It is hard to think of a better family friendly holiday destination in the UK than the beautiful isle of Anglesey. Situated on the western tip of North Wales, the stunning scenery, beautiful clean beaches and the laid back way of life have been attracting families to the area for years, establishing the island as a firm family favourite.

Anglesey is easy to reach from the north west of England. The A55 takes you along the North Wales coastline, then across the Britannia Bridge, crossing the Menai Strait and onto the picture perfect holiday island of Anglesey. So get mum, dad and the kids in the car and set off on your Welsh holiday adventure! As you make your way across the island, watch the perfect patchwork of green rolling landscape pass you by. Then, head off the beaten track and onto the winding narrow lanes that epitomise the island, across little bridges and along to your family holiday cottage in Anglesey.

Anglesey – the perfect place for a family walk

Anglesey is a lovely place for enjoying a family walk. Although taking on the whole 124 miles of the Anglesey Coastal Path may be a little too much, the coastal paths provide relatively flat walking opportunities that are great for a family day out. Rhoscolyn on the north west of Anglesey is a particularly lovely place to head to. What could be better? Sit amongst the sand dunes and marshes and enjoy a family picnic. The kids will be in their element on their very own private beach.

Stunning Anglesey beaches that the kids will love!

One of the most popular beaches in Anglesey is Trearddur Bay. This stunning bay has been a tourist hotspot for years and it’s so easy to see why. On a warm day, the beautiful sandy beach is packed with families making the most of the sunshine. The sand is lovely and clean and the shallow sea is a great place for the children to paddle. Just bring along your buckets and spades and your beach mats and you are all set for a lovely day on the beach. There are plenty of places where you can buy an ice cream, then just lie back whilst the kids play in the sand and watch the sea glistening on the horizon.

It’s great news too if you are bringing the family pet on holiday with you to Anglesey. Most of the beach at Trearddur Bay is dog friendly and there are lots of dog friendly holiday cottages in Anglesey to choose from too!
