Just show me Grosmont Cottages
Please find below a selection of self catering holiday cottages in Grosmont.
Fancy some serious R&R? Then consider a stay in a Grosmont
holiday cottage in the heart of the Esk Valley.
The sleepy village of Grosmont snuggles in this beautiful vale
amid the breathtaking North York Moors National Park. Local
amenities include a couple of small shops providing everyday needs,
a café and a pub. There's also a National Park Information
Point in the village - great for details of local walks etc.
Proud of its fascinating industrial past, Grosmont was
originally built for the railway workers back in the mid 19th
Century. The line has since been transformed into the North York
Moors Steam Railway, meticulously run by a team of enthusiasts.
This wonderful railway is one of the highlights of a stay in a
Grosmont cottage and the 18-mile journey between Grosmont and
Pickering is one of the best ways to view the stunning National
Park, passing through wooded valleys, over heather-clad moorland
and calling in at pretty villages. It's also a great way for
walkers and cyclists to access both the countryside and coast. If
you fancy more of a leisurely walk, try 'The Rail Trail'
from Goathland to Grosmont, which combines a ride on the train with
a three-and-a-half-mile walk.
There are lots of lovely places to visit nearby, including the
historic seaside resort of Whitby just five miles away.
So if you fancy a quiet, relaxing break in the countryside
that's within easy reach of the coast, a Grosmont cottage
holiday could be the answer.
