  • "Lovely, homely, well maintained and clean accommodation."

Plenty of storage for clothes etc and I loved the log burner. Excellent location for all local facilities and super views of the park and picturesque city beyond. Ample on road parking just outside entrance gate. Generous welcome pack and all relevant property information provided. Stayed here on my own but would be great for a family, as the garden is flat and enclosed. Perfect base for exploring the beautiful city of Elgin and beyond. I was sorry to leave.

  • "Excellent property."

Location was very good, quiet but within a 5 minute stroll to the amenities. Shops bars restaurants etc. 5 minute stroll to a lovely park - we travelled with a dog. Completely safe and enclosed garden with lovely rustic furniture. Cottage itself was immaculately clean, very well cared for and extremely well equipped. Cosy and warm. We wanted for absolutely nothing. Neighbours and locals very friendly. Although we didn't meet our hosts they made sure we had everything we needed, and were very welcoming and friendly. Elgin itself is a really interesting place with plenty of history. Further afield we found lovely coastal villages and hamlets. All in all one of the best cottages we have ever stayed in and we have been self catering for many years. Highly recommended.

Thankyou so much for taking the time to write a review. We are so pleased you enjoyed the cottage and the area so much - we try hard to keep the property very clean and to a high standard so it feels like a home from home for our guests. The garden is a lovely secluded space indeed. It was great to have you stay and Thankyou for leaving the cottage in such immaculate condition. Property Owner

  • "The cottage was very clean , clean towels and beddings and very comfortable, it had activities for our kid ( which was great ) also there is a lawn to sit out or play, the only problem that we had was not with the cottage as such but the distance of the cottage from the some of the points of interests like the loch Ness, or the Glenfinnan viaduct or the Ben Nevis rope way, added a 2 hour on a round trip every time we went out to explore."

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and the north east area. It is indeed quite a drive to those areas although such stunning scenery on the way I bet. Thankyou for taking the time to review the property Property Owner

  • "This cottage is a real gem, even nicer than the photos make it look."

The location is beautiful and peaceful, with a lovely park a short walking distance away. Even though it is in the town centre, noise is not an issue and as it is situated on a quiet street, there is plenty of parking available. The cottage itself has everything you could need for your stay, and more. Fiona gave us a warm welcome and checked in on us via text message during our stay. The little extras were really appreciated after a long journey. We felt settled instantly, even my dog settled quickly, as the cottage feels really homely. We will definitely book here again if we find ourselves back in this area of Scotland and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for accommodation in the Moray area.

Thankyou for taking the time to review Clyne and we are so pleased you had an enjoyable stay at the cottage and Moray area. It’s great to know we are getting it right for our guests and thankyou so much for leaving the cottage in such great condition - you’d hardly know you’d stayed! Property Owner

Property is very clean, comfortable and has everything you would need for your stay. Great location with the town centre, Cooper Park and Abbey all within a short walk. Plenty of on street parking outside the property. Elgin is a great base for exploring Moray. I've rented many holiday properties and the one thing that generally lets most of them down is the comfort of the matress (I'm usually glad to get home to have a good nights sleep!). This is not the case at Clyne Cottage, the matress was really good and I slept so well. Garden is great and is a sun trap even on the colder days. Plenty of seating and lovely friendly neighbours. I'll definately be back at some point, might even take my wife next time!

The location is very good and Dog friendly. Just far enough away from town but not that far to walk. Id say 15minutes to the centre where there are enough places to eat and drink. Supermarkets also near by. Very comfortable and the Cottage has everything you need for your stay. There is an enclosed garden with a picnic bench which was nice as the sun shines on that side of the property in the afternoon. Thank you. Steve & Debbie.

It has a generously sized kitchen, lovely bathroom and the heating is very good. It's located in a good location, a short walk gets you in the town centre or shopping centre. There are also plenty of supermarkets close by. The owner is very friendly and accommodating, my request was dealt with the very same day and was told if there is anything further I can think of to simply get in touch. The house is cleaned every week which the owner organised around my schedule. I would happily stay here again and recommend to anyone thinking of visiting Elgin.

The property

The charming town of Elgin, once known as Scotland's smallest city, is home to the semi-detached Clyne Cottage.

This pet-friendly, former coach house is a great base for a family retreat to this part of Scotland, within easy reach of the north east coastline.

You are greeted to the property with roadside parking before you step down into the enclosed garden with lawn and a patio boasting furniture so you can enjoy a bottle of wine as you admire the views over the town.

Stepping into the property there is a contemporary kitchen to your left, with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering stay.

Moving into the living/dining room, there is a dining table so you can indulge in a home-cooked meal with your loved ones or cuddle up on the sofa as you flick on the Sky TV and the warming woodburning stove.

When the evening draws to a close, climb upstairs to one of the two bedrooms, a king-size and a twin which offers flexible sleeping arrangements.

Both bedrooms have excellent storage space with a mirrored wardrobe and are complimented by a bathroom.

Elgin has plenty of shops, bars and eateries to suit all tastes, whether you fancy an evening out or buying essentials for an evening in, it is also home to a history museum, a motor museum, a train station and some wonderful gardens and parks which make for a lovely picnic spot.

Head five miles towards the north east coast to enjoy the sandy beach of Lossiemouth, as well as the shoreside golf course, the fisheries museum, the thriving marina and the nearby Covesea Lighthouse with its Royal Navy and Royal Air Force Heritage Centre.

Also, in the area you can visit many distilleries including Avva Scottish Gin and Glen Moray, enjoy a picnic at the beautiful Lin Falls, get up close with the animals at the Speyside Falconry and take a walk around the dog friendly paths or the 12th century ruins of Duffus Castle.

There is lots of exciting things to see and do, and with Clyne Cottage as your base, you won't miss any of it.
