"The house had amazing views very close to all amenities and beautiful walks."
I would definitely stay there again. Perfect relaxing holiday.
"A lovely downstairs flat."
Plenty of room, dog friendly and private secure garden. Close to everything Dunkeld had to offer. Nice to see the river when in the kitchen. Very comfy beds. Due to being an old property bedrooms were a little damp. Enjoyed our stay and would use again
"Dunkeld is perfectly placed for exploring the amazing Perthshire countryside and towns, and no."
8 Cathedral Street is perfectly placed within Dunkeld. The cottage is clean and comfortable, and set in a peaceful corner of Dunkeld, but close to shops and, of course, the cathedral. There are a good number of very pleasant walks from the cottage, especially along the riverside, so a good number of days, we didn’t drive anywhere. We had no difficulty parking in Cathedral Street during our stay, although I can see that it might be tricky. We would definitely stay at no. 8 Cathedral Street again.
"Property was just great"
"We had a lovely stay here."
The location is perfect, it was very peaceful and there is lots to do locally, important for us as we were relying on public transport! Many thanks again.
"Enjoyed holiday tv reception spasmodic."
Not sure if caused by tv itself or reception.
"We stay in Dunkeld 2-3 times annually."
First stay at 8 Cathedral. We contacted your office wideway thru the stay to outline a few of the issues namely: There’s no freezer or dishwasher No cleaning products so had to go out and buy as unfortunately it’s not the cleanest of places We had a 10 day stay so needed to vacuum. The vile odour emitted from the vac was as my husband said ‘smells like vomit has been vacuumed up’ utterly disgusting. The garden was unkempt with cigarette butts scattered and overflowing waste bins On the Saturday of our stay the overhead neighbours teenage daughter held a party! noise from same was so loud we couldn’t hear our tv, after we spoke with them they agreed to turn down this lasted half an hour but resumed til midnight. You may want to note that this young woman informed us that she was moving into this apartment full time, god help anyone planning on a peaceful break. Overall without doubt our worst stay in Dunkeld
Dear Guest. First, id like to to say how sorry we are that your stay didn't meet your expectations. As you can see from our many great reviews, this is not the norm, and really far from it. When we spoke on the 2nd Saturday of your stay, reference the noise complaint, you had said that you thought party was over, and everyone had left the neighbours property, this was between 2030 and 2100. We also agreed that if the group returned later that night you would call me, and I could deal with the noise by contacting the young lady's Father, who, I found out ,had agreed to let her use the flat for her 18th birthday party. But as I didn't hear from you, I had thought everything was fine. You didn't mention any of the other issues to me at the time, but I'm happy to go through them for future guests peace of mind. No freezer or dishwasher - This was my flat in Dunkeld when I lived there; I always shopped local (I would encourage all guests to do this), so when re-doing the kitchen I went for the larger fridge, and as I lived alone I didn't see the need for a dishwasher and went for more storage space instead. As things need replacing, I will add items more suited to guests, but for now I will point you to the "Summary" section on the booking page where you will find a detailed list of all appliances. Cleaning products - this can mean different things to different people, but there is washing up liquid, cloths, scrubbers etc supplied, and other than that, the flat is cleaned on each change over. On longer stays, guests also have the option of a mid stay change over to suit their needs. Vacuum cleaner - this is a strange one. I had the cleaner check this, and was told that the bag was about 2/3 full but that there was nothing out of the ordinary. This is the vac the cleaner uses every week, but granted, sometimes things get missed, it also doesn't say in the feedback if the guest cleaned up whatever her husband could smell. Ether way, the bag has been changed and Henry is back in action. Garden - the grass is usually cut every two weeks. Unfortunately due to a personal mater, the gardener wasn't available, and there was a 3 -4 week period where the grass didn't get cut. I didn't know this until after the fact, but the dates align with the guests stay, so my apologies for that. The overflowing bins and cigarette ends are again more than likely due to the 18th birthday party. The bin for the property is emptied at change over, and guests also have the option to have the bins emptied on Tuesdays by local collection; the instructions and dates for this are on the notice board in the kitchen. I would also recommend anyone reading this to look on booking.com for two new positive reviews posted after Sue's stay . Unfortunately these no longer port over to the Sykes site. Property Owner
"A lovely cottage - in excellent location."
Well furnished and very comfortable. We missed having a freezer but otherwise cottage was well equipped. We would certainly come back again.
"Our stay was very comfortable."
Flat was clean , spacious, warm and well presented - had everything we needed for our stay. It's great to have Netflix for the evenings too. We had no problems with the signal. Very close to shops & hotels, and everythingyou need. Lovely riverside walks on your doorstep. Parking can be a bit tricky as it's a one-way street and there's not much space at the end to negotiate a 3 point turn - but I managed! Garden looked a little tired and sparce, could do with a bit sprucing up, the gate could do with some paint - but my golden retreiver had a safe green space to play in, so no complaints from her! Overall, a fab stay! So fab, we're booked up again for next year!
