  • "The house was lovely and well equipped."

It was a lovely surprise to find the hot tub in the garden.

  • "A lovely property, clean and spacious."

The only thing that would enhance it would be some garden furniture and a bbq. Though the lack of these did not detract from us having a great time.

  • "Strombos was as described, lots of room."

one of the warmest properties we have ever stayed in, we had to turn heating down to be comfortable. Very well equipped. Altogether a very nice property in a pleasant Highland village with a well stocked reasonably priced shop.

  • "Wonderful house, spotlessly clean and cosy."

The beds were the most comfortable have ever slept in! Ideal for us four adults and two grandkids. Situation perfect for walking to village centre and interesting craft shops, museum, coffee shops etc. Excellent playgrounds for the kids in village and so many walks for our collie dog. Definitely would return and recommend.

  • "Fantastic house so clean and comfortable."

The dining room table is stunning and the kitchen was such a fab space and really well equipped. Excellent walks on your doorstep, the circular walk was perfect for an early morning dog walks. The house was really warm even without the heating on! It really felt like the house had been really well cleaned which under the current circumstances was really reassuring. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend the house.

  • "We drove up from London in August 2020."

The house was everything we could have hoped for. Located in a gorgeous and friendly village surrounded by the beautiful Glenlivet Estate. The house itself was very clean, spacious and well-equipped. They even left us enough dishwasher and washing machine tablets. We have no negatives about the place. The rooms were large and very comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed (the fridge could do with being a bit colder). There was a separate area for muddy boots after long walks and off road parking around the back. We would definitely come back to Strombos. The snug could easily make a 5th bedroom as we didn’t use it as a TV room. Strombos was a wonderful base from which to explore the Cairngorms- the village is lovely and the local shop has all the essentials. We had a Tesco shop delivered to us on our first day and topped up at the local shop as needed. The Tomintoul Circular Walk is worth doing on arrival to get a sense of the village and surrounding areas - an easy walk with some beautiful views from the viewpoint. After a day of walking and cycling, we looked forward to the evening at Strombos. The dark sky site at the field of hope is easy to walk or drive to for some stargazing. A wonderful and much needed break. We hope to return next summer.
