With everything you need. Lovely back garden. No parking outside cottage as narrow road but plenty of parking round the corner a very short walk away. Short walk to town and seafront. Great communication from owner.

So very sorry that our cleaners missed this - this has never happened before with a mid week turnaround and they have apologised profusely - Our cleaners are excellent and I’m so pleased they were able to come over immediately and clean for you whilst you were out. • "Very comfortable cottage."

The step up to the kitchen and toilet is about 3 levels . I found I had to be aware of this constantly so as not to loose my footing. It would be ideal if this could all be built up to construct just one step up. This did not spoil my stay. The weather was but who can predict this!

Thank you for your great feedback :-) and we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay despite the weather. Ty Hydref is over 200 years old and is mainly flat downstairs which is unusual for such an old characterful cottage. We do appreciate your comments and are sorry the small steps into the bathroom etc was an issue. We would advise if you have such concerns to contact our agent Menai Holiday Cottages in advance of booking. We are pleased though that you enjoyed your stay with us and we do look forward to welcoming you back again sometime :-) Julie Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay in this charming cottage, our first introduction to Anglesey and it was mostly a positive one."

Our only gripe was there wasn't any parking connected to the cottage, but having said that,we usually managed to.park around the corner in a lay-by.The tooting of horns on the blind corner was slightly annoying, but generally it was a lovely stay, and would like to thank the owners for our welcome pack too.

Thank you for your feedback and it was lovely chatting to you via email also. We appreciated your lovely comments about our cottage and also your honesty about the broken glass :-) Sadly though very few cottages in Beaumaris have parking onsite and as it is a very busy town it can be a challenge all round. Our description does confirm that parking is roadside. Normally like you mention - our guests are lucky to get parked just around the corner - however as we say in our welcome pack the green albeit a short walk away can issue weekly passes which will guarantee a spot during your stay. The tooting in the area is also outside of our control and is a safety measure by some drivers due to the very sharp bend near the cottage as it alerts people coming in the following direction. Thanks again and we do hope that you will visit us again in the future :-) Property Owner

Very cosy and nicely furnished. Very comfortable bed! The kitchen is well equipped and it was nice to have some outside space that was secure for our dog. Nicely situated on the edge of town but just a few minutes walk to the shops, pubs, restaurants and the sea front and pier. We would definitely stay here again.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and thoughtfully equipped with all that visitors might need. It has the bonus of a little outside tiered courtyard area and the information on local places to go and eat was very useful. Our trip was at the height of the season but we found parking was still straightforward to get. We had lovely week's holiday there, the cottage was perfect for our needs ( a couple plus a dog) and we wouldn't hesitate to rebook.

Thank you so much for such great comments we are so pleased you had a lovely time in Ty Hydref which we agree is perfect for couples and their little furry guests too :-)) Property Owner

Very clean, well stocked and freshly decorated. The layout makes the very most of the space, making it feel comfortable and surprisingly spacious. Excellent location for the town - just a short stroll away. Only problem is the parking which can be problematic at times.

Thank you for your lovely comments about Ty Hydref. Sometimes parking is an issue in this busy little town but there are always spaces on the green which is a short walk away and for a small charge :-) we hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "We know the area well."

Maybe I didn’t read up on the details properly. We found the cottage very quaint but far too small for us. Unfortunately my poor husband really struggled with the door ways and ceiling heights. He is 6ft 3in kept hitting his head and had to keep kneeling going up the stairs. Don’t mean to offend or be rude but the cottage seemed a bit tired in some areas. Parking was a nightmare. Not sure if that’s in general or due to Christmas. We are aware that the street is very narrow and has a tight corner but the constant beeping day and night was annoying.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you encountered some issues with the beams and doorways, however Ty Hydref is over 200 years old and is also a bijou cottage as per the description provided by our agent. The quaint features are part of the age and character of the cottage and we are very proud to welcome back repeat guests each year. Regarding the tiredness we were a little surprised to hear this as the whole cottage had just been repainted all in Farrow and Ball with new colours in the kitchen and bedroom just prior to your stay. Regarding the parking it is a general issue in this small town with its charming narrow streets however you can often be lucky and get parked on the road just around the corner and also as per the welcome pack info parking is always available on the nearby green and is free at this time of year. We also cannot comment on the beeping of the cars that pass as they often do this due to the tight corner and to alert anyone coming in the opposite direction. Thanks again, Julie Property Owner

Ty Hydref was cosy and well equipped, with the gas log-burner fire just perfect for keeping the whole house comfortable, and we were impressed by the owners' attention to detail throughout. There are plenty of pubs, hotels, and coffee shops in the town, but would particularly recommend the Liverpool Arms, the Bull, and the Beau Tea Rooms. Jayne and Andy Kirk, Corfton, South Shropshire

Thank you Jayne and Andy for such lovely feedback. It was a pleasure to keep in touch with you during your stay and to hear such warm and delightful comments. Just a couple of minor things , there was no toilet roll on arrival or washing up liquid or coffee etc. there was however a pint of milk in the fridge so we went straight to the shop to stock up on what we would call essentials. Also the toilet was constantly running which hopefully will be resolved for the next visitor. Having said that , we really enjoyed our visit and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this property to others .

Thank you for your feedback and for booking Ty Hydref. We were surprised to hear about the toilet roll and washing up liquid etc and our housekeeper has immediately stocked up as usual and we’ve been pleased to receive another 5 star review since. Regarding the running toilet thank you for the note left in the cottage and this has also immediately been fixed. We always encourage our guests to contact our agent if they encounter any issues during their stay and they will endeavour to rectify them asap. Extra good things I can say: a bijou, lovely cottage ideally situated for everything in Beaumaris, but in a quiet corner. The loudest sounds were of the seagulls- wonderful. The bedroom is big, bright and beautiful. Importantly, the cottage faces the right way, with the afternoon sun in the private, attractive little garden at the back. There was no available freezer- my only concern, but not important for a 3 day stay, which mine was.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
