  • "Bryn Teg is the perfect place for peace and quiet but on the doorstep for visiting all the beautiful places in Mid Wales."

Barmouth, Bala Lake, Llansantffraid. Everything inthe bungalow was like home from home and owners are especially thoughtful. I was very pleased to see the addition of a washing machine as we used this to wash grandson's bedding and clothes. The field was perfect for him to go exploring and the jacuzzi a treat for us. This was our 5th visit and can well recommend and hope to be back again.

Location is excellent for exploring. The access to the parking at the rear is extremely narrow and difficult to negotiate but there is alternative parking below which is fine. Suggest you flag up the alternative in the "blurb"! The owner was wonderfully helpful and can't be praised too highly.

  • "Pro’s: Outstanding scenery and location."

Modern decor Spacious accommodation Comfy beds and lots of bedroom storage Owners friendly to deal with via text Cons: No where in the garden or paddock is secure at all for small dogs, we had to put her on her harness and lead and go out with her every time she needed to go to the toilet. This was very inconvenient, especially as I’d phoned Sykes specifically to ask about this and been told it was secure. The driveway is very narrow to get in - no mention of this in the listing. We have a VW Golf and it was tight for us. Larger vehicles would really struggle. The majority of the house was clean - sinks, floors, furniture etc but small areas have been neglected - skirting boards dirty, corners of bathroom dirty, black mould in the shower. The electric shower pressure is very very low. Only one double plug socket with small extension lead in master bedroom, and it wasn’t near the mirror for drying hair etc. We had to order a 5m extension lead off Amazon. Only one toilet roll provided in each bathroom, had to buy own extras after that. Also no kitchen roll provided. The front of the hob was damaged - has a small jagged chunk out the front, potential injury hazard. Conservatory interior door handle was broken off and just left on the side - step daughter got trapped inside twice. External front door, conservatory exterior door and bathroom window all need adjusting - difficult to shut / operate. Being picky just so owners can improve issues / so future guests are aware before they book.

Generally well equipped and the field and the hot tub were real bonuses. We were a little disappointed there was no washing machine or, more importantly, a drier. The weather was wet every day and with two dogs to dry and our wet walking clothes it was a struggle to get everything dry. We were just two people and a family of 4 or 6 would find it impossible. The other thing we would have appreciated was a duvet and a duvet cover that were the same size - a superking cover on a king duvet is just very irritating!

Owner was so welcoming and friendly - i love how the owners are so warm and welcoming and even left a welcome bottle of wine, chocolates dotted around for the kidsnand a bottle of milk for our arrival. Love the powerful hot tub in good working order. Padock made it extra special as dog could run free and kids could play cricket in the field. Nice location as just over an hours drive to Snowdon. During the summer months some comfy garden chairs would be lovely, as it has a lovely sun spot or perhaps some pads for the furniture that is provided. The road which is actually a bridle path leading up to the property is terrible and really needs maintaining, as it could cause serious damage to a car, also the access onto the main road is dangerous and could perhaps do with a convex mirror. The field for a game of rounders/cricket or just for your four legged freind(s) is amazing. The garden was secure for our dog but the lock does need adjusting on the single gate down the side of the property as without a brick it does open. The hottub is wonderful, but there's only two hooks for a six seater hot tub to hang your towels on!! Beds and furniture were comfortable for us. The saniflow toilet could perhaps do with an extractor fan and the noise of the saniflow toilet does make you jump on occasions. Other than that a lovely hoiliday was had by all, lovely water sports to be done at Lake Vyrnwy with a nice coffee shop and parking. Nice Indian takeaway/restaurant about 10 minutes drive.

