  • "Upon arrival the cottage seemed fine, but during the evening we tried to use the TV to no avail."

I contacted the owner who wasn't much help. So we had no tv. We noticed a lot of dust & fluff under the settee, also cobwebs up the staircase. The quilts on the beds were very thick, ideal for winter use. The was no plug on the bathroom sink on the first floor. Parking was quite a way from the cottage. We left last Saturday 13th July after only one night, i tried to contact the owner, but had to leave a voice message, he never returned my call. All in all we were very disappointed in the cottage and would not recommend it to a friend

Thanks for your feedback Christine. You said in your voice message that you had to leave early because of a family emergency at home. It was after this that you proceeded to say there was dust under the sofa. To then score our cottage a 1.6 is a bit unnecessary, as we had no idea pf otber issues such as a duvet cover that was "too thick" or that you were struggling with the lack of plugs around the bathroom sink.In my opinion, you were looking for reimbursement for the fact you had to leave early, which unfortunately is something we can't control and therefore dont feel we need to compensate. Thanks Property Owner

  • "Lovely property in an excellent location."

Found the property to be very clean and comfortable nicely located to the town centre and the beach. We would stay here again when visiting this area and have already recommended to our friends.

Thank you so much for your feedback Roger and Val. Really glad to hear you enjoyed your trip and found the house to clean and comfortable. We look forward to hosting you again. All the best, Stuart Property Owner

  • "We reported back to you regarding the facts that the TV was not working and we could not get to watch any programs but nobody come back to us."

Due to this we left early

Hi Colin, thanks for your feedback and really sorry you left early. Neither my partner or I had any contact regarding any problems. Had we been made aware, one of us would come to assist straight away. The following guests haven't reported any issues. There are booklets available in the house, to help guests with any issues. The accommodation was well maintained, clean, comfortable and cosy. There was plenty of free on street parking virtually on the door step and really interesting area, full of history.

  • "We stayed at Gwel y Mor recently for 2 nights whilst attending my grandmothers funeral in the town."

We used the house mainly as a base at night. We were familiar with the property as my sister has previously hired it and we were impressed with what it had to offer, hence why we chose to hire it this time around, we knew what we were getting. Perfectly located within the town, a 2 minute walk to all the towns facilities and shops/pubs. On road parking is available but limited. The house was immaculately clean and tidy however the only downside was when we walked into the house there was a musty odour coming from the hallway- the only way I can describe it is like a bucket of dirty mop water had been spilt on the carpets and allowed to dry. It didn’t affect us as we were only in the house for a small amount of time however if we were there longer it certainly would have put me off. It may be wise to find the source of the odour and rectify it for future guests. The house comfortably sleeps 6 and there is space in the top double bedroom for a travel cot (not provided by the house). Excellent kitchen facilities. Lovely coffee machine in the master bedroom although we did not use this. Excellent check in time (3pm) and check out time (10am). Towels and bed linens provided. It may be worth leaving some instructions in the house- contact details, check in/out times etc. When my sister has previously stayed these were readily available but not this time. I read some previous reviews regarding the house next door undergoing some renovation and builders being noisy- builders were present undertaking works for the duration of our stay however were quiet and it didn’t affect the stay. A beautiful house and We would stay again. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your feedback Zara, and really sorry to hear the reasoning for your visit. I'm glad that you found the house and its facilities to your liking. I am however, very concerned with the comment on the odour so I will be at the house this week to find the source and rectify it. Glad it didnt effect your stay too much. Stuart Property Owner

The property was not very clean at all no contact details no guest book for feedback no welcome pack not even milk was not the best at all shame really in a lovely spot near to everything beaumaris was lovely and the pub the Liverpool Arms does great food

Thank you for your feedback. We were very disappointed that you felt the property was not clean enough. We don't receive negative feedback with regards to cleanliness, so this came as quite a shock. We did offer to send a cleaner round during your stay to ensure the property was cleaned again but the offer wasn't accepted. With regards to milk, we assume that guests would bring their own food and drink, but it is perhaps something we could look at in the future. Property Owner

  • "Fantastic location and beautifully clean property."

Beds were comfy. The property is in need of a little TLC and we were particularly disappointed with the outdoor area, which was a bit of a mess. Host was very quick responding to me when we couldn’t find the towels though.

Thank you for your feedback Hannah, really pleased you found the property to be clean and in a good location for your needs. I will be re decorating the property now the quieter months are up on us, so will hopefully see you again Property Owner

  • "Property was ideal l9cation."

Accommodation was nice. Only suggestions are that the upstairs rooms and toilet need mirrors as we found it difficult getting ready as we were all waiting to use mirrors. (Drying hair, applying make up). Plenty of sockets so maybe put mirrors above. Also maybe put dressing table and mirror on tge small landing area. Would def stay here again.

Thank you for your feedback Christine. Really helpful. The property will be re decorated over the quieter months, so we will certainly put some more mirrors up as per your suggestion. Hopefully see you again soon Property Owner

  • "The garden was shared this was not in the listing."

Outside the property cars beeped their horns due to bend in the road this happened late at night and early in the morning. Builders next door drilling every morning no chance of a lie in on a holiday. Bulbs missing in dining room lights. Tv not working in bedroom. Batteries missing from remote. We did report this whilst we were there but no response back. This is our second of three holidays with you this year, not impressed by previous property and not by this one. We have one left and then after being a customer for 18 years WE WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Thank you for your feedback Claire. I really sympathise with your point with regards to building work next door, and can only apologise for this. We weren't made aware of any work being undertaken, and unfortunately we wouldn't have been able to stop it regardless. Unfortunately, nearly every street in Beaumaris is narrow which adds to its charm, however due to this street noise is common. With regards to a shared garden, this is common with old townhouses, however the garden is not actually shared, only the steps leading to it. The property has it's own outside area. The house has 2x 42inch SMART TVs, and since your visit and feedback we have installed cable aerials, allowing guests to watch all mainstream tele, rather than the streaming channels you experienced. I can only apologise that your visit didn't live up to your expectations Property Owner

Thanks for your feedback Colin, and glad you found the location excellent. We have now installed cable aerials, so the TVs are easier to work. Sorry if this caused any inconvenience for you and hopefully see you again soon Property Owner

  • "Nice property and handy for Beaumaris High Street."

No welcome pack at all, not even a tiny bit of tea/coffee/sugar , no visitor book or instructions on the smart TV which drove us mad!. The bedrooms had a hanging rail but no drawers or anywhere to put things so we had to live out of a suitcase for a week.No major issues but it just generally felt like the owner didn't really care about his guests. There was a sheet of paper which said to contact him with any problems but it had no contact details on it! On a plus note the shower was fabulous and the beds were comfortable.

  • "The house was really well maintained, clean and tidy, and it appeared that the furniture and fittings were new."

There is nothing we could complain about. Our only suggestion is that a shower mat be provided as the floor of the shower is very slippery when wet. We would certainly visit the property again. Tony and Pauline.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
