Fancy an island escape? Our Purbeck holiday cottages can do just that...well almost! Virtually surrounded by water, the peninsula of Purbeck boasts wonderful views across The Channel. It's a delightful place to discover - the magical ruins of Corfe Castle at its centre, a good handful of picturesque villages and traditional seaside resorts, not to mention gorgeous stretches of beach like Studland Bay.
If it's good enough for Blyton's 'Famous Five', it's good enough for the rest of us, with plenty on offer for the whole family. Think buckets and spades on Swanage's Blue Flag beach. Enjoy romps with your hound on the sweeping sands of Studland Beach, or cheeky encounters with chimps at Monkey World. Check out a whole stack of armoured vehicles at The Tank Museum. Ride tractors at Farmer Palmers; gleaming carriages on the Swanage Railway. Take a boat trip along the coast. Get fit in Purbeck! Lace up those boots and walk the coastal path along Dorset's Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site - don't miss Lulworth Cove (with Heritage Centre) and Durdle Door. Or pedal the 'Purbeck Ride' following a 47-mile route around the region - that's less than seven miles a day if you book a holiday home in Purbeck for a week. Or opt for the much shorter Sika Cycle Trail in Wareham Forest. And, as you're on a peninsula, expect water sports galore!
