  • "Gorgeous week spent in Beaumaris, everything about the cottage was perfect."

The cottage was spotless when we arrived and the space of every room was so much more than we expected. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking to stay here.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write a lovely review about Bay Tree Cottage. We think it’s a gorgeous spot in Beaumaris, too! Property Owner

  • "Delightful little cottage, beautifully presented."

Quality fittings and equipment. At this time of year, thankfully the parking wasn't too much of an issue and unloading and loading the car wasn't a problem. Great location for 2/3 minute walk to shops, restaurants and the Pier for boat trips. We would return.

Thanks for taking the time to review the cottage. So pleased you enjoyed being there and all that Beaumaris has to offer! Property Owner

Parking on street on a first come served would recommend parking on main carpark £35 per week but are assured of a parking spot.

Thanks so much for your lovely feedback. It’s great to know that you enjoyed your time at Bay Tree Cottage. Property Owner

  • "This is a nicely appointed, very comfortable cottage, near to shops and eateries in Beaumaris."

The fixtures and fittings are high quality and tasteful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Ideally placed for visiting National Trust properties and Cadw sites. The weather was particularly kind so we managed 3 coastal walks in 5 days. We would recommend as an ideal place to stay on Anglesey.

  • "Cottage is beautiful."

Bed is so comfortable. Kitchen well equipped. Only disappointment there was no microwave. Lovely bakery on corner so fresh cornbread every day. Beautiful cakes. Everything on your doorstep. Parking can be a challenge. First come fist serve. So a few drives round and round until we found somewhere. Overall I would go back it is a beautiful cottage

  • "We had a most enjoyable visit to this property and would recommend it to others ."

However , there are some points which require attention : (1) The toilet seat is seriously loose and needs prompt repair to avoid any risk of injury or damage . A note to this effect was left for the cleaner . (2) The walk-in shower is fine but there is no non-slip mat for the shower tray which is very smooth and slippery . (3) There is no fixed tray/basket for toiletries when showering . (4) A wall-mounted safety handle would be welcome for elderly users like ourselves . We trust this is helpful and avoids any Health & Safety issues for other users .

Glad you enjoyed your stay at Bay Tree Cottage. Thanks you for your useful feedback, which has enabled us to address some of the issues. Property Owner

  • "Parking was extremely challenging and a downside to the stay."

The two motorbikes parked outside all week in the bay was most irritating. The accommodation was very well appointed with everything and more in the kitchen.

Sorry to hear about your parking issues. Unfortunately very few properties in Beaumaris have private parking, but it is usually possible to find somewhere to park in the neighbouring streets if it isn’t possible outside the cottage. Property Owner

  • "Brilliant stay, felt straight at home as soon as we arrived, everything you need is in the cottage, it is very cosy and I didn't want to leave."

The cottage is located in a cute little town with loads of amenities near by, everything you need is within walking distance. The bakery is at the end of the road and lots of nice pubs near by too. Only 25 minute drive to Snowdonia, we went to Zipworld which was amazing. Also recommend going to Beaumaris Castle. Parking is the only downside but we managed to find spaces a short walk away. I would 100% recommend to other people and would love to go back in the future. Thank you for a great stay.

  • "The property was lovely and well cared for."

The only problem was that we were there in late September. The heating was preset to only come on for a short period morning and evening. It was fairly chilly and the gas fire didn't work. Therefore it was quite uncomfortable to sit in when we had bad weather and unable to go out. We spent a few evenings wrapped in the throws from the bedrooms.

  • "Bay Tree Cottage and the town of Beaumaris were excellent."

The cottage was as described and very clean. No complaints at all about the cottage. Beaumaris is a lovely town with lots to do. It has various types of restaurants available and a number of really nice pubs. There is a small supermarket in the main street, a deli next door and a number of gift shops nearby. All of them only an 8 minutes walk from the cottage. There are a number of pubs available with two really good pubs, just a 5 minute walk from the cottage. One a traditional wooden beams old style pub and the other across the road a modern hotel pub/lounge bar. About 75 yards away from the cottage is a good Chinese Takeaway, if you can't be bothered cooking. It only takes 25 minutes to drive into the heart of Snowdonia. So if walking the hills is your thing this cottage is ideal. Parking outside the cottage could be an issue high season, but we had no problems getting parked directly outside all week. There is only one thing I would liked added to the cottage and that is a microwave. Its so much easier to microwave frozen food, than use the oven or a pot of boiling water. Apart from that I has a lovely stay and would stay again in the future.

Excellent property, renovated to an extremely high standard but in keeping with the style of the original building, minutes from center of town , pubs ,shops , takeaways , etc , lots of local history to see, parking a bit of a issue ,can park on green at five pounds for 24 hour, no problem for us but anyone with mobility problems might struggle, would definitely recommend and will re-book,

So glad you enjoyed staying in Bay Tree Cottage and appreciated all that Beaumaris has to offer. Parking can be tricky especially at busy times of the year like bank holidays, but the Green is a good solution as you pointed out. Property Owner

  • "Bay Tree Cottage was simply lovely."

Everything was done to a really high spec, making it both comfortable and attractive. The cottage was clean, had everything we needed and the location was fantastic. The little terrace at the back is a lovely sun trap. We would definitely stay at Bay Tree Cottage again. Only small point of feedback was the parking, there is a disabled bay directly in front of the cottage and we found parking in the immediate vicinity impossible despite being so early in the season. However, parking on Beaumaris green was reasonably priced and not much of a walk at all, so it wasn't really a problem.

Many thanks for your feedback and so pleased you enjoyed Bay Tree Cottage! The disabled marking in front of the cottage was for a previous resident. It is no longer valid, so you're free to park there if the space is available. Property Owner

Glad you'd be happy to return to Bay Tree Cottage! Parking outside the cottage isn't always available, but you can normally find a space not too far away. Alternatively, there is plentiful parking on Beaumaris Green nearby for a small daily fee. Property Owner

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