We planed so much hiking with the dogs but end up staying in the cottages as the secure fild next to it gave us enough room for the dogs to play and for us to have picnic and watch the sunset. My only issue was we have a Ford Tourneo and so parking was a little tight, but this was managed and the owners also offered to let us park outside their property about 100 meters up the road if we found parking too difficult. The place was spotlessly clean with everything supplied…nice added touches like milk, bottle of wine & Welsh cakes on our arrival. We had the security if we did need anything or had a issue…which we didn’t …the owners were only up the road if we needed them. We would definitely love to go back…the area is so peaceful but if you fancy a stroll & a drink there’s 2 pubs down the road within about 10 minutes walk from the bungalow. There’s a tiny well stocked shop about 2.5 miles from the bungalow & a main supermarket about 30 mins drive away. The only thing that would be an added bonus would be a washing machine but we managed well enough for the week as a family of 4 as there is a rotary line & pegs if you do need to rinse any clothes out. There’s not a lot of pressure in the hot water so your not going to get that power shower but yet again it wasn’t a problem for us…only my teenage son had a moan but I think that’s a teenager thing to moan ! A big thank you to the owners & hopefully we’ll be back in the near future. 100% recommended x

Me, my partner and our two golden retrievers had a week away here and we couldn’t fault it. The bungalow was super clean, everything was fresh and ready. It had some great views from the conservatory even on the rainy days! Outside the garden area is huge. There’s two options to park, one down at the bottom which may be easier and less tight to park in. And one by the side of the bungalow - take the corner slow and you’ll avoid scratches. The stoned area to park is huge and leads straight to a fully enclosed field which was massive and great for the dogs. We couldn’t get them back inside as they loved the run there. The host - El was so welcoming and went above and beyond if we needed anything for example a Hoover- she brought hers round within the hour. She was great! The area is in a small little village, it will be a driving holiday to get to places. Our favourite was Bala lake as the dogs loved it, it took about 20-25 mins to get there. Would defiantly recommend this place, great value!

  • "We loved everything about our holiday, we was greeted by Eldrydd who was on hand with a happy face to greet us and show us the ropes!"

The cottage far exceeds expectations, the size and the fact it’s all on one floor was perfect for us, lovely sized bedrooms (we only used 2), brilliant bathroom with walk in shower, kitchen and dining area was spot on, living room with the flat screen tv on the wall and the log burner was amazing on the colder evenings. I personally also enjoyed my morning coffee sat staring at the amazing scenery from the conservatory. The garden is huge! And the fact we had access to large field next door was a great bonus for us and our two dogs. The hot tub was very warm and welcoming and along with the games room completes this perfect property. Cannot speak highly enough of the property and the owners.. we are already recommending to everyone and looking to rebook again!

The views from every window were breath taking. Very clean, comfortable beds, soft towels, and plenty of amenities, we loved playing table tennis and relaxing by the woodburner at night. Very dog friendly, the large field beside the house is nice and enclosed. Can't recommend enough, and the owners are so lovely and friendly. Thankyou for everything

  • "Amazing cottage in a picturesque part of Wales, cottage was spotlessly clean and very cosy with fantastic views of the surrounding hills."

The hot tub is luxurious and great for unwinding at the end of the day. The dogs loved the huge field behind the house, lots of room for them to stretch their legs and play about. All in all a great experience and we'll definitely be back in the future.

  • "A wonderful welcome, an abundance of outdoor space and spectacular views."

As soon as you enter the property any worries about what it was going to be like we're gone. Immaculate and the decor was perfect. Some wonderful personal touches which really made it feel special. The bedrooms and cupboard space was more than we needed. The wood burner was a delight and warmed the whole place so much we didn't need central heating on. Lovely to have a couple of blocks to start us off, plenty available local shop. Beds were made up and towels and hot tub towels were provided. Wow the hot tub was fab and the games room came in handy to dry off before you walked up the path to the house. The conservatory view is immense and lovely to sit and just gaze at the view. The owners were just fantastic and I we can't thank them enough for making our time away amazing, we went the first week out of lockdown in Wales, although not much open we still managed some hill walking a visit to lakes and waterfalls. There is so much praise I have for this Bryn Teg I've probably missed something out. I am so hoping we can go again soon..
