  • "An ideal property with all the facilities you need."

Great shared laundry room on site. Lovely bathroom just be careful with the generous powerful shower! Smart TV and Netflix a bonus. Huge comfortable bed. A very convenient and quiet location close to the Cleveland Way footpath at Boggle Hole. Good to have under-cover parking on site. Lovely friendly but unobtrusive owners, very approachable, and only too happy to help if needed. Only suggestion would be a starter pack of tea, coffee and milk just to be able to have a drink on arrival. Enjoy!

) from the front door. 5 minutes down to Boggle Hole - the YHA offers excellent cakes, snacks and simple meals into the evening. High quality Yorkshire food in shops, pubs and restaurants. Great variety of places to visit with moorland and coast. Recommend the Park and Ride for Whitby as parking is expensive in the town. Hope to return.

We wanted to continue exploring the walks around the area, which we did. Like before we had nothing to complain about and enjoyed our time there. Perfectly placed for what we wanted to do. Would seriously consider it again in the future.

  • "Lovely cottage in a super location."

Very warm and comfortable. Peaceful and restful. The weather could have been kinder to us but we still got out. I would recommend you replace the ancient electric cooker which makes an awful noise when you use it and the rings are difficult to control. Then I think it could be a five star place.

Thank you for lovely comments! We have checked the cooker and fixed the issue. Property Owner

There was dust on the rear of the wardrobe door and the shower needs resealing. There's a mismatch of crockery and glasses, but it wouldn't prevent us returning. We had a lovely stay.

Thank you for your feedback Apologies for the slightly dusty wardrobe door! We will ensure this area is double checked in future. The shower has been resealed on 24th April. Thank you for flagging this. It is all new sealant now. Crockery and Glassware are matching. Property Owner

  • "The property was spotless."

Sofas weren’t particularly comfortable, but that is probably just a matter of taste. Some kitchen knives would have been handy for self catering accommodation. We had a lovely stay and would definitely recommend it.

Hi So sorry you had an issue with knives! We have restocked the kitchen drawers and rechecked all the cutlery for future stays. Please do not hesitate to let us know during any future stays if you require something that is not in the cottage and we will always try our best to accommodate during your stay. We have added a lovely comfy snuggle chair to the lounge. Property Owner

  • "It is a lovely cottage, very comfortable and we enjoyed our walks to Robin Hoods Bay."

It was easier when the tide was out and we were able to take the short route across the beach. The only thing that spoiled our holiday was that unforeseen circumstances meant we had to return early (car problems). We would recommend the cottage to anyone who is looking for a quiet escape with spectacular walks on the doorstep.

Also no just eat delivery available. This didn't spoil anything as we just stocked up at the supermarket on food etc.. The accommodation comfy & everything that you needed to self cater. So many local walks and bike rides to go on, just a fantastic place, would definitely stay again.

  • "We expected a country style cottage and that is exactly what we got; located deep within the Yorkshire countryside it made a very good retreat, with just the song of the birds and a very friendly pheasant to break the silence."

.. The cottage was furbished very well, clean and extremely comfortable; up-to-date technology ensured that our phones etc had no problem connecting with good reception. We particularly enjoyed the private rustic forecourt that offered off-road under cover parking within easy reach of the front door. Ideal for walkers or just silence seekers; a small walk ensured a visit to the beach. Reasonably the location is suitable for children because it is safe for the children to play, very close to Robin Hoods Bay and a short drive to Whitby, making planning the day easy and effortless. We will revisit Mill Cottage and can highly recommend it.

Suited for couple however very open plan so if one is up and moving around and the other sleeping noises will be heard. We had an issue with there not being a large enough saucepan with lid for pasta and no pasta bowls but this was sorted and the pan and pasta bowls provided. Very please that problems like this were dealt with quickly and not brushed off. Would stay there again if we return to the North Yorkshire Moors

  • "This was to be a sun-drenched cycling holiday in the North Yorks Moors."

Drenched it was but not with sun, and Mill Cottage proved to be the most delightful 'home' to come back to each day. It had everything we needed to be warm, comfortable and sorted, with a laundry, bike-washing and 'parking' facilities. It really was perfect, and probably rescued what might have been a pretty dire time elsewhere: knowing what we would be going back to made getting wet, cold and muddy perfectly acceptable. The remote setting near Boggle Hole is lovely, with Robin Hood's Bay a walk away, and the cottage is cleverly and tastefully put together. We would love to return - in the sun!
