“Your description as follows is very misleading - "At the back of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard, ideal for sitting out for a morning cuppa" The courtyard is not an ideal place to sit for a morning cuppa - very high walls , no view, used to store bins /buckets etc , only 2 seats , back yard is a better description , courtyard to us suggests a pretty pleasant area.”

Other than that a very comfortable , extremely well equipped and clean house - a pleasure to stay. On a general note there is a review of another property Ty N Cae which needs removing .

'We are sorry that you were disappointed with the enclosed yard at Hafod - but you make a good point. The thing is that Hafod is a traditional, possibly fisherman's, cottage, and the yard was probably a useful area at the time. As owners, we usually take our 'morning cuppa', evening glass of wine, or even a picnic, just across the road to the quiet promenade. There you can sit on the grass or on the benches and watch the boats on the Strait from the water's edge.' - Sykes owner relations

The property

Hafod is a holiday cottage in a spectacular setting in the seaside village of Beaumaris with views of the Menai Strait with Snowdonia as a backdrop.

To keep the coastal theme, inside is decorated in relaxing blue and white tones.

There is so much to see and do right on your doorstep that you might not need to get in the car again after your arrival! You enter onto the ground floor where you’ll find a twin bedroom with views and a shower room with corner shower, loo, wash hand basin and heated towel rail.

There is also a large cloakroom which houses the washing machine and additional fridge/freezer. The living space on the first floor is open plan and includes the kitchen, dining and sitting areas.

The window seat is a great spot for relaxing and watching the boats bob on the Strait opposite.

There are two comfy sofas and a chair set around the decorative feature fireplace.

For entertainment there’s a flat screen TV, DVD player and an assortment of books, jigsaws and games. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and toaster.

A dining table seats six.

On this same floor is a bathroom with a bath with hand-held shower attachment, loo, wash hand basin and radiator. On the second floor are two double rooms and a bunk room each of which have window seats and the most wonderful sea and mountain views. At the back of the holiday cottage is a small enclosed courtyard.

There is a grassy promenade opposite the cottage where you could always take a bench and have a picnic or a glass of wine and watch the world go by. Beaumaris is a popular and picturesque coastal town on Anglesey.

You could visit the castle, the gaol, museums, galleries, and antique shops.

You can crab off the pier, jump on a boat ride to see the Puffins, spend a day on a beach nearby or stroll to one of the many pubs and restaurants.

There are events all year round so you’ll not be short of things to see and do!

If you do want to venture further afield, you can head north for amazing beaches and sweet little villages, venture west for Newborough forest for the red squirrels, or even enjoy a day in Snowdonia.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
