cottages near Wrest Park
Ever wondered what the prettiest country estate in the UK is?
Well you may have just found it! Nestled in the heart of
Bedfordshire, Wrest Park and Gardens is a striking 92 acre estate,
consisting of an 18th century French-style mansion and
its accompanying formal gardens. The English Heritage acquired the
site in 2006 and has since planned a 20 year, multi-million pound
restoration programme for the property and its gardens, whose
treasures have been left overgrown for decades. Now almost fully
restored, why not come see the fruits of all that labour on your
next cottage holiday in Bedfordshire? We're sure you'll
love what they've done with the place!

design.
There's more to Wrest Park than beautiful gardens
Architecture enthusiasts will be in their element at Wrest Park
too. The park boasts some seriously sumptuous French design,
commissioned by the estate's former owner, Thomas De Grey in
1834. Explore the stunning French-style Orangery which was once
used to house De Grey's orange trees through the winter months,
and discover the lavish statues that are dotted charmingly
throughout the park.
Walk the historic pathways, gaze at the sculptures within the Dairy
Gallery and relax on a bench beside Thomas Archer's garden
pavilion. There is so much to see and do in Wrest Park, so be sure
to add a trip to this fantastic estate to your next cottage holiday
agenda!
