Just Show Me Port Isaac Cottages
As you listen to Friday evening's rousing shanties of the Fishermen's Friends, you'll be so pleased you chose a Port Isaac cottage for this year's holiday. In fact, they might be your main reason for coming here, a ten-strong line-up of pals, known far and wide for their joyful renditions of popular folk songs. Or will it be the setting that attracts you, the village that's become famous as the backdrop for the comedy capers of Martin Clunes in Doc Martin? One thing's for certain, Port Isaac is truly delightful.
Explore Port Isaac's hidden backwaters, a warren of twisting lanes or 'drangs' crammed with old, whitewashed cottages - look out for 'Squeeze Belly Alley', thought to be the world's narrowest street and once the retreat for contraband. Linger at the harbour and watch local fishermen land their daily catch. Enjoy a scenic cruise along north Cornwall's rugged coast. Stride out along the coastal path. Surf amazing rollers at Polzeath, four miles away. If you've booked a pet friendly Port Isaac cottage, next door to Polzeath is Daymer Bay - fantastic for families and romps with 'Scamp' on a huge expanse of sand. Rent a bike and cycle the Camel Trail. Play golf at St. Enodoc. At mealtimes, check out Port Isaac's restaurants and pubs or grill fish over coals in your garden.
If you're planning a trip to the south west and not sure where to stay, somewhere quintessentially Cornish, with atmosphere, scenery and more, our Port Isaac cottages will bowl you over!
