  • "We had a fabulous welcome from the owner who explained the ins and outs of the heating etc."

The house was really clean, spacious and well maintained. The kitchen had every tool you could possibly need. The house was warm with comfortable sofas and beds. The parking area was big enough to easily fit the two cars we had with us. I liked that the gate was placed so that you could close it while still on the drive.

Very clean and modern, with welcoming owners. The accommodation on offer was exactly as described and a great base to explore the surrounding area. Would definitely return when we are next in the area.

Lovely to be greeted on arrival and also there to say goodbye. Would definitely recommend this property.

Brilliantly comfortable and quiet and photos don’t do it justice. The only thing we would change would be the addition of a hot tub, it would make for a great bonus after a day out exploring to be able to come back and sit in one and take in the views.

  • "Rectory Farm View was a great place to stay for our family gathering in the village, easy walking distance of shop and if you want to visit the local pub."

Also easy access to both Yeovil and Sherborne from Queen Camel. If we had known there were two lodges we could have had more family next door! We were also able to group up to visit Fleet Air Museum at Yeovilton just along the lane, Haynes Museum at Sparkford and a fun outing to let off still at Ham Hills Country Park not far along the A303. The lodge was very well appointed easy to keep clean and so relaxing, many thanks to Shona and Andy, wish we could have stayed longer.

Tried endless times, holding for up to 20 minutes without success, even when transferred from a different option. No email address is published so unable to contact them. Also concerned with any company that retains all my card details on their files to deduct payments automatically. Would be very reluctant to use Sykes agin.

  • "We had an amazing stay at Rectory Farm View!"

The accommodation was exceptionally clean, very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable and the added bonus of a utility room was great. We spent many an evening sitting on the patio, having a BBQ just chilling with a beer and a glass of wine. All in all I would say this was one of the best places we have stayed at and hope to come back next year. Shiona was a wonderful host and answered the few questions I had prior to arriving so quickly.

Well equipped with all you could ask for. It's a new building (3ish years) so all the modern amenities are here: underfloor heating, modern kitchen with dishwasher, fridge freezer etc. Basically you couldn't want for more....but there is more! The view overlooking the owners farm was perfect for us city dwellers to look out onto and relax! To top it off the cows were very friendly :) The owner Shiona, was very welcoming and a perfect host. She provided all the details and requirements i.e. Recycling / food waste bins etc. and left us to enjoy or break. All appropriate COVID measures were in place and the property was spotless and very tidy...

Photos don’t do it justice. Comfy beds and well stocked kitchen. Spotlessly clean and the hosts were lovely and always available if we needed anything. 2 pubs in walking distance. The one in West Camel serves Caribbean food in the garden and I can recommend the takeaway Sunday lunch from the pub in Queen Camel. Great location for exploring Somerset and Dorset. Lovely to eat our breakfast out on patio and we made use of the bbq in the evening.

  • "A beautiful accommodation in a beautiful setting!"

Book this - you will not be disappointed. The house was spacious, bright, modern and very clean. The host was superb and had thought of everything we needed- including all kitchen utensils. She was very easy to contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Each room was very clean and tastefully decorated with very comfy beds, linen and towels. There was an en-suite to the master with a large walk in shower with excellent water pressure. The main bathroom had a bath tub and shower as well. The house was very warm and cosy and a fan was also provided. There was lots of natural light throughout the property helped in by three large bi fold doors which spanned the open plan living/dining area. This made the whole property feel sunny and spacious as well as providing stunning views of the fields which wrapped around the property. There was also a outdoor furniture including dining table with parasol and a bbq. It was lovely to have our breakfast outside over looking the fields. The setting was very clam and relaxing. Everything has been very well maintained and the property felt new. A great place to enjoy the many attractions in the area....We visited Stonehenge, Weymouth beach and Charmouth to go fossill hunting which were all within an hour's drive. The accommodation provided a great base from which to explore these places. There is a supply shop a few minutes drive from the house with fresh bread as well as a Londis Petrol shed/Macdonalds/Costa within 10 mins drive. We are a family of six including 2 children and grandparents and this was certainly a great place to enjoy with the family. Thank you for a lovely stay - we will be back !

It’s very well equipped, comfortable and despite only being a couple of years old is clearly well looked after. The owners are very helpful and take good care of you during your stay. The only minor things that could possibly be done to make the property any better is the inclusion of a dvd or blu-ray in the main area and perhaps a television in the main bedroom.

The beds were very comfortable. The bed linen and towels were of very good quality. In the kitchen there was more than enough of the plates, bowls and mugs. The frying pan was a bit big than the electric hob it should be one size small. In the master bedroom there should be a window because at night it was quite warm. The veiw from the cottage was just too good. Watching the calves while having our breakfast just made our day. Had a very pleasant stay. Will come back again.

  • "Although the property was well equipped and well furnished it did not have a homely feel."

It had fantastic bi-fold doors in the living space and master bedroom however we were unable to derive any benefit from these despite the fantastic weather. Each afternoon/evening we were inundated with flies so were forced to keep the doors and windows closed which resulted in the accommodation becoming extremely hot and especially uncomfortable for sleeping. We would have benefited from fly screens, fans in each room or preferably air conditioning. The accommodation was advertised as having a patio with views. The view consisted of a cow field which was immediately behind and to the right of the property.
