  • "A Little Peace of Heaven On Earth !"

What a fabulous find, absolutely stunning cottage with everything you needed and more, the attention to detail was perfect. It was a lovely surprise and touch to arrive to find complimentary milk, bread & cakes after a long journey. Very stylish and high quality furnishings , the beds were so inviting and comfortable and top quality linen used which makes such a difference, having the choice of firm or soft pillows was very thoughtful and large fluffy towels. I have stayed in many beautiful places but I have to say this has to be the best, a real hidden gem and hard to beat. Added bonus was being able to park outside in the winter but saying that it does have its own parking space just a stones throw away behind the cottage, I had the most peaceful relaxing time and the cottage was so cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. Beautiful sunset and sunrises right on your doorstep. Thankyou for sharing this beautiful home. Can not wait to return.

Thank you so much for your kind words , and we’re so glad you had a great time . What can we say- we’re suckers for nice bed linen etc. we hope you can visit again soon. Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in Rock House."

It was extremely well equipped, comfortable and clean. Being able to park outside in the low season was a treat! Welcome goodies of cake, butter, milk and bread were much appreciated. My only comment would be that the breakfast bar chairs were extremely uncomfortable to sit in for any length of time. Given there is no dining table, this made eating in a little less enjoyable than it might have been! Other than that, this house gets 10 out of 10. So much care has been taken to make people's stay enjoyable. Thank you.

Well appointed and luxurious inside. Plenty of utensils, glasses, crockery and cutlery etc. Bed linen and towels are high quality. Nice gesture of the rugs to wrap around on the sofa. Kind and welcoming note from the House Keeper, Karen, and some goodies and refreshments. Highly recommend this cottage.

Wonderfully decked out with modern amenities but still managed to be sympathetic with the age of the property, oh & my wife now has kitchen envy so thanks for doing such a great job. Found all of the local information very useful so thanks for pulling all that together. Lovely little touches for our arrival, cake for us & some dog biscuits +dog bowl already filled with water for the pup.

Particularly liked the location very close to the sea. Cottage well presented. Just a couple of suggestions. Different colour towels would be good so that each person's is easily identifiable. A dining table rather than breakfast bar would be nice.

  • "Amazing property, and we had a wonderful time."

Only comments would be - needed salad servers! Also as we looked under the beds, under the sofa and drawers to check we hadn’t left anything, and it was filthy. Sorry to report, but the place needs a thorough clean, not just in the places you can see, but everywhere! We only noticed as we were leaving so not an issue for us, but something to focus on in future!! We absolutely LOVED our stay and it was presented beautifully, and what a gorgeous location thank you

Hi, Sorry about late response - as I myself was on holiday there the last couple of weeks. I’m glad you enjoyed the cottage - and definitely the location. I’m so sorry you didn’t find the 2 sets of salad server . They were in the utensil pit- new kitchen , so already finding my way around . I wished you’d called Karen to let you know where they were. Cleaning wise. , it’s a funny cottage ! Crumbly traditional pointing etc. unfortunately sometimes Karen has to change over single handed- so we’ve ordered a few snazzy cleaning utensils and trying g to get a regular 2nd set of helping hands . Please do let us know if you have any more suggestions / questions and we’d be delighted to help. I’ve had a spending spree for the external lighting/ kitchen supplies and bedding and white company throws . So if you decide to visit again- it’ll be nice and cosy . Jonny Property Owner

We were on holiday with our 2 teenage sons and our dog. The house was perfect, really well equipped with everything we needed. Excellent surfing and body boarding opportunities, but remember to check the tide times to avoid disappointment! There is a shop and a lovely cafe in the doorstep and a great pub with spectacular views less than a minute up the hill behind the house. We will be back!

  • "An excellent property in a wonderful position."

Everything is of a very high standard. The double bed in the main room is a little cosy (but comfortable) but in smaller cottages and rooms its hard to put anything much bigger so completely understand and certainly didn't detract from our holiday.

