  • "Mainly warm, cosy and inviting."

Loved the conservatory and large fridge/freezer. Heat came on very quickly, great for drying damp clothing! However, 1. Damp exterior wall, lower bedroom. Clothes kept in wardrobe felt damp. 2. "Extra" step between bedroom and bathroom was hazardous; we both almost tripped up on several occasions.

Yes, I agree that that step can be problematic, but it would be a major refurbishment issue to change that. I’m sorry it was a nuisance for you. Usually we find that keeping the property warm and cosy in winter helps with any dampness. We have tried many different solutions, sealing exterior walls and minimising issues with drainage outside, but having the heating on for a short while each day usually solves the problem. I have now also placed an additional electric radiator in that large bedroom. Property Owner

  • "Overall excellent; the annoying anti-tourist policies of the current Welsh Government are causing problems for those who chose to visit Wales and spend money in the local communities."

Despite this (minor re-jig of the dustbin collections) we would STRONGLY recommend Stonycroft as an excellent base for a short holiday on Anglesey. We actually met the owner, who arrived to carry out garden maintenance during out stay. This was not a problem.

I’m glad that the holiday was enjoyable despite the problems with bin collections and the garden. I am still trying to organise a regular and reliable garden maintenance. J. Coyle Property Owner

  • "Good location."

Steps in the main bedroom were an issue very easy to trip up. The property was damp when we arrived. The towels were damp as was the toilet paper! When we went to bed the bedding and pillows were damp I had a very uncomfortable 1st night with hardly any sleep as I felt damp. The general cleaning was not good and was not spotless as some reviews say. The windows in the conservatory were full of sticky finger marks as was a long mirror. There was mould on the walls which is a health issue. Even though it was a heatwave we had to put the heating on to try and dry the place out. The shower tray in the ensuite does not drain towards the plug but holds at opposite end on tray this caused over spill onto the floor which has over time damaged the lino. There was something sticky on the coffee table in conservatory. The garden was over grown we had to cut down over grown plants to be able to sit on one of the benches.

I’m extremely sorry that my property was not as you would have wished. I have no idea what caused the unacceptable dampness at the time of your stay, because I spend several months there in the winter each year and have never had this problem before. We were concerned that the warm weather may have caused condensation. At this stage, I can only offer sincere apologies. I will inform the cleaners and together try and find out why this occurred. There was definitely an issue this year with the garden, and at the time of your stay we were trying to recruit and employ a new gardener. Hopefully this will be fully resolved in the near future. All I can do at this stage is offer my sincere apologies, and do my utmost to address all the issues which gave you concern. J. Coyle Property Owner

It is a lovely, spacious and comfortable holiday home. On arrival the property had been thoroughly cleaned. It was spot on!. Location is always important to us and Stonyway’s is perfect. Only a 5 minute walk to gorgeous Benllech Beach. Also within walking distance are a good bistro, 2 fish and chip shops,a Chinese takeout and nice pubs. All make for a great holiday.

The bungalow is a short walk to beautiful Benllech beach and is situated on a pleasant, quiet residential road. On arrival the bungalow was spotlessly clean and very well equipped, The owner has thoughtfully provided everything that one would need for their stay. The property is spacious and tastefully decorated. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the raised terrace which overlooks the garden and has a sea view. We have already booked to return next year !.

  • "It was a lovely, cottage as described on the website, really close to the Bay Cafe and the lovely beach."

The cottage was very comfortable and it was well supplied with cleaning materials, bin bags etc. I took a lot of these supplies with me because cottages I'd been to before were not so well equipped. I'm guessing quite a few other guests had done the same because the cupboard under the sink was full of them! Everything was great; I didn't bother going down to the garden since I have bad mobility...but having the patio available from the kitchen was brilliant, and enough for me, as the holiday was all about relaxation and visiting friends on the Island. I would definitely recommend this cottage, and will be back.

Thankyou for such a lovely review. I try to make sure all the cleaning materials are topped up before the letting season. I’m glad that you enjoyed your stay at Stonyway. Property Owner

  • "Perfect location, two minutes walk down to the beach (although it may cause problems for less able bodied , being on a slope."

)Had everything we needed, clean and comfortable . Very peaceful quiet location , the neighbours were very friendly too.love the quirky layout of the bungalow and the kitchen is really cute. The heating is set on a timer, so it sometimes came on when it was a hot day, and went off when it was cooler , but thats the British weather for you. Missed not having a fire , but thats just personal preference. There were only two of us, but the fact that there are three televisions would be really useful if you went as a family group of six (no arguing over what to watch ). Overall it was a lovely comfy, clean, pleasant place to come back to at the end of a fantastic day out on Anglesey

I’m glad you had a lovely stay. The heating can be changed, or switched off if needed. (I do not leave a fire in the property in summer, because people often visit with toddlers and young children, sorry.) Thankyou for this very positive review. J.C.Coyle. Property Owner

It was extremely comfortable, we spent a great deal of time (when we weren’t out and about) in the conservatory. So peaceful, overlooking the huge garden. We could get away from one another, if we had wanted to, with the 3 reception rooms. Beds were comfortable. Everything that we could want was there. Shops a short distance away and a spectacular beach only 200 yards down the hill. We would certainly book this place again.
