  • "We spent 2 weeks at Erw Ddu and knew we would be happy there as soon as we arrived."

Set in a quiet spot with very little passing traffic yet within walking distance of Benllech. The cottage is furnished and decorated to a high standard and is very comfortable indeed and cosy too. There is a large, well maintained and secure garden which surrounds the property and the gardening is done by a very friendly gentleman.

  • "We have had a lovely week in the cottage, beautiful surroundings and very peaceful."

Wonderful garden, which the dog loved running in , we enjoyed a very hot week, and would have liked an umbrella to use at the table to have some shade, maybe even garden loungers but that’s all I would say could be improved slightly. The house is spotless, lovely decor and everything you need to use. We didn’t watch any tv or even eat indoors as the weather was too nice not to sit out. Great area to stay and explore Anglesey. There is a narrow lane and tight squeeze through the gate to park up at the cottage , but quickly get used to this. Would definitely recommend it here.

  • "We had such an amazing time here on our family holiday."

Well located to explore the whole island, so many fab recommendations for beaches and places to eat. Cozy and cute cottage with most of the facilities needed (a washing machine would make me stay again - travelling with young children, it’s just great to just put a wash on part way through and not bring home wet stinky clothes from the beach!) The children loved the garden and it was lovely that it was so safe, secure and we saw very few people/cars go passed so it felt like our own little world.

  • "This was our second stay at Erw Ddu."

As soon as I stepped out of the car, I felt relaxed. The property was immaculate, beds and furniture comfy. Loads of hot water and a brilliant log burner. The big garden is perfect for dogs. Being a couple of miles inland from Benllech, the situation provided us with absolute peace and quiet. It’s beautifully situated to explore all parts of Anglesey but this time we concentrated on the south of the island and just over the bridge to the mainland. The gorgeous weather helped, but the scenery is so beautiful, it makes your heart sing. From vast mountains, to huge beaches and the lovely Beaumaris, a stay at Erw Ddu is all you need to relax, unwind and recharge your batteries

Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so glad you enjoyed Erw Ddu and Anglesey as much as we do. Property Owner

  • "We cannot recommended this cottage highly enough."

It was spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and a haven. It is set in a lane which is quiet. The odd car and walker went past but apart from that so peaceful. The garden is delightful, the hydrangeas were in bloom and they are lovely. It has a stone wall all around, our main issue was our dog (Border Terrier)who ought to be named Houdini, possibly could have got out at the bottom of the garden(someone has already mentioned this in an earlier review). Because of this we couldn't let him loose without watching him very carefully. We were grateful therefore for the wonderful dog exercise park, Centrebarks in the next village Brynteg, where we could take our dog for a lovely run in 4 acres of fenced fields. Our one and only disappointment was on the Friday as we were due to leave on the Saturday, we were sitting enjoying our leisurely breakfast around 9.30am when a man walked past the very private window. Then we heard him say"hello", through the kitchen stable door. My husband went to see who he was and was met with a curt "we are cutting the grass, ok".... The man and we assume his wife proceeded to do this. Very quickly and efficiently. It would have been more courteous if he had said who they were and maybe talked to us.. It was rather early to invade our privacy we thought, couldn't it have waited until we had left the following day?? We still don't know who they were, cleaners or owners??? Some may think this is rather pedantic, maybe it is, but it upset us on our last day... Apart from that..a lovely holiday in a beautiful place.

  • "What a perfect cottage in the most perfect surroundings!"

So well equipped, clean and welcoming. The location feels like the middle of nowhere, silence but for the birds and nearby donkeys! But actually it is very well placed for local amenities and for exploring the Isle of Anglesey. It was just what we needed for a quiet getaway from it all week. Would highly recommend.

  • "The place was really lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

Only feedback is that we were slightly disappointed in no play equipment at bottom of garden (shown in pictures). Also regarding cleanliness, the cottage was clean and tidy however there were areas where it was obvious it had not been cleaned for a very long time (eg. Dust at side and under sofa and inside the bathroom storage unit). The cottage, garden and surroundings however were beautiful. The cottage was stocked with everything you could need and a welcoming gift of prosecco and chocolate was lovely! We would definitely stay here again!

The cottage was not clean cobwebs everywhere the only good thing about it was the garden

Thank you for your feedback. Our cottage is always cleaned by professional cleaners and we are sorry you feel it did not meet our usual high standards. Contact numbers are left in the cottage for our guests if they have any concerns and had you contacted us we would have been more than happy to resolve any issues for you. We are so pleased you enjoyed the beautiful gardens and hope to welcome you back to our lovely cottage in the future. Property Owner

  • "This cottage was stunning."

Lovely and quiet and everything we needed, clean, lovely garden, well stocked kitchen. Unfortunately I broke my ankle on the second day of our holiday and in the rush to pack up we left a few things behind. The owner was contacted via sykes and then contacted us directly and couldn't have been more helpful. She went to the cottage to collect our forgotten items and posted them back to us. Would definitely return to the cottage.

The staircase wasn’t a problem as they have been replaced with normal stairs. The ones it the photos aren’t there any more. Since the lockdown easing, evenings were spent playing in the huge garden with bbqs, swing ball and playing with the dog. But still plenty to do on the island too Would def come again. In a very quiet location but still only a stones throw to the beach

  • "We found the cottage very comfortable and cosy if somewhat dark."

The only major issue was that the oven did not work.

Thank you for your feedback it is very important to us, Menai Holidays contacted the owner who has been to the property and checked over the oven which is in full working order. The oven is a freestanding LPG bottled gas oven which does not run like a fan assisted oven. Menai Holidays staff are always on hand if you would like to get in touch throughout your stay. • "A lovely cottage in a very peaceful location."

The garden is superb and the cottage spacious and very cosy. We were quite surprised with the stairs as I would say they are more ladders than stairs so it wasn’t the easiest getting bags up and down but we did get used to it. The driveway for us also proved a problem as it is very narrow when trying to park the car. With the amount of land it would be so much easier to widen the gate posts and make it much simpler. Not a negative to put you off though as we had a great stay but feedback for the owners.

Suited us down to the ground. Beautiful, character cottage with very stylish decor. Well equipped to a high standard. Garden was lovely and effective in keeping the dogs happy and safe. Location ideal for exploring the island. We particularly like this side of the coast. Coastal path walks are excellent and will match anything in Pembroke, or Cornwall. Will definitely be coming back.

  • "Lovely cottage, clean and well presented and the welcome gift was a nice touch, large wall enclosed rear garden which was great with play equipment, wall enclosed but the wall went low at the bottom end which allowed our dog to climb onto it so she needed to be supervised as there was a drop on the other side and we also had a strange dog in the garden, apart from that a great week."
