  • "We felt very comfortable at Swn y Mor."

The kitchen was well equipped and it was nice to be able to sit out in the pretty garden. The bedrooms were quiet and it was a bonus to have an ensuite as well as the main bathroom. The location was good and we only had trouble parking outside when we arrived on Friday afternoon.

  • "Overall a good standard of accommodation."

Well stocked kitchen, for cooking etc. and additional day out equipment. Fantastic location near to all amenities and other locations. If I could suggest any improvements, it would be to provide a black out blind in the all bedroom, as really not adequate. Mattress very lumpy with springs coming through. Boiler setting impossible to work, always coming on every 15 minutes which then produced banging/creaking/rattling through the pipes and walls, which on the first .night kept us all awake. Also furniture needs updating throughout. Otherwise an enjoyable stay.

Well-equipped and comfortable. Nicely furnished. Had no trouble parking on street even if on other side of the road. Location is good for exploring Beaumaris and Anglesey generally.

Very central for shops , pubs, castle, prison , pier and beach . All within walking distance . Great to have a base to return to during the day and then go back out. Cottage was very comfortable, lovely garden space. Parking was not a problem as cars moved regularly so could get in. Well equipped kitchen , went as a family with grandparents and teens. All enjoyed their stay. Cottage was equipped with items for youngsters , books, games etc. We had ideal weather which was a bonus. Would recommend this cottage to anyone. Thank you

About the location

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
