place, where you'll find a general market every Thursday and Saturday, as well as a monthly farmers' market. There are also some lovely shops to browse and find keepsakes.
As you might expect, our Ross-on-Wye cottages are ideal for all kinds of river activities from rafting and canoeing to rowing and fishing. But that's not all. Walking, cycling, riding, golf - there's a whole stack of activities to enjoy.
Expect glorious scenery all around as you explore the Wye Valley and Brecon Beacons. Gaze in awe at the remarkable limestone gorge of Symonds Yat, or head a little further afield into the Forest of Dean or Malvern Hills. Look out for sites of historic interest such as Goodrich Castle, a splendid sandstone keep blessed with amazing views across the Wye Valley. Or soak up the views from a hot-air balloon - the ultimate treat when you stay in a Ross-on-Wye cottage!
