We aren&#8217;t surprised by these results, as our research also found that 18% of Brits most like seeing the seaside during a weekend break in the UK.<\/p><p>Also featuring in the top 5 were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sykescottages.co.uk\/canterbury-cottages.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Canterbury<\/a> with 20%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sykescottages.co.uk\/helmsley-cottages.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Helmsley<\/a> with 16%, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sykescottages.co.uk\/haworth-cottages.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Haworth<\/a> with 16% and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sykescottages.co.uk\/harlech-cottages.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Harlech<\/a> with 15% of votes. Despite the sea being metres from the front door, we felt perfectly tucked away.<br><br>After a quick look around we all headed down into the heart of Port Isaac to explore. I gave up counting how many times we said 'wow' - every angle in Port Isaac is picture perfect. We headed up the other side of the harbour and into the fields that lead to the South West Coast Path. Poppy and Bramley both charged about, hair blowing like crazy in the strong Cornish winds.<br><br> We then skipped back down the road and into The Golden Lion pub, more than ready for dinner. We were seated upstairs -  try and book a table facing out onto the crashing waves, it's spectacular. There is also a balcony\/terrace where you can sit out and enjoy an uninterrupted view over the harbour. I had the catch of the day (hake), Dan enjoyed a huge burger and Poppy has sausage and mash. We had planned to spend a few hours stand up paddle boarding, but although the weather was perfect for surfing it was less perfect for balancing Poppy on a board.<br><br> Instead we decided to explore Port Gaverne where Poppy loved collecting all of the different coloured rocks and sea glass on the beach. Climbing the steps built into the cliff, we explored the connecting bridge and admired the fishermen on the rocks until the wind blew us into the Port Gaverne Hotel to quench our thirst.<br> <br>Later, we went on one of the most spectacular dog walks that I can remember. Poppy practiced standing still to spot rabbits in the gorse, we saw cormorants diving for fish, not to mention the stunning scenery and crashing waves - it was magic!<br><br>Back at Beehive Cottage, we had a quick turnaround before heading out for dinner - pizza at The Angry Anchovy. This was a short 5 minute walk up the hill. We were immediately greeted with smiling faces and the magical words 'would you like complimentary olives and breadsticks?' Our waitress couldn't have been friendlier, and the food was perfect.
