The place is so quite and restful but only about 3 miles from Beaumaris. The bed was so comfortable, I slept longer than I normally do. There is a good selection of videos to watch and books to read, if you want to stay in.

Helen was friendly and helpful if we had any questions. I wish I’d downloaded a few programs onto my tablet because although the WiFi was mostly ok for checking websites etc, it wasn’t fast enough for watching videos (we were in the middle of the countryside so it shouldn’t have surprised me that it wasn’t as fast as I have at home). My partner and I are tall so the mirror in the bathroom was too low for us but it wasn’t a big deal to cope with for just a week. The super king size bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Overall a lovely place to stay and explore Anglesey. (We also popped over to Caernarfon castle because it’s only about 25 minutes away from the cottage).

Walks from the door, but nowhere is far away on Anglesey. Great pub in Llanddona 4 mins away, The Owain Glyndwr does fish n chip Friday, a joy to not have to cook after your journey and a really good Sunday lunch.

  • "I only had a short quiet stay."

But I thoroughly enjoyed the break here. Despite visiting in the colder months, the views in the morning and evening of the sea and hills from the property were a pleasure to look at. The property is well insulated, warm, clean and cosy. There is plenty of space for parking. All the facilities were suitable for me. I had to do some remote working while I was there and the 4G signal in the area was consistent for mobile access. Although I'm sure it's subject to change, the Wi-Fi at the property (at time of writing) was consistent enough for me to complete some IT work and stream the odd show during the evening with no issues during my stay.

The position and views were amazing. The ever changing colours of the views over the Menai Straits, sea, mountains and coastline including the Great Orme were stunning. Total peace and relaxation. The cottage is furnished and presented to an extremely high standard. Everything perfect for a couple who want to get away from it all. We loved it and will be booking again for next year.

It provides ideal accommodation for two people. A welcome pack of milk, butter, Welshcakes and flowers were provided. The location is rural but only a few minutes drive into Beaumaris. The only negative is the poor wifi reception. Ideally, relaxer chairs for the garden would have been nicer than the ones provided but this is a small point. We enjoyed staying here very much.

About the location

BEAUMARIS

Menai Bridge 4 miles.

Beaumaris is a well known historic town on the Isle of Anglesey situated on the Menai Strait and overlooking the Eryri (Snowdonia) mountain range, making for the most stunning of sunrises. With its medieval castle (now a World Heritage site) dating back to the reign of Edward I and its Victorian pier, gaol and courthouse, it is also known as a major centre for yachting. Beaumaris is rich in history and retains much of its medieval street pattern. It’s setting, diversity of architectural styles and periods, differing scale, open spaces, varying roofs and overall quality contribute greatly to the town’s character. There is a good selection of shops, restaurants and public houses, as well as fishing opportunities and boat trips in the town, plus a golf course nearby. Along the coast is a large bay called Red Wharf Bay; its Welsh name is Traeth Coch (Red Beach) and the area is renowned for its glorious sunsets. The bay is very shallow and at low tide, almost 25 square kilometres (10 sq. mi.) of sand is uncovered providing safe bathing, perfect for wonderful family fun, fishing and miles of stunning scenic walks. Further afield is the port of Holyhead, which has regular ferry links to Dublin. Beaumaris is a good central base for touring Wales, in a beautiful location on the south coast of the picturesque Isle of Anglesey, within easy reach of the spectacular mountains of Eryri (Snowdonia).
