  • "Well what can I say, absolutely beautiful place and total tranquility ,, stunning location cabin was beautiful perfect setting, However not much for children to do ideally a couples retreat, outside of cabin needs a little bit of a spruce up otherwise 10/10."

Super 'cabin' - clean, comfortable, well equipped, quiet, secluded - in a great location for exploring this beautiful area.

  • "We have stayed at Ty Pren previously and we were not disappointed with our return visit."

There is a bumpy, potholed dirt track down from the farm to the lodges so a suitable vechile is required. I wouldn't arrive in a lowered vechile but you dont need a monster truck either. I drive a ford focus and we made it up and down there with no issues. Nothing has changed, apart from the weather. Whether sunny or rainy it's always a great time here away from it all. The views are still amazing and it is so peacefully quiet, its like being away from everything. You can walk down to Porthgain, cutting through the fields is quicker and going over the bridge with the water running underneath is so tranquil. The Sloop Inn is a great pub with amazing food, drinks and great staff, well worth a visit. The coastal walks are breathtaking, miles of views you will always remember. The blue lagoon is just a 5 minute drive away, just put Abereiddy Beach in the satnav/maps and it will take you there. There is parking on uneven, stoney ground so be aware of this before going. There is a charge of around £5 which is collected by someone before you park, i would advise to have the change to hand. They also provide public toilets which are free to use, no 40p required here. I would highly recommend a visit here. You can also walk from Porthgain to the Blue Lagoon, for those able to do so. Saint David's is also close by, amazing cathedral, shops, pubs, cafes all you could need for a great day out. To sum up, the lodge itself is worth the visit. The scenery and location is just an added bonus, I will most certainly be returning again.

  • "This spacious cottage is a short walk from the Pembs coast path."

An easy stroll down to lovely Porthgain (with superb fish and chips at The Shed), and not far by car to St Davids. The cottage is nicely tucked away in the countryside, with a glimpse of the sea, and only the animated sounds of the cows in the next-door farm during the night. After active days we enjoyed sitting on the big L-shaped couch to enjoy a movie. (No BBC tho'.) Only points to improve would be a much-needed clean of the exterior of the cabin, and more care with interior cleaning (checking how well the previous guests have cleaned crockery and glassware, and the state of the bin, and the washing machine). So a lovely stay, aside from those matters. Thank you!

If we had a complaint it regarded the TV. We were unable to access BBC or ITV or any of the other free view channels and Internet wasn't strong, but it wasn't strong anywhere.

  • "We had a wonderful holiday at Ty Pren."

We loved the log cabin, the peace and quiet of the location and the wonderful walks on the doorstep. Porthgain was a fabulous little harbour village to wander to and sit and have a drink outside the pub on an evening. The cabin was very comfortable and very well equiped. The only negative were the restrictions on the dog, they were not allowed on the grassy area in front of the cabins and we weren't able to have the patio doors open wide as the decking at the front of the cabin was not fully enclosed. Despite of this we would come back as we loved the peacefulness and the walks.

  • "As mentioned by someone else, the outside of the property needs a clean and tidy up."

The entrance is very heavily laden with cobwebs, which was a bit uninviting. However, once inside, the property was very clean. All of the rooms are very spacious. The bottle of wine and cake was a lovely thought and much appreciated. The location was beautiful and Porthgain was an easy 10 minute walk over the fields. We were a bit disappointed that the local pub would not allow dogs in as it was not warm enough to sit outside. We had a lovely few days away and enjoyed the many walks along the coastal path. Would definitely recommend.

  • "The outside of the cabin was dirty, full of cobwebs etc and didn’t look as if it had been cleaned in some time, and the immediate outside area had bits of rubbish in it."

The cabin does appear to more expensive than the other cabins on the site so I would expect higher levels of maintenance.

The lodges are set within an idyllic location away from noise with amazing country, sea views. At night you can see the lighthouse lit up, with the beam glancing across the lodge, a truly amazing sight. The small cluster of lodges are suitably distanced from one another, which allows you to have the privacy you need. With Two cars, Four guests and a Four legged companion there was more than enough space for everyone. The Lodge was inviting from the moment we opened the door, a bright, spacious layout which surprised us. Upon entering the main lounge, we found a bottle of wine and a welsh cake which was most appreciated after a long journey. The owners also supplied tea, milk and sugar to get us started, with a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine and tumble dryer if needed. There are local shops just a short drive down the road which is suitably stocked or there is a Tesco supermarket about 30 minutes away. The area surrounding the lodges is a country, coastal walkers dream. A beautiful Ten minute walk over the fields brings you down to Porthgain Harbour, you will be pleasantly surprised by how friendly everyone around the harbour is. The Sloop Inn is a great place to eat and have a nice drink to rest awhile and enjoy the scenery. The Shed is a sea food restaurant which has a wide range of food to suit all tastes, you will not be disappointed. There is boutique shops with artworks and the seaside nik naks for those wanting to take home a souvenir, with a free public toilet and car parking with Two designated charging points for electric vehicles. The views, atmosphere, coastal walks, great food and drink will make you want to stay longer next time. Thanks for a great stay and we hope to rebook sometime in the future.

Situated on a lovely quiet site which offers lots of privacy. The 5min walk to Porthgain is a real treat and from there access to the Pembrokeshire coast path was fabulous. My only complaint was that the double bed was low down and very soft and there had been water ingress into the twin bedroom leaving a smell of damp - we didn’t need to use this room but it would have been problematic if we had.

The lodge was up to our expected standards - clean, comfortable, providing everything we needed and in a lovely quiet and scenic setting. Close to the coastal path we enjoyed long walks with our dog. Although the nearest shops were some distance away we expected this and were easily able to stock up. We especially enjoyed the beach rides with Nolton Stables and a wonderful fish and chip lunch at The Shed in Porthgain (within walking distance through the fields adjoining the lodges). Altogether a wonderful break which we hope to repeat.

Just a few minutes walk from the coastal path and two places to eat. Easy access via a well Maintained farm track and surrounded by beautiful country side. The kids enjoyed the private safe grass area in front of the lodge. I lovePbrokeshire and in every way this was an idyllic location. The thermostat in double bedroom was broken - no phone signal so we tried to report via email in visitors folder found in lodge but it bounced back. The only reason I wouldn't go back is the terribly uncomfortable mattress on the double bed stopped me from sleeping.

But we do have a couple of concerns. Whilst the seating is still comfortable, it is beginning to sag and should be replaced soon. Also there was nowhere to hang wet coats or our wetsuits. A bin for dog poo would be a good idea.
