Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. Property Owner Reviewed by MargaretApr 2022 "During our stay the boiler did not work for three days, no heating, no hot water." This was disappointing and for the first time won’t be returning to the cottage. I would also ask for some financial compensation for the disruption caused to our holiday. Reviewed by BarryOct 2021 "Great location for shops and restaurants." Bright airy rooms . Thought one toilet roll for 3 people over 3 days was a bit stingy. Other Sykes cottages have left milk and bread too. It wouldn’t put us off returning Thank you for your feedback. The housekeepers normally leave minimum two rolls so we will address this. In addition milk and Welsh cakes are normally left for all guests - apologies if this didn’t happen - we will look into this. Many thanks Property Owner Reviewed by KarenSep 2021 "The only issue we had which could easily rectified was the facilities in the kitchen." There were no cleaning facilities so we had to buy j cloths, dishwasher tablets, tea towel etc. Many of the crockery only came in sets of 4 although the house slept 6. The microwave instructions didn’t seem to match the microwave. We have raised this with our housekeeper as it is normal protocol for dishwasher tablets, jay cloth, washing up liquid, bin bags, tea towels to be left for guests so we are unsure why this didn’t happen. The crockery issue has also been addressed. Thank you for highlighting these points. Property Owner Reviewed by CatherineSep 2021 "We had a wonderful stay at Anvil Cottage." Very clean and comfortable beds. The cottage was spacious and garden very secure for dogs. Could do with more kitchen utensils (no grater or potato masher and tongs broken) we left a cheese grater! Parking an issue but to be expected in a busy town. We would recommend this property and would return again. Thank you for the lovely feedback. Property Owner Reviewed by MichaelAug 2021 "The cottage was exceptionally clean and furnished to a very high standard." It was comfortable, modern, light and airy and very well placed for everything Beaumaris has to offer. It really was beautiful. We would not hesitate to recommend it to others or to book it again. A minor problem: There were no instructions in the property for how to operate the oven/grill. Many numbers/symbols had rubbed off round the dials making it hard to read. The suggestion to "Google the instructions" was too difficult as there was no model number visible on the oven, so we didn't know which set of instructions to download from the large selection available online. This is no criticism of the property owners, but of the Sykes departure policy - and therefore not for publication: The 9am departure was very, very challenging and we feel, unreasonable and unnecessary. Add it to the fact that you aren't allowed to arrive on day 1 until after 5pm, and you have effectively lost an entire day's holiday! Maybe a reduction in the amount you charge to stay in your properties would be fair? I know, full well, that I would not require 8 HOURS to clean and prepare a 3- bedroom semi (even with extra covid precautions) - and if I did, then it would surely be fairer to employ more cleaners, than deprive holiday-makers of time in their (very expensive) holiday let. We have 2 small children, plus a dog and had been requested to strip all the beds, gather up all bedding and towels etc and place in the bathroom. This took some considerable time in the morning. It also meant we had to sadly spend our final evening packing and preparing, ready to get up extremely early to clean the kitchen, strip the beds etc (all the things that couldn't be done the night before) Also, parking is very difficult (which we knew when booking), which adds pressure because we were only able to bring the car round to the property for 5 minutes prior to leaving, to park it on double yellow lines while we hastily filled the car with all our possessions. This needs to be taken into account when deciding departure times. We have stayed in 3 properties his Summer (in Wales) and this is the only one where we were asked to leave so early. Thank you for your feedback. The check out time has now been moved to 10 am as per pre pandemic. We really appreciate you taking time to review the house and have addressed the issues you raised. Property Owner Reviewed by JAug 2021 "Excellent property." It took us a while to locate the fiitings for the stair gate though. One of the dining chairs was a bit wobbly but over all extremely good. Thank you Thank you for your feedback, it is appreciated. Property Owner Reviewed by StephanieJul 2021 "Great cottage." Conveniently placed and very comfortable. All we needed was there. Everything was easy to use. Would definitely return if I was going back to Beaumaris. Thank you for your lovely feedback - it’s very much appreciated. Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks.
