There are 16 bodies of water flowing in the area, but only Bassenthwaite Lake has the name \u2018lake\u2019 in it.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>2. It rains. In fact, the hamlet of Seathwaite is the wettest inhabited area in the UK, experiencing approximately 3.5 metres of rain each year!<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong>3. It&#8217;s second only to the Cairngorms, standing at an impressive 4,528 square kilometres.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>4. It doesn&#8217;t come close to being the deepest in the world however, with Lake Baikal in Russia plummeting to 5,387 feet.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>5.
