Just five miles from Truro, our holiday cottages in Probus are suitably placed for exploring both south and north coasts of this picturesque county.
Local delights include a village pub serving home-cooked food, a licensed restaurant, a farm shop offering local meats, vegetables and deli counter, traditional fish and chips and an antiques emporium.
Attractions near our Probus holiday rentals
The imposing 16th century church of St. Probus is a fascinating building, adorned with intricate stone carvings inside and out and featuring a tower over 120 ft tall.
Nearby Truro is home to Cornwall's only cathedral, as well as shops and restaurants, twice weekly farmers' markets, cinema, local theatre and golf course.
Tour the region's famous gardens - the privately owned Trewithen Estate (open in summer) is just at the edge of the village and so within walking distance of some of our Probus holiday homes. Further afield but an easy drive there's the sub-tropical gardens of Trebah, Trengwainton, Glendurgan, Heligan, Trelissick and the Eden Project.
Enjoy a family stroll along the banks of the River Tresillian or head to the coast for cliff-top rambles along the South West Coast Path. Swap boots for flip-flops! A self-catering break in Probus means you'll be spoilt for choice with beaches. Head north for incredible surf (Fistral, Watergate Bay, Rock, Polzeat, Porthminster, Perranporth etc), or south for the sandy beaches and calmer seas of the English Channel.
Make a day of it and explore the stunning Roseland Peninsula, brimming with scenic delights, quaint fishing villages and idyllic coves.
Then return to your Probus holiday cottage for a relaxing evening with family or friends.
