For the December’s Owner Q&A we have a message from CEO, Graham Donoghue. He will be talking about how our owners have helped make 2019 a great year for Sykes Holiday Cottages, and the plans for 2020.
Hi, I’m Graham Donoghue, the CEO of Sykes Holiday Cottages.
Once again I want to thank you for another fantastic year of working hard to deliver great experiences to all of our customers.
You’ve really gone the extra mile for our customers and we’ve seen some great reviews that reflect this.
Together this year, we’ve taken 1.24 million adults, 123 thousand children and 161 thousand pets on holiday, exceeding our target of taking 1.5 million people on holiday.
We’ve welcomed 200 members of staff this year, which takes us to over 650, the business is growing rapidly and all of our employees are working really hard to market your property, maximise your bookings and provide you with the best service possible.
We also welcomed colleagues from overseas as Sykes went international and invested in leading holiday rental business in New Zealand, Bachcare.
They manage over 2,000 properties in more than 150 locations, serving more than 150,000 customers a year.
The team will support our ambitious growth strategy and have helped us take our first step in to international growth.
Our colleagues have raised £10,000 by hosting fancy dress, competitions, casino nights, bike rides and more for our nominated charity, Mind, who support and raise vital awareness for mental health. Sykes promised to match the amount, bringing the total to £20,000!
We finished the financial year with a Net Promoter Score of 74, an amazing score that proves that the level of customer service offered from you and all the Sykes staff keep us as one of the industry leaders
We are thrilled to have won the award for the Best Cottage Holiday Company at the British Travel Awards for the 7th year running. We couldn’t have done it without all of your hard work.
What do we have planned for 2020? We want to grow our marketing and increase the how much we advertise your property, so that we can take over 1.86 million people on holiday.
We’re also going to invest in more people so that we can continue to provide great experiences for our customers and owners.
