  • "We think it would benefit from having a cloakroom on the ground floor."

Wakerley used to be my husband's Grandmother's house and he and his sisters were very interested in seeing how the property had changed from when they were children

  • "Nice property in a beautiful location."

Everything provided for. Very welcomed food and wine parcel on arrival. The only criticism would be on the need for better bathroom's towels and bedding as house can be quite cold, even in June. There were also no instructions about the heating system.

  • "Simply a wonderful house in the perfect location."

Suited us all perfectly - comfortable, plenty of room for 3 teenagers and 2 adults, facilities were more than we expected and such a lovely house to stay in. Thank you so much, we had a wonderful long weekend stay.

Thank you so much for your excellent feedback we are glad you had a wonderful time and enjoyed staying in Beaumaris. We hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "House was as listed."

Outside decking/seating area could do with some attention to make it more pleasurable to use the small outside space. We didn't use for this reason. No anti slip mat in first floor bathroom made it quite dangerous in the wet shower. Dining area quite cold in attached room. Would,be,more beneficial putting table in the middle room in the house which is probably the designated dining space . Owner is easily contactable if needed and some lovely welcome gifts on arrival. House would benefit from a little decorating in places. However really good situation in Beaumaris and private parking a,bonus and selling point for this house.

Thank you for your review. The outside space is often wet in October, the benefits of the outside space are mainly enjoyed during the summer months (when hopefully the sun is shining) as with all properties. We will provide an anti slip mat for future guests for the bathroom thank you for your feedback. The sun room is usually very cosy in the winter months we are sorry you found it cold perhaps the radiator was not fully turned up as we have not heard this before. All heating can be controlled by the hive system and can easily be turned up for your comfort if you are cold. Property Owner

  • "Lovely property but needed a deep clean."

Plugholes were a disgrace with massive dirty hairballs. Kitchen appliances such as dishwasher greasy. Fridge far too small for 8 guests and wardrobe hanging space insufficient for 8. Outside space needs attention as scruffy. Noisy work on next door property. Very difficult to get phone coverage and some days could not get any TV stations at all. Having said all this, we enjoyed our stay, despite dreadful weather which caused the dining room roof to leak. Very noisy 'plastic' roof on dining room was incredibly noisy during downpours. Helpful owner who explained how the heating worked when we failed to master it! Overall, lovely property with parking (although lots of steps to navigate) but could be better. Beds comfortable but a lightweight duvet in October was insufficient. I wouldn't return whilst the Welsh Govt subjugates its people and punishes tourists with ridiculous 'rules' re speed limit etc. Many places in the UK to visit that don't treat visitors like criminals.

Thank you for your feedback we are glad you enjoyed your stay despite the dreadful weather and that over all you found our property lovely with comfortable beds. We have not had any negative comments before regarding cleanliness please see previous reviews however we will pass the comments onto our housekeeper to see if there are any improvements we can make. We are sorry you found the dishwasher greasy, may be the dishwasher was not set on the correct cycle and that you found the family size fridge too small, the sound of rain on the conservatory roof noisy (most guests normally enjoy the sound of rain whilst being cosy inside) or were not able to work the TV or the hive heating system so you could heat the house to your comfort, again all previous guests have managed this however we are glad we were able to assist with this upon your arrival. *The outside space is often wet in October, the benefits of the outside space are mainly enjoyed during the summer months (when hopefully the sun is shining) as with all properties. *There are also two double wardrobes plus draws, cupboards etc and space under the single beds to store bags etc so are sorry you did not find this sufficient. There is also wifi throughout the house not sure if you managed to find the password above the kettle in the kitchen you could make whatsapp calls if you were struggling to get a signal however there is normally a full signal in the front half of the house. The Welsh speed limit is unfortunately out of our control. Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely house and very spacious, containing all the comforts of home."

There was a great welcome pack in the kitchen which was much appreciated. It has parking for two cars which, in Beaumaris, is a great advantage as so many streets have double yellow lines. It is perfectly placed for a five minute walk to the main street of the town and all the amenities on offer. A house guide gives all the information a visitor needs to enjoy the house and the facilities in the town including how the local restaurants are regarded!! I'd happily recommend a stay in this house!

