Pwllheli is a lively town, offering a variety of entertainment, shops and dining venues. It's possibly best known for its Wednesday market and, more recently, for its world-class marina. Boating and wildlife enthusiasts may be interested in chartering a luxury cruise along the coast, often escorted by dolphins and visiting seal and sea-bird colonies. Less expensive options to take in the scenery include walks along the Coastal Path, or hikes to the top of Garn Bentyrch.
For bathing and water sports, South Beach is a three-mile stretch of sand and shingle to the west, while Glandon Beach is a long sandy sweep to the east. There's also a promenade - ideal for evening strolls.
If you play golf, a unique golfing experience awaits...not only will you discover breathtaking views across Cardigan Bay, but also both links and parkland holes!
Just four miles away is Glasfryn Parc, featuring a go-kart circuit, quad bikes, fishing, archery, bowling alley and soft indoor play centre for tots. Make a day of it and take a picnic, or enjoy a tasty homemade treat at the café. And don't forget to stop at the farm shop, specialising in delicious local produce.
Or have a peek inside Wales' oldest art gallery in nearby Llanbedrog, Oriel Plas Glyn-y-Weddw, showcasing an eclectic menu of exhibitions inside an exquisite Victorian Gothic mansion.
