  • "We had a fantastic stay, the lodge was perfect for our family and was conveniently located to Snowdonia National Park."

We really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at this lodge."

The facilities were brilliant. We didn’t use the outside kitchen or fire pit as it was February and the weather wasn’t the best. We did make use of the hot tub. All 3 bedrooms are doubles and the beds and pillows really comfortable. Would definitely recommend and look at rebooking again.

  • "The Lodge is in a prime position."

There were however a number of issues. Dining Room seats need replacing. Blind to Dining Room window needs to operate properly (totally wrecked) Bedding in Two of the Bedrooms ripped. Shower difficult to operate. Carpet to lounge area needs cleaning. Outside one of the sun-beds needs to be usable. While none of these detracted from our enjoyment of our Holiday we have used Sykes before and expected better

Thank you for your feedback. We want all of our guests to enjoy their stay, and have maintenance staff on site to assist with any issues a guest may have. We do apologise for the issues raised and it is a shame that you did not contact us as we would have happily rectified these during your stay. Thank you again for your feedback and we are pleased to confirm the issues have now been dealt with. Property Owner

Really clean and cosy, and a fabulous enclosed outdoor space that would be perfect for use in warmer weather. Thanks!

  • "Wonderful Christmas spent at Bryn Derwen lodge, we would love to come back!"

The beds are very comfortable and the lodge is very cosy and homely. We all said we would gladly live there! Great owners who were really helpful! Could do with a new set of bowls and some glasses and perhaps new cushions for the armchairs but it didn’t affect the overall enjoyment and the magic of Christmas spent there!

We had a lovely relaxing stay and couldn't fault anything. The garden was great for a Saturday night bbq and marshmallow toasting round the fire pit. The beds were so comfortable and the rooms were very spacious. So good we have already booked for next year!

  • "Lovely peaceful location and a good base to view the area."

The general seating in the property looks good but is uncomfortable when sat watching tv etc. The beds are super comfy and the hot tub was lovely after a day’s walking. The garden was sufficiently secure and enclosed for our dog. The Smart tv with a good internet connection was excellent. Good communication with the caretaker who was very helpful.

What a beautiful lodge wrapped in an amazing outside area.We made full use of the outside eating area ,barbecue, firepit and hot tub and especially liked waking up with the French doors opened enjoying the view from our bed.The children's play area is a great addition which was enjoyed by us all.Just magical for us and sad to leave. Will definitely return and thanks to Elaine and Gordon for help and advise.

  • "Absolutely lovely little holiday."

We all had a great time and we’re really impressed! Only little things I’d mention as advice/recommend - two areas of garden where the fences are low - would be great if these were done so it’s completely enclosed for dogs. The house could do with having some cleaning spray for ease of cleaning sides/tables. A couple of extra oven trays for cooking food. Apart from that - everything perfect and we’ll certainly be stopping again :) Thank you!

  • "As a group of friends we had a fantastic & really relaxing time in The Lodge!"

Beautiful house with plenty of room for the 5 of us, great facilities, very clean & tidy & all round just great. The men who greeted us to show us around were very friendly & helpful and always just a phone call away although we didn't need any assistance once as all our needs were met. We loved the outdoor facilities too with the hot tub & big fire (+ plenty of fire wood without a charge which was great) Took a drive across for a walk on Angelsey beach in the sunshine which was an easy 30 minutes drive followed by a lovely pub lunch. Perfect little weekend. Fantastic stay from start to finish & we are already looking at booking again for the summer.

About the location

BETHESDA

Bangor 6 miles; Caernarfon 10 miles.

Bethesda is a small town settled beside the River Ogwen in North Wales. Situated on the A5 between Bangor and the Snowdonia National Park, Bethesda was once a busy slate quarrying town and nowadays offers a good selection of shops and other amenities, in particular a number of chapels and pubs. The beautiful mountainous scenery of Snowdonia borders Bethesda, with the Lôn Las Ogwen cycling and walking paths skirting past. For the more adventurous, why not visit Zip World in Bethesda which is known for having Europe’s fastest and longest zip line. Capel Curig, just ten miles away, is a popular centre for walking, climbing and mountain biking, whilst Llanberis is situated at the foot of Mount Snowdon and is home to the Snowdon Mountain Railway and the National Slate Museum. Cwm Idwal is also a wonderful spot to visit, situated in northern Snowdonia – Darwin came to study the area and found tiny fossils of oceanic plant life and sea creatures in the boulders and rocks. The coastal town of Caernarfon is just a short drive away as is the beautiful Isle of Anglesey and the Anglesey Coastal Path. Visitors to the area can also explore the castles of Caernarfon and Beaumaris and the NT stately homes of Penrhyn Castle and Plas Newydd Country House and Gardens. Spend the day at one of the many traditional seaside resorts, or discover the isolated, hidden beaches on Anglesey, much of which is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With spectacular scenery on the doorstep, wonderful wildlife with buzzards soaring overhead and the occasional Peregrine Falcon to be seen, and many exciting outdoor adventures to discover nearby, Bethesda is superbly located for enjoying both the coast and the countryside of stunning North Wales.
