  • "Overall the accomodation was fine."

Its a pity that the heating in the main bedroom was not sufficient during the night. Given the fact our holiday was in the middle of a very cold spell (below freezing) it resulted in the room being very cold. Couldnt adjust the temperature above 14 degrees. If this was rectified the accommodation would be perfect.

Ann, Many thanks for your feedback. As a result of this, we are going to install a new radiator with a Smart Thermostat valve which will work independently and allow the radiator to remain on during the night. Apologies for any inconvenience. Kind regards Pete & Karen Property Owner

  • "This is our 2nd visit to the property."

Had a lovely, chilled week (again). Perfect location and well maintained. Only down side was the heating going off during the night - main bedroom became very cold. It is the first time we have had cold weather whilst visiting the moray coast (thankfully). Last visit to house we had 14 deg c during the day, this time max temp was 4 degc. Still had a fab holiday and would recommend the property.

Dear Vicky Many thanks for your feedback. As a result of the bedroom being chilly, we are going to install a new radiator with a Smart Thermostat valve which will work independently and allow the radiator to remain on during the night. We are glad you enjoyed your 2nd visit to 61 Seatown. Kind regards Pete & Karen Property Owner

We had the most amazing week staying in Cullen and after a day out it was always great to "come home" to No.61 and curl up in front of a real fire. [Just to make fellow dog owners aware the yard/garden area is only secure on 3 sides - we came prepared with a portable/foldable dog fence. Otherwise scarily there is access to the busy not too far away Inverness road]. Brilliant property, I would highly recommend and may well visit again!!!

The cottage is absolutely spotless and such a warm and inviting home from home, a week wasn’t long enough! The perfect location, right next to the beach and pub but only a very short walk up the hill into the town of Cullen. Lots of great walks on the doorstep and we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. We loved the cottage and Cullen and will definitely be back. If you’re thinking about booking then do it!

The cottage was well equipped and veey clean. It was close to the Royal Oak, which was very good. We had a nice lunch there. A short walk up the hill to the centre of Cullen where there were a number of places to eat. We visited Linda's chip shop, Lily's cafe and the Rockpool which were all very good. Lots of local walks and we really enjoyed being close to the beach. The cottage was dog friendly which was just what we were looking for. Highly recommended and we would definitely go back.

The only downside we had was specific to our family. Would happily book again however we have a 2 year old so only having a shower and no bath isn't ideal for us personally. If you have children that are happy to have showers then its perfect. High recommend.

  • "61 Seatown is a really beautiful cottage, decorated to a very high standard and has everything you need."

It was welcoming and comfortable and was the perfect place to stay. We were warm and cosy and enjoyed every minute of our stay. It wasn't a problem for us, but, the steep stairs may be an issue for some, so best to be aware. The only little thing which I would have appreciated was a dressing table and mirror by the window in the main bedroom or even a small table and mirror just to do hair and make-up. This is not a criticism just something that I personally would have found very useful. 61 Seatown was a perfect place to stay and we look forward to returning to this 'little gem' of a cottage very soon. Cullen itself is wonderful. The cottage is 2 minutes from the beach and harbour and is surrounded by great walks and scenery. The town itself has everything you need and everybody is very friendly. Cullen and the cottage make for a lovely relaxing holiday and we can't wait to return.

One thing that should be noted is that due to very steep stairs, it would not be suitable for less able people. Also the house is situated 50 meters from the junction not 500 meters as stated. Also the house is behind number 63 and can not be seen from the road.

Cottage was beautiful and absolute spotless and a minute from the beach. Very comfortable and welcoming. Nice welcome pack waiting for us on arrival. Our first time in this part of Scotland and well worth the long drive. Cullen was beautiful, clean sandy beaches and such friendly people. There were no crowds and parking was so easy everywhere we went. Magnificent views from the cliff top walks up to Bow Fiddle Rock. We, and our dog, had a great time. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday away from the crowds and traffic of Devon and Cornwall. We will definitely go again.

About the location

Elgin 21 miles.

The Moray coastal town of Cullen is situated on Cullen Bay, an inlet of the Moray Firth, and is an extremely attractive town, originally built around the mouth of the Burn of Deskford. Modern Cullen comprises the delightful fishing village of Seatown and an ‘inland’ area, which stretches up an imposing main street from Seatown, underneath a spectacular viaduct. Although the wealth of Cullen was built on textiles in the 18th century, the town is best known for its fishing heritage, its name being given to a rich, creamy haddock soup known as Cullen Skink. Visitors can enjoy Cullen’s lovely sandy beach, the famous Ice Cream Shop, regarded by many as Scotland’s best ice cream parlour, a fine selection of shops and restaurants, and the historic city of Elgin is within driving distance.