  • "Waverley House is in a beautiful location, just a short walk to the shops, lovely bakery, butchers, Spar shop as well as the castle and all the small craft and gift shops, art galleries, restaurants etc."

Beaumaris is stunning on the Anglesey Coast with easy drives to beaches, coastal walks, Snowdonia. The house is really bright and well furnished. A kitchen with plenty of plates, glasses, pots, dishes so we even managed to entertain friends for an evening meal. Great central heating and a well put together folder with notes for guests. Could not fault anything and definitely will recommend and consider another holiday in the future for ourselves. The decor is very tastefully done with lots of "sea & maritime" elements all coordinated with mostly white and splashes of sea blue - as soon as we walked in it was a very beautiful home and the welcome cake, wine and even milk were lovely touches.

It is within a couple of minutes from the beach and has outstanding views of Snowdonia. All the rooms had an individual character and were decorated to a high standard. Needless to say they are very comfortable too. The property was a true home from home and a perfect base for exploring Anglesey . Highly recommended by all of our party .

  • "Excellent house within easy walking distance of the town's facilities and attractions."

It was clean, spacious and the decorations emphasised the seaside. There was a good view of the Menai Straights and the mountains of Snowdonia from the front bedrooms. The party ranged in age from nearly 4 to 70 and we all enjoyed staying there. The children didn't want to go home. It was well equipped and the only 2 things we missed were a clothes basket to empty the washer and a cafetiere or coffee machine. We were greeted with complimentary wine, tea, instant coffee, milk, Welsh cakes and bara brith, all of which were very much appreciated.

  • "We loved our holiday in this house."

It was even nicer than the photos suggest. It was also really convenient for town and brilliant that we had a large double parking space in the heart of a town with narrow roads and limited parking. We went on a boat trip to puffin island and saw wild dolphins. We went coasteering with b-active@rhoscolyn which was amazing (recommend). Anglesey offer a lot, there was plenty to do just on the island for the week.

  • "We had a fantastic stay at Waverley House."

The decor & furniture was beautiful & just to out taste. Inside is spacious but just lacking in storage space in the smaller bedrooms. Outside at the back could do with a bit of a spruce up & attention to the top floor stairs but it was a lovely area to sit out in the sunshine & very private with some lovely pots & plants, reminded us of Greece with the white steps & walls. Parking was good as we had two cars & exploring the area was easy. Beaumaris has plenty shops & places to eat & drink & the little pier was lovely & the views of the mountains are stunning.

The house was lovely with lots of quirky furnishings. It was very clean and really well stocked with crockery etc. It was very comfortable (especially the beds) and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. An added bonus was being able to park at the house. The house is really convenient for the town and castle. We will certainly like to return in the future and will recommend the venue to our friends.

House was bright and airy, beautiful decor, lots of space for our family of 5. Off road parking for 2 cars was great. Only thing to improve I would suggest is the possibility of a downstairs toilet for guests who may not be quite as mobile, wasn't a problem for us though. We loved our stay and hope to return in the future.

  • "General cleanliness was fine."

However on arrival there was rubbish in the waste bin in the lounge including a discarded Banana Skin!! This was clearly not checked properly before our arrival. We did e-mail the contact (Allison Croker) immediately including a photograph, but did not receive any response at all. This to us is unsatisfactory. Also, there was no washing up bowl in the Kitchen or a plug for the sink, therefore obtaining hot water for cleaning kitchen / surfaces was very difficult as had to be done under a running tap. Hanging space for longer clothes items (i.e. Trousers, dresses, etc.) in bedrooms was non existent.Besides these issues the property was most satisfactory.

Thank you for your comments. We apologise for our housekeeper missing one hidden bin behind the sofa containing a small amount of rubbish ( a few sweet papers and banana skin), our housekeeper was notified and also apologises. We are glad the cleanliness of the rest of the house was to your satisfaction in line with our previous reviews. We don't provide a washing up bowl as a new Smeg diswasher is provided to wash all dishes and a large amount of cleaning products can be found under the sink and in the cleaning cupboard to clean any surfaces. Re the hanging space there are two full wall's of fitted wardrobes in both the double bedrooms of standard configuration and as there were only two of you staying in the four bedroom property we are surprised you did not consider this to be sufficient. We are glad despite the above you still found the property most satisfactory. Property Owner

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Snowdonia mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Snowdonia.
