  • "We had the most perfect holiday in this beautiful house!"

Everything was perfect for three generations to spend time together but also have their own space! We loved it that much that we extended our stay we really didn’t want to go home! We will definitely be coming back!.x

  • "An outstanding property, well specified and really well maintained."

Decor is more than tasteful, and furnishings/fixtures of really high quality. But the character of the place takes it to another level. It's quirky and a real talking point and I'm sure there's more to the property than we were able to experience. (In the end, our party was much reduced due to Covid so there were rooms we didn't utilise much and of course the Welsh weather in December meant we weren't in the garden that much :-) !). But a great place, and a great time. And a lovely touch from the owners to have decorated the place with Christmas decs and a tree to really help us celebrate Christmas there in Beaumaris ! Thank you !

  • "There was no towels in 2 of the rooms and the indoor signage was both annoying and condescending."

The house was a great size with plenty of areas to spread out in. Location was great.

Thankyou for your feedback and we're happy to hear that you enjoyed the house and location. We provide two towels per guest noted within every booking and we strive ourselves to maintain high standards therefore we would have been happy to deliver additional towels should you have contacted us during your stay. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your comments. Property Owner

We all loved being in the centre of Beaumaris as it is a really fab town to spend a holiday.

  • "The Hideaway is a great option for a large group of friends with 3 areas for dining and sitting including the garden plus it’s a very short walk to restaurants and shops."

The owners have clearly enjoyed decorating the house and it’s very charming, comfortable and well equipped. My advice to guests would be to take earplugs if you’re a light sleeper and not used to the sound of guls and not to put a phone addicted teenager in the downstairs bedroom due to poor phone and Wi-fi reception. Our group all loved the house and would rebook in the future.

  • "Once we entered the house we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the property, the garden and amenities."

It is fitted with all the household items you have in your own home and therefore makes for a comfortable stay. We were 2 families comprising of 8 people and 1 dog, there was plenty of room for us to move around very comfortably and also eat dinner together at the dining table in the evening. The owners had left us a bottle of red wine and biscuits which was a lovely touch. When we arrived we were taken aback by the exterior of the property and a touch up would definitely improve the curb appeal and match the interior. Some of the furniture also needs a 'spring' clean, however considering the price and facilities I would recommend the property and is the reason why I've rated it as 'exceeded expectations'. A 5pm check-in and 9am check-out are quite late / early so some flexibility would help. However, appreciate that a good clean is required between guests if they are booked back-to-back.

  • "Sykes are great to book with, regular, concise and relevant communication."

There customer service team are also very friendly and helpful. Our break at The Hideaway surpassed our expectations. The house is beautifully furnished and well equipped, in a great location a small walk from the town centre and front. There is plenty of space in the house and we enjoyed cooking during our visit. Parking in Beaumaris is on the street but free. There are plenty of pubs, cafes and eateries near by and a wonderful bakery and butchers too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Great base to tour anglesey.

  • "The holiday house was excellent."

We couldn't fault it. It was beautifully furnished and very well equipped. We just had some problems working out (what appeared to some of us) high-tec television systems and felt there could have been some clearer instructions - we left this feedback for the owners. Otherwise we loved the property and the area and would very much like to return.

The property

The Hideaway cleverly combines a blend of traditional features with a contemporary design which makes this holiday house really special.

Light floods into every level of the house with the clever use of sun tunnels and sky lights and luxurious furnishings and fittings ensure that this house will suit all ages.

The kitchen is the heart of the house.

It is kitted out with all the modern commodities, including a Rangemaster with a 5 burner hob, American style fridge freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster and kettle.

The breakfast room and snug is a great space that opens onto the kitchen and garden.

Think of continental breakfasts with the morning breeze wafting through the house, coffee and a book in the snug, plans afoot around the breakfast table and daydreamers with their feet up in the garden.

The snug has its own log burning stove, sound system, flat screen TV with BT YouView and DVD player.

The dining room is fit for any feast.

Perfect for entertaining the whole family or you could opt for a book-a-cook one evening to take away the stress of cooking yourself.

The bright and light sitting room offers so many comfy seating options.

Two sets of French doors lead out to the garden, but on chilly days the double log burning stove will ensure that you stay warm.

There is a large flat screen TV with BT YouView, DVD player and soundbar speaker.

Leading from the sitting room is a utility room with a washing machine, tumble dryer, Belfast sink and downstairs loo.

It has direct access to the garden which makes it an ideal space to keep muddy boots and soggy paws out of the rest of the house.

The first bedroom is on the ground floor.

This cosy double room has a king size bed and ensuite.

There is also a spacious walk in shower room with dressing area, loo and hand basin on the ground floor.

There are four further double bedrooms upstairs.

A twin with zip and link option (to be made as a superking on request) and two with king size beds, one of which is ensuite with a luxurious Japanese soaking bath with shower over, loo and hand basin.

The top floor has a cute eaves bedroom with twin beds (please note that ceiling height is limited).

The family bathroom has a double ended slipper bath, hand basin and loo.

Both bathrooms upstairs have underfloor heating.

The peaceful garden which is at the rear of the property is fully enclosed and beautifully planted with a variety of seating options. The beautiful Parish Church can be seen from the garden and you are a short walk from the fantastic array of cafes, shops and restaurants that Beaumaris has to offer.

Coastal and country walks are right on your doorstep, and lush green golf courses and spectacular sandy beaches are within close proximity.

Even the Snowdon Mountain Range is within a 40 minute drive. Please be aware that the bins must be left out as per the instructions in the house and the BBQ must be left in a clean state or a proportion of your housekeeping deposit may be retained (£25 for the bins and £50 for the BBQ).

About the location

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
