Expect wonderful seascapes and a relaxing ambience, whether you opt for the cliff-side fishing community of Lower Sheringham or Upper Sheringham just inland. Both villages make the perfect base for lovers of walking, riding and cycling, with miles of way-marked trails. Or climb aboard the North Norfolk Railway and journey by steam through some of East Anglia's finest landscapes to the historic town of Holt.
Hungry? Watch local fishermen land their catch then sample crabs, cockles and jellied eels straight from the fish stalls. Or savour tasty fish and chips or a dressed crab salad in one of the many pubs or restaurants. And if you're holidaying with children, don't forget the ice-cream parlours.
For entertainment of various kinds, check out Sheringham Little Theatre. Delve back in time at The Mo, Sheringham Museum. Admire the coastal views and explore acres of woodland at Sheringham Park. Have fun at Priory Maze and Gardens. Or simply relax on Sheringham's award-wining sands, bucket and spade in hand.
Annual events include the Potty Festival, when Morris dancers gather with bells and handkerchiefs for the ultimate dancing weekend. Equally unique is the legendary 'Crustacean Crawl' of giant crabs and lobsters at the Cromer & Sheringham Crab and Lobster Festival. There's also an annual town carnival and outdoor theatre at Sheringham Park.
