  • "The cabin was spotless and warm on arrival and very well equipped."

The beds were super-comfortable with crisp linen. Sounds silly, but the towels were big (so often they’re barely bigger than a facecloth!). The hot tub was glorious with amazing views. Check in and out was easy. So much to do locally in stunning surroundings.

The property was basic and adequate. Surprised not to have hand soap in bathrooms as this I would class as a basic necessity. I booked this place last minute and through "Holidu'. I had paid full amount before realising it was affiliated to Sykes. I had £20 discount with Sykes which I would obviously have used had I known it was a Sykes property.

Thanks for your feedback. I suggest you speaking to Sykes about your discount. Thanks Property Owner

For us, the only down side was to not being able to check in until 5pm, from 2pm would have been perfect Check out a little early too. Felt a bit rushed - however it did give us time to stop for more exploring on way home :-) We will definitely be back though as everything else great - hot tub included !

Thanks for your feedback regarding check in time, we will certainly amend this. Hopefully see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The overall stay was very good."

The log cabin was beautiful and the views were amazing. However we have stayed at many log cabins like this with the customer service being amazing but here is not the case at all !! You have to arrive after 5pm and it’s very dark and really hard to find with not much lighting and when we found it we picked up the keys what seemed like from a small cupboard ? We never saw or met anyone the whole week we were there which I think is really bad , we saw no one and spoke to no one it really was very unsettling! Also the hot tub was never cleaned , they said in the paper work they have tablets to keep it clean but we used it everyday and there was foam and dirt in it every time we used it and the remote control for the telly was broken and so difficult to use Overall the log cabin was very clean and nice but they really need to think about their customer service Thanks

We’re glad you enjoyed the lodge and the view. Truly sorry about the customer service. Since Covid-19 we had to change things around and obviously it suited during the pandemic. We had so many comments saying it was easy and convenient but obviously people like different things. We will certainly take your advice on board. We hope to see you in the future. In regards to the hot tub, it was checked whilst you were staying with us. Thank you. Property Owner

We had an absolutely amazing few days away with the kids. The private hot tub is the icing on the cake and when not out we were in there several times in the day. If you're looking for a peaceful break with stunning views and lovely walks out, would highly recommend this. Elan Valley is about 15min drive from the lodge with the most stunning views and lovely park in the middle of it for the kids to enjoy. The owner and staff are amazing and the lodges are so clean. In our kids words "this is the best holiday and holiday home EVER" lol. Will definitely be back here. Thank you Carl, his lovely Mum Molly and the rest of the amazing team for everything. Only active and working about 5% of the time there. After a long great day in the outdoors exploring, the family would have loved to have sat in the cozy lodge watching a movie together on Netflix together. Proved impossible every one of the 5 days we were there. Now to the important and the good... - the lodge was amazing! So spacious, so modern, so clean. An incredible structure. - the furnishings and facilities were great; and the beds were soooo comfortable! - the hot-tub on the balcony was fantastic; kids in it almost every day at some point - the park is in the most amazing scenery. Great little walks around, up the hills, down to the rope swing, etc. - the nearby town of Rhayader was lovely - you have GOT to travel the 15mins down to the Elan Valley. The sight of the gigantic waterfall at the reservoir is something to behold! - lots of little tiny villages, churches, Abbey ruins, beautiful valleys and hlls to explore what a place!
