  • "Lovely comfortable and clean apartment."

Good location for exploring. Slight problem in getting key out of key safe. The mechanism was stuck so will need attention before next guests arrive. Also king size bed was actually 2 singles pushed together. Good for width but caused a mini ravine in middle so bad for backaches. Having said above would be re-booking later in the year

  • "Everything was very nice and the addition of a washer dryer was a bonus."

The only grip that I would have would be the pillow's were not very comfortable and need replacing. Also the parking space was very tight leaving not much space between cars to get out. The views from the apartment were beautiful. We really enjoyed staying there. The ensuite bathroom was lovely. The WiFi was great and I was able to login to my Netflix on the TV. I would highly recommend this apartment.

The shower door and shower head in the en-suite need replacing. The light in the en-suite is very dim and I had to shave in the other bathroom. Could do with a couple of hooks on the bathroom door. Pillows in the main bedroom need replacing - out of shape or stained.

Being on the fourth floor traffic noise was minimal and the trees and long distance views made it difficult to believe you were in a city. Every amenity was in walking distance and the car parking facility was a bonus. Being keen walkers the stairs were not an issue. The Wesley Apartment is the perfect base for exploring Wells and the surrounding area.

  • "Overall, this is a great holiday apartment in a very convenient location close to the city centre."

It is clean, tidy and well-equipped. The one downside that we encountered was that it was very noisy at night. Being in the centre of the city, we would expect general traffic noise etc., but because of having to have windows open in hot weather, the sound of revving engines and motorbikes from a nearby public car park and the close proximity of the bypass kept us awake. This is not a complaint about the apartment itself, of course, just a consideration for anyone wanting a more peaceful stay.

Thank you. Visiting my sisters who both live near. The apartment is very well situated: easy to go out for a meal, walk and shopping. Parking very useful. Some hooks in the bathroom would be helpful. However, the flat is exceptionally well equipped.

  • "A very spacious and well appointed apartment, within easy walking distance of Wells and all its shops, eateries and attractions as well as good road links allowing quick and easy access for exploring the wider area."

Disappointing was the fact that the 'super king' bed was in fact two singles simply pushed together which consequently led to one or two nights disturbed sleep. Also we found that many of the items of crockery and cutlery were not that clean on arrival so maybe the 'post letting' checks could be a little more strict, especially during these times of Covid-19. Overall 'tho a very pleasant stay and a property we would certainly look to rent again.

It had been "Covid cleaned" before our arrival and was immaculate, very well equipped, and attractively furnished. We were grateful for the generous gifts of wine, flowers and milk. The only possible detraction was the poor state of some of the surrounding garden, specifically at the front of the block which made it look unkempt and neglected, and about which one of the permanent residents is trying to get rectified by the managing agents.

  • "I was in two minds about whether to leave a review or not because we had a very mixed stay."

I decided that even if this doesnt get published, then the feedback to the owner would help others in the future: Good: We had two main criteria when we were looking for where to book: Firstly: Location - we wanted somewhere we could walk out to for food/drink and so we loved the location, with easy parking, quiet neighbours (in fact we were convinced only a few of the other appratments were occupied), and the appartment was well equipped with wifi (an essential these days), dishwasher, utensils, freeview etc. Bad: Our second main criteria was a superking bed. Unfortunately, just pushing two single beds together and throwing a king size duvet on top does not make it a superking. Please please please if the intention is to continue hiring it out as a superking at the very least it needs a decent superking mattress topper so you feel you are in the same bed with your partner, and a full size duvet so you dont spend all night fighting each other to be covered. Carrying on with the negatives, was the cleanliness. One of the conditions of booking is to clean the place on departure - however it appears the owner relies on this rather than doing a proper clean themselves, so despite the note in the kitchen to say it had been made covid safe, we still found rubbish on the floor and quite a thick layer of dust on things like the heated towel rail/radiator in the bathroom - so as it hadnt been cleaned fully it raised doubts on whether it could really be descrived as covid clean.

  • "This is our second visit to this holiday flat and it will not be our last."

As before we loved being in this spacious, clean, light, quiet, well appointed flat which is so conveniently located. There was again the lovely generous gift of flowers and wine on arrival together with the thoughtful provision of such basics as milk, tea and coffee. We left a list of things that we thought could be improved in our previous evaluation. We saw that these had been noted and ticked off in the message we'd left in the Guest Book. We'd suggested that the kitchen lighting needed to be improved and indeed it has been. Also this time the boiler was working to perfection providing plenty of hot water for baths, showers and washing up and a good level of heat for the flat. As we cooked a meal every evening at the flat, kitchen equipment and conditions were important. There were good new pots in the kitchen as we had recommended. The frying pans are still not very good--we suggest that these be replaced. Last year we had a terrible time trying to figure out how to use the oven. We asked for printed instructions to be made available. There was a manual for the use of the hob but still no instructions for the oven. Happily, we managed to work it out and had several pans of delicious roasted vegetables! All in all we were impressed with the attention given to our remarks and suggestions. When we arrived the overhead light in the large bedroom was not working as the light bulb had been broken off in the socket. One day when we returned 'home' after a day out, we found that the television was on! The next day we noticed that the overhead bedroom light was working. Someone had come in the day before and set it right. We did not mind having someone come into the flat while we were away--especially to do such a good turn--but it would have been nice had they left a note to say they had been in. The flat is very near to Tesco and is close to the excellent shop, The Good Earth. Also it is easy to get a bus ( the station is nearby) to Glastonbury where there is a very fine health food supermarket (well worth visiting!), Earthfare. We enjoyed lunches at The Good Earth restaurant, the cafes at the Cathedral and the Bishop's Garden and in Glastonbury, The Rainbow Café. As vegans, we often struggle to find good food when we eat out but not so in Wells and Glastonbury. Vegans and vegetarians take note! Should the owner of the flat wish to invest in some improvements at some point, a blind in the kitchen would be nice to afford privacy and much firmer mattresses would be very good. However, we are overall really delighted with the flat. Even the fourth floor location (no lift) is a great free fitness workout. We look forward to staying here again.

  • "The flat is in an excellent location--very central which was especially good for us as we have no car."

It was very clean. airy, open and nicely furnished with good pictures, books, great views from some of the windows and very well equipped. We were surprised and pleased to find roses and a bottle of wine on our arrival. There were a few problems: no instructions on how to use the oven (we looked up the model on our tablet and worked it out but it was a challenge); the boiler did not work properly so at times we were too cold and the hot water for baths and showers was unreliable and sometimes unavailable; no lift is a drawback although we were able to manage--on our arrival a kind resident carried up our bags!; there was not enough light in the kitchen; and the pots and pans were really inadequate--they need to be replaced. We cooked a meal together every night so the kitchen facilities were really important to us. The knives were excellent! We did enjoy the flat overall and certainly would recommend it and be happy to use it again. We especially appreciated being so close to the cathedral (we attended several services), the bus station--we made many day trips and food shopping venues. It really was quite lovely to be able to see the sunrise over St.Cuthbert's and the cathedral whilst lying in bed (from one of the bedrooms).
