  • "I have already recommended Glan y Mor to 2 friends for next year."

The house is delightful. The view absolutely amazing. We saw porpoises, seals, divers, swimmers and kayakers. Lots of lovely places to visit on Anglesey. Great for walkers along the coastal paths. I recommend Rib Riding along the Menai Straits a great challenge for me at 78 years of age.

You need transport to get anywhere, bus service very poor. We had a lovely time, enjoying the walks and peaceful atmosphere. The views from the house are beautiful, plenty of activity to watch on the water, people swimming boat launches paddle boarders etc. Best kitted out kitchen we have ever experienced, the only gripe would be not enough cups/mugs and probably another TV. The beds were fine the duvets too heavy for me, mine is 1.5 tog all year round. All in all a great house and a fine holiday. Some fine dining to be had a short drive away about 40 mins.

  • "Glan - Y - Mor is fabulous."

It's so quirky, we sat in the gallery room and spotted 'new' things that we hadn't noticed the day before - we could've happily squatted !! That said it's highly unlikely we will be back and that's sad and sickens us. The biggest bonus is the on site parking - it's truly a Godsend. Weekends are horrendous, there's a stretch of road where people can park and from early morning until 6pmish there's a constant stream of car door banging and 'meeting up'. Sadly week days are pretty similar with the walkers and rowers still in evidence. Not so good when there are minimum parking spots and while these Guys park up for the day the 'stop of for an hour and stretch my legs Guys' don't stand a chance - marking parking meters? After all the 'long stay' parkers don't benefit the local economy any more that a short stay visitor. We wondered why the master bedroom was on the back away from the fabulous views - now we know. That said I'd adore Christmas in that place!!! It's well worth a look-see just don't expect peace. We've stayed in Bull Bay and if I could have moved Glan -Y-Mor brick by brick up onto the main road ......... In conclusion, thank you Owners for sharing you can't change anything I've criticised, your house is amazing and the Gallery room is sensational when the crowds have gone. Stay safe Meg and Dave

The views are amazing too. The family enjoyed the library of the cottage with so much history and great variety. We visited many beaches in the area - which are also stunning. The friendliest ladies in Wales work in Blueberries cafe where we enjoyed the best cakes, paninis and salad, it is a local gem. On the whole we all loved our holiday at this delightful home. the downside was the cleanliness when arriving. they have altered access times for covid this did not reflect on the cleanliness. under the beds were filthy childrens socks covered in dust childs toys left under bed from previous occupants also covered in dust,in the toilet spider & spiders web with insects, in the second bedroom the bed was on the small side for a couple, the flooring was worse than a old hotel for noise, the noise in the main bedroom from the fridge should be addressed would i return in a flash. the best holiday ever the dolphins put in appearance each day, the seal on the point ,heron for its daily feed, boats being launched each day, fantastic house in fantastic location, will be back next year, if still available. I hope the cleaning problem is addressed before i return.

Collected at 5 instead of 3. There was hardly any soap in the upstairs loo and no toilet paper in the downstairs loo. There were lots of crumbs under the sofas and patches of the wooden floor were dusty. I would however book again but I did feel the house was feeling sorry for itself and not a patch on our first year. We have stayed here three successive years. Also the period booked was cheaper than June, but we weren't refunded any money.

  • "We loved this holiday home from the moment we stepped out of our car."

It's location, just across the road from the beach at Bull Bay, is perfect and the 'upside down' layout of the house enabled us to watch dolphins, porpoise and even jumping fish from the huge windows and the two balconies. The open plan design makes the house feel huge and we had so much space. The views meant that the TV was only used after dark and it felt very restful to spend time gazing out to sea, reading or just chatting. The bedrooms are spacious, with two benefitting from sea views and the third a very large master with a huge amount of storage space. The bathroom has a lovely freestanding bath and a huge shower cubicle, with a very efficient shower. The extra toilet upstairs was useful too. The kitchen was well equipped, with an excellent range cooker, dishwasher and large fridge/freezer. The biscuits left for our arrival were an appreciated surprise. Bull Bay is a great place for spotting porpoise and Risso's dolphins (in September/October). We had some great sightings close to shore and spent many hours perched on the rocks off the coast path taking photos and enjoying these magnificent creatures. We had a great holiday on Anglesey and this extra special holiday home was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be returning to Glan Y Mor!

However a few minor comments for the owners to consider: On all other similar holidays we have always had a welcome pack. Provision of soap in the upstairs loo would also be helpful. Spare rubbish bags would also be helpful.

All facilities were perfect. The only suggestion I would make is that the cleaning was not top notch - ie there was a little dust in places and cobwebs. The kitchen and bathrooms though were very clean. However I do not consider this bad enough to complain. We really thought the cottage was beautiful and had a lovely stay. Particularly enjoyed the 1000 piece jigsaw the owners left for us to complete - we did it.

The property

This superb detached cottage is set on the seafront in the picturesque Bull Bay cove, near to Amlwch, on the north coast of Anglesey.

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this cottage could not be in a more prominent and spectacular beachside location.

Built by the current owners, Glan y Mor has been appointed to a high standard throughout, and offers luxurious upside down living to provide unbeatable sea views from the main living area, a double aspect sitting room with two separate balconies looking out onto the Irish Sea.

Stairs lead off the hall to the spacious first floor open plan living room, with galleried ceiling, oak beams and bespoke chandeliers, married with designer radiators, oak flooring and leather sofas, to create a stylish and welcoming area to sit and socialise.

Dine in style overlooking the bay, and prepare delicious home-cooked meals to eat on the balcony whilst watching the changing colours on the sea as the sun sets.

The three ground floor bedrooms have been carefully styled to provide the same level of finish as upstairs, with a twin and double room overlooking the cove and a master bedroom with fully-fitted wardrobes and a king-size bed to the rear.

The rear patio is a sheltered sun trap with slate chippings and a patio area, with bench seating under the front covered veranda, where you can sit with your favourite tipple, watching the world go by.

There is parking for 3 cars or watercraft, and with the beach and launching slipway just across the harbour road the location is perfect.

The Anglesey Coastal Path meanders past the property opening up miles of unspoilt coastline, clifftop walks and hidden coves, and the popular Bull Bay Golf Club is a short stroll past the Trecastell Hotel and bar, with the ever popular Bull Bay Hotel less than a half minute walk in the other direction.

A wonderful property in an enviable seaside location, which will have you returning time and time again.

About the location

BULL BAY

Amlwch 1.5 miles.

Bull Bay, or Porth Llechog in Welsh, which means "sheltered bay", is a picturesque seaside village on the northern coast of the Isle of Anglesey. It is the most northerly village in Wales, and boasts wonderful coastal scenery, with the island of East Mouse lying within the bay, which is rocky, shingly and offers rockpools for shrimping and crabbing. The village has a hotel with restaurant and bar, an excellent golf course, wonderful scenic walks along the renowned Anglesey Coastal Path and exciting fishing and bird watching. 1.5 miles east is the old port of Amlwch, and Parys Mountain, where visitors can enjoy the Copper Mine Trail Walk amidst the old ruins of what was once the world's largest copper mine in the 18th century. Amlwch's harbour dates back to the Middle Ages, and once was a thriving port. Enjoy the medieval town of Beaumaris, with its 13th century moated castle, museums, excellent shops, pubs and restaurants, a sea zoo, Plas Newydd mansion, or take a day trip into Snowdonia, or visit Dublin from the nearby port of Holyhead.
