  • "Property is fantastic."

Everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The welcome basket was great, perfect for us getting there a little later at night - gave us the essentials that meant we could have a cuppa and breakfast the next morning (and then do a full shop!). The Old Tannery is so quiet and yet so central. We would not hesitate for a second to re book.

Thankyou for your lovely review. We hope to welcome you again! Property Owner

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the old tannery."

The cottage was so clean on arrival, had everything you could need for your stay, the welcome pack included some wonderful Welsh cakes and Welsh butter that was delicious. The cottage was so warm and cosy which was very welcome with the weather we had! If the weather has been kinder the garden would have been lovely to sit out in. The location was perfect, a few minutes walk took you to the lovely town of Beaumaris. Even when we went out for the day no where was more than 30 minutes drive. I can imagine in high season parking might be an issue but we found a spot each time on the same street, the large grassy car park if needed was only a few minutes walk too.

Thank you for the lovely feedback. We hope to welcome you again. Property Owner

No-one overlooking the gardens, it felt like it was in the middle of the countryside. Very well equipped with everything you could need for your stay.

  • "Lovely cottage, conveniently located right in the middle of Beaumaris while still being quiet and secluded."

Beautiful large garden with views of the countryside. Nice bathroom with TV over Bath and separate walk-in shower. We were blessed with beautiful weather as well. Beaumaris is a lovely place with things to do, we visited the castle, jail and courthouse and took a cruise to Puffin Island. Two stunning National Trust properties nearby. Only nitpick is that although tthe kitchen was well equipped, there were no staples provided so we had to buy salt, pepper, etc. from the very expensive Spar in town. Do as much of your food shopping as you can in Bangor?

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