"Had a wonderful week in Dunkeld, have stayed in this propeety previously, there was no outside light working to the front of the property and hinges and door handles to some of the rooms needed a bit of lubrication (a bit squeaky) won't put us off returning."
"We have stayed in this cottage a couple of times now & it has been the best accommodation we have stayed in when visiting Dunkeld."
We will be back.
"The property is excellent well equipped very comfortable and has all you need for the perfect holiday amazing location everything on your doorstep."
"We loved our stay at 8 Cathedral Street, so central and handy for everything within Dunkeld and such a beautiful spot so close to the river."
I would highly recommend!
"What can i say it was 5 stars all the way."
Would be back again.owner should be very proud of house.
"Fabulous holiday in a great location."
Cathedral Street is comfortable and well equipped and we enjoyed the lovely, and unexpected, welcome pack. Dunkeld is lovely ~ great places to eat(we particularly enjoyed the Tapas Bar) and so central which enabled us to explore this lovely part of the country.
"Ideal location close to the Cathedral."
Comfortable and well equipped flat. So many great walks around the area,we were spoiled for choice.

Absolutely brilliant, had a fantastic week in Dunkeld, cannot recommend this listing highly enough, we will certainly be back
"8 Cathedral Street is a wonderful two bedroom cottage."
We have already booked for another visit. Can’t wait to spend some more quality time in the cottage & Dunkeld
"Great location just brilliant, fab property, 20 seconds walk and you were on the banks of the river Tay."
Local pub 1 minute walk, very friendly. All good, we have stayed in Dunkeld many times and we will be back.
"Absolutely beautiful house and stunning view from kitchen window of the Tay Nice village and the Perth hotel fabulous food."
One local shop an antique one very rood shop assistant or owner.
"Comfortable, cosy accommodation in a quiet area in the town"
"Lovely apartment, very well situated in Dunkeld, and very clean."
Central for so many attractions. We had a really nice break in what is a very nice part of Perthshire.
"Lovely cosy cottage in a great location!"
"The accommodation was absolutely perfect in every way."
Well equipped and so handy for all the local amenities and gorgeous views over the River Tay from the garden. Would definitely recommend this accommodation and would love to return again soon!
"Great place in a lovely location!"
Town has all you need and you can walk for miles based there. Love it. Great for the dogs .
"Lovely, peaceful cottage in the heart of the village; cosy and comfy and nice to come home to at the end of a day touring around beautiful Perthshire."
Enjoyed our week in Dunkeld. Friendly people and many great dog walks. Fab!
"Had a lovely break at 8 Cathedral Street - we’ll definitely be back!"
"The owner did everything to make us feel welcome and we had a lovely holiday."
"Yeah having resident above was not ideal."
Thankfully for 3 nights they must have been away but for final 2 nights loud beating music was playing well past midnight on both occasions. If they where there all nights this would have been a real issue. Also dog hair was still evident on the living room rug. Overall nice wee apartment - well furnished and great location. Pity about the neighbours above. We will return to Dunkeld but unfortunately (and only due to neighbours) would not revisit this property.
"Only slight problem noise from neighbour in upstairs flat not used to that"
"We had a lovely weekend and the flat was ideally located and had everything we needed."
Our only issue was a lot of noise from the upstairs neighbours
"Group of friends on holiday and this accommodation was just perfect for our needs."
We'll laid our and comfortable.
"The cottage itself is really nice: 1) Location is fantastic."
Very central to the village. Walking distance to the river, some local walks, butchers, bakery and salmon shop. 2) Cleanliness - the cottage was extremely clean which was nice to see on arrival. 3) Lovely warm cottage - there's a nice electric fire to warm the living room. 4) Internet - good speed to stream TV and use your phone 5) Beds - really comfy 6) Nice welcoming gifts - wine and treats on arrival. Just 2 negatives, the first of which would unfortunately put us off coming back to this lovely apartment. 1) Noisy and rude neighbours live upstairs. This was the only real negative of our holiday, but spoiled parts of our trip. The people that live upstairs (not holiday let) are noisy and were also rude towards us. On multiple occasions throughout our holiday, there was extremely loud music playing (causing the ceiling to vibrate) - we escaped the noise by watching our laptop in the second bedroom, but this isn't what you want to do on your holiday! The first time this happened was on our first morning (Saturday), which started playing at around 8.30am! It's worth being aware that their floorboards are creaky so you can head their children / dog running around upstairs. You can also hear their TV when it's on. If you want a quiet, peaceful location, I'd seriously consider this one is for you, as it would be difficult to have a long lie in with the noise made upstairs. The man that lives upstairs was rude towards us on a few occasions, making snide remarks towards us under his breathe and sniggering at us when we saw him outside, not like the rest of the really friendly people in the rest of Dunkeld. 2) Parking - limited free parking on the road (it's a narrow street and hard to turn your car around on unless it's small).
"A lovely,, well equipped cottage in a great location."
However, as it was an apartment, there was noise from upstairs, which made our dog bark quite a bit, which in turn must’ve annoyed the people upstairs. We did have a lovely holiday though in a beautiful part of the world.