  • "We loved coming back to Rock House for the third time."

It was excellent as ever and we appreciated the revamped kitchen - a great improvement. Apart from the fact that it's expensive (ouch!) it provides a wonderful place for a relaxing holiday in a delightful location. The only suggestion we'd make is to provide a table and chairs at the front. It's none too comfortable balancing on the front bar of the deck chairs and using the front wall as a table!

This cottage worked so well for us (couple plus one dog). We met Karen as we arrived - she'd been to get us some firewood so we could light the log burner. She was really lovely and welcoming. We loved the milk, bread, butter and mince pies that had been left - very generous, lovely touches. We had a fab week and didn't want to leave to be honest! Thoroughly recommend Rock House, and I hope we will be back next year.

  • "Everything was lovely, comfortable beds and pillows, clean and well equipped."

The only slight negative is that the wardrobe space, particularly the two hanging rails were taking up with clothes, wets suits and other items which I guess belong to the owners? As there is no other space to hang clothes. I had to move everything and put them elsewhere which was difficult as there is bedding, hoovers, wash baskets, tea towels and an array of household stuff stored in all the other parts of the wardrobe which is the only storage place in the cottage. Other than that, I couldn’t fault the cottage and will definitely be returning.

Thank you for your feedback, we have taken your comments on board. We will look forward to welcoming you back. Property Owner

Great attention to detail which was much appreciated. The property is perfectly located for easy access to the beach (covered at high tide but you can sit on the rocks or clamber over the cliffs to enjoy the sea) and the SW coastal path (the slopes are steep) The Port William (2 mins walk) offers pub grub and there’s a cafe for decent coffee and cakes over the road. The Mill House inn (10-15 mins walk) has a good restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed a relaxed, peaceful holiday with our dog on this unspoiled part of the north Cornish coast.

The biscuits, bread and milk were very welcome on arrival and the cottage was warm. Well equipped kitchen and beds all made up and ready. Only complaints were patio area very uninviting hadn’t even been swept down and area generally dirty. Also lack of storage as owners leave some of their belongings in the wardrobe. Alas this didn’t ruin our stay and I would recommend this cottage to friends. The location is amazing we have been visiting this area for 25 years so it was an absolute treat to stay so close to the sea.

:) Two of us and a dog had a wonderful stay in Rock House in Mid-June and were able to completely relax. On arrival, Karen, who had prepped the cottage had left a loaf of fresh bread, scones, cream and a plentiful supply of Nespresso pods for the coffee machine (All of which were fully caffeinated - we LOVE you Karen!) The cottage has two bedrooms with a double and a twin - the twin is larger and easier to sleep in for that reason but both are v comfortable. The rear patio, while unfinished, is secluded and quiet and I was able to use it for my weight bench during our stay. Parking is immediately behind the property but you need to walk about 200 metres as there is no access from the rear - not a problem for brief periods of loading and unloading (During the summer you CAN park outside overnight) The Saturday change over day was a boon, judging by the friday traffic we saw on the way down (we stayed the night before our week at the Mill House Inn, another great, dog-loving location) It's a fabulous location, all of 20 yards from the start of the inlet and about 7 yards from the icecream shop (I averaged 2.5 cones a day) We're booking again next year to coincide with a full, supermoon so the tides will be lower and higher respectively :)

Cottage was perfect for the 2 of us and the dog. Double bed a little small which would be my only complaint because otherwise the cottage is excellent. Perfect location with coastal paths opposite and behind. Port William pub opened at the end of our stay and it was lovely to have a meal and watch the sunset.

Lovely Cornish Tea left for us with bread and milk. Cottage had everything and more you could need or want for your stay. Very comfortable. As we were the first ones back after lockdown on the 12th April the cottage smelt a bit musty and on top of the headboards in both bedrooms was thick dust. This was cured by getting the hoover out and leaving the door open to ventilate the cottage. It didn't spoil our holiday.
