  • "We had a very good week in this excellent property."

There are plenty of places to sit outside and watch the birds and wildlife - whatever the weather. The property is all equipped and it’s a very comfortable place to stay. There are walks from the door and lots of interesting places to visit within easy reach. There are badgers which come to the front of the house most nights, a deer ran through the back garden, red squirrels seen from the house in the woods opposite, and lots of birds coming to the feeders. We would be very happy to return - which probably says it all!

  • "The house is lovely."

Really comfortable & has everything you need. We were two families holidaying together & the house had plenty of room for us all to rub along comfortably. Location is great, lots of super walks from the house. All the forest and garden birds were a delight to watch. The welcome pack was much appreciated. We had a smashing time despite the weather. Thank you.

  • "Well maintained and fully equipped property which was everything we wished for a family week including children and dog."

Fantastic welcoming hamper, and well prepared for us in every way. …… comfortable for all of us (grandparents and family with 6yo and 2 1/2 yo) plus large dog. Birds and wildlife, including the visiting badger and wildcat, just added to the fun. Access track is a bit rough and maybe should be more mention as family Tesla is a bit low ground clearance, but after first trip from main road, negotiated the bumps ok. Thanks for a great holiday!

  • "Fantastic cottage in a fantastic location."

Dulcie helped us find our bearings for great doorstep walks and they both have definitely ensured cottage has everything and more. Very much appreciated the outside seating area as we had a glorious week and the garden was a suntrap to enjoy after walking. The drive down to the cottage is a single rough gravel track for reference.

The house was perfect for us. Very clean and comfortable. Plenty space for us all. The location is a bit remote but we enjoyed the peaceful setting. Not far to drive into Aviemore . Lots of walks and cycle tracks beside the property. Amazing garden for star gazing. We had never seen so many ! Would recommend this cottage.

  • "‘simply the best’ What a wonderful experience!"

The house was fabulous, comfortable & cosy and with the log burner lit just right for these February early dark nights. It felt we were in a different world with the house sitting in the forest to have that on your doorstep was truly beautiful. Then there is the wildlife! It was great to watch the birds at the feeders and to see deer walk passed the house it was truly amazing! Our dog had some great walks and he also enjoyed his swim. We will certainly go back and visit again. 10/10 to Dulcie & Gordon

The home itself was very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Nicely situated in a very quiet location but close to everything we like to do. Our dogs settled in very well and we had great walks through the trees from the door. Our stay was further enhanced by badger watching with sightings every evening of our stay.

  • "Clach Mhor - The house with the WOW factor!"

The peaceful, secluded location with a forest on one side and mountain views on the other side, the fresh, clean air and the sound of birds...just perfect. Then you step inside this wonderful house and all you can do is relax. It is so welcoming, warm, spotlessly clean, perfectly comfortable and somewhere you never want to leave! Dulcie and Gordon left a lovely welcome basket which was very much appreciated and enjoyed and they were available for help if we needed them. We loved the sitooterie, it was great to sit and listen to the birds with no other 'street' sound around. The beds were really comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the log fire was a lovely treat in the evenings. There are fantastic walks from the door and Aviemore is a short drive away with lots of activities and things to see and do. The annexe is amazing, the perfect bedsit and again, has everything you need! We LOVED Clach Mhor and honestly did not want to leave. A massive thank you to Dulcie and Gordon for sharing their gorgeous house in this beautiful part of the Highlands, it is just perfect.

  • "Wow! Simply Wow!"

This house is just amazing. It had everything we needed. We've stayed in plenty self catering accomodation with 2 kids and a dog but this house will take some beating. It has everything you need, a true home from home. We were spoilt for choice on what side of the house to sit out in, in the evening (even though it was snowing and freezing, but it was too nice not to do it). We had an amazing stay in February. We were so lucky with the weather because it snowed, we all had a great time! Plenty of walks straight from the house and the badgers were a bonus in the evening! The house is only a few miles from Aviemore and there are plenty of places to stock up for your stay. The hosts were amazing, so hospitable - when we arrived there had been so much snow that the access road could only be driven on with winter tyres, the hosts came and picked us up from the main road and transferred all of us, our luggage, our stocks and took us straight to the cottage. Thank you so so much, we can't wait to come back again.

  • "We have just spent a lovely week here."

The house is perfect and is finished to a beautiful spec. The views out to watch the birds and badgers is fab. On our arrival we spent our time watching the numerous birds at the feeders trying to identify them all. What a great start. There are lovely trails for walking or cycling through the forest directly from the house and nearby and a lovely cosy outside seating area for relaxing when you return. The owners were on hand to help with any questions we had and great suggestions for local walks and made us feel very welcome. We loved our stay here and will look forward to returning, hopefully soon.