"Great little house next to the great river Tay."
Great walks with the dog closeby.
"We had a wonderful time."
"We had the pleasure of spending Christmas at 8 Cathedral street Dunkeld."
our aim was to rent something small and cosy as it was just 3 of us staying. I was blown away by the apartment. very clean cosy and everything you need for a holiday we even received a beautiful little hamper which went down very nicely. We are familiar with Dunkeld as our son wife and young family live locally.so we were able to enjoy the lovely walks right on our door step and stand on the embankment of The Tay with our morning cup of tea with not a care in the world.so thank you so very much we have had an amazing Christmas and will be booking 8 Cathedral street again. happy new year to you all with Regards Diane and Mark Duffield kent.
"Great property in a village that we know well which has everything."
Always something different to do, lots going on in the village also. Area lovely and nice scenic walks. Booked cottage for next year with the dog too.
"Location is great just down from the Cathedral, however the downside is that it means constant people walking past the front and side of the house which if you've got a dog that's territorial it's not the best."
The heating was off and despite trying to boost it as per the manual it still wouldn't come on. It may be summer but it's still Scotland! Dunkeld has some great walks though so we had a great time
"We had a great week."
We visit Dunkeld often and usually stay at a lodge in erigmore but now that we have found this little gem this will be our first go to
"2nd time this year I've rented this property and would strongly recommend it as excellent value for money."
Excellent property in an excellent location
"The good bits."
Very nice welcoming goody basket. This is a delightful well furnished and laid out flat. It is thoughtfully kitted out, spotlessly clean and comfortable. There is lots of useful information on what to do and where to go, and also on the equipment in the flat. The flat is a hop skip and a jump away from shops, river, playpark, and Cathedral. Cathedral Street must have the highest concentration of Historical or Architectural Award plaques in the country. Dunkeld is a lovely historical village, bustling by day and tranquil by evening, and full of friendly people. Great chippy. It is a excellent centre for exploration in all directions. Don't be put off by on-street parking. It can be busy during the day but you are spoiled for choice from early evening on. The “bad” bits. The frying pan is twisted and you have to keep chasing your eggs uphill. The mirrors are too high for vertically challenged people. The door handles squeak and need oiled. The upside to this is that you get warning of a small child on an early morning tickle mission. We (Granny, Grampa, Mummy and 4 year old) will be happy gto go back again.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay , the cottage was very comfortable ."
We were very lucky as the weather was excellent during our stay , and therefore the garden was a huge bonus and and was a real suntrap and useful because of our dog who also loved her stay . The table and chairs was really useful and enabled us to eat outside . Very central for all local amenities and walks . The one comment is that as soneone who likes to cook , the kitchen could do with more utensils as had no serving spoons at all , The back door sticks on opening and had scratched the floor . The lock did not always open easily with the key , and we all felt was not the most secure with just a basic Yale lock on a door with alot of glass .
"Beautiful place, loved the view."
Extremely convenient. Had everything we needed and more!
"We have stayed near Dunkeld on previous occasions but never in Dunkeld itself."
8 Cathedral Street was perfect for exploring this beautiful area. A view of the river Tay from the kitchen window is a perfect way to start the day waiting for the kettle to boil. The garden is small and enclosed perfectly safe for our dog and the sturdy picnic table meant coffee in the sunshine, lunch outside and pre evening nibbles and drinks were all in a perfect setting. The location was absolutely perfect for exploring the town and walking from the front door without needing to take the car out. Having space to park the car near the cottage was also a positive benefit. The cottage is very well appointed and really comfortable. We will certainly be rebooking for next year.
"The cottage was beautiful and in a perfect place near to the river banks and a park for the dog."
Dunkeld is a gorgeous, very dog friendly place and would definitely revisit!
"The location was great, the apartment was very nicely furnished and comfortable."
The problem we had was with the noise from the apartment above. There was lots of moving around and general "lumping " about, but it was at 11 pm to well after midnight and again at 5:30 am to after 7 am, and this was every night. We're not unreasonable people - they could well be working folk, not holiday makers, but by the end of the week we were shattered from lack of sleep. This is not what we go on holiday for. It is such a shame, as everything else was as good as it could have been, but we won't book this apartment again for this reason.
"Overall my family and I were happy with the cottage."
I had lived there over 20 years ago and it brought up a lot of good memories. One thing that I think you need o be aware of is the condensation in the bathroom was a lot. To the point that we often found a puddle of water under the loo and sink in the morning from the collection over the night. Also leaning back against the water tank of the loo was not advised as this was often also wet with condensation. I am not sure how you could sort it out but I would advise you to look into it. Overall the cottage has been done up in a lovely way. Thank you
"Nice clean cottage in a lovely location."
Had a fab week and would certainly book this cottage again. Welcome treats were a lovely surprise. Thanking you for them and your lovely cottage. Hope to be back again soon.
"Gorgeous location, beautifully furnished, lovely and clean."
Really enjoyed our holiday as did our dog. We would definitely rebook in the future.
"Great holiday in Dunkled."
