  • "The property was absolutely gorgeous."

So spacious and well equipped for the two of us. The shower in the en-suite wet room was amazing! As it was hot when we stayed here, we made very good use of the balcony which was just perfect as it comes right off the kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with all the equipment you would need. Plenty of room in the fridge freezer too. The bed was lovely and comfy too. The only negative we would have about the property is the driveway. We knew it was an unmade track before we arrived, however, there are some very big potholes and it's quite steep which made getting onto the main road a bit difficult. Overall, we loved our stay here. The property was well stocked and comfy, the enclosed garden was perfect for our dog, and the balcony was gorgeous in the morning and evening sun. We would definitely stay here again.

  • "The property provided us with everything we needed for a perfectly relaxing week with our aging and somewhat grumpy Jack Russell terrier."

The barn conversion is beautiful, furnished with love and decorated with original art. The position is peaceful and private and the addition of a small balcony just off the kitchen which is upstairs was where we spent most of our time. As we have spent many breaks on Anglesey exploring we felt this was perfectly positioned to do that if we felt like it but the lure of the peace and the comfort of the house were more than enough for us this time. Care is needed driving from the road down the private track, which is just a typical rough farm track.

  • "The musty smell of damp as you enter the property was off-putting."

We were unable to keep the log burner alight (we have one at home so we are experienced users) so that was extremely frustrating and dissapointing. The central heating was inadequate and there was no consistent supply of hot water. So, we only stayed one night rather than the five we had booked. We would not recommend this property and would suggest it's either up-graded or only booked during the summer months.

  • "We really enjoyed our recent holiday in Vine Tree Barn."

It was particularly enjoyable being in part of a very old manor house in lovely surrounding gardens. We were lucky enough to meet the owner and his lovely dogs and another neighbour and his dog were always very welcoming. On arrival in the barn we received Welsh cakes, milk and flowers which were a warm gesture and much appreciated. The barn was very characteristic, cosy and beautifully laid out, clean and very well equipped. Well known walks on the island and in Snowdonia were again enjoyed, new places discovered and family visited, so a really good holiday all round. Thank you.

  • "This was a lovely cottage in need of some TLC."

The road down to the cottage was badly rutted and difficult to manoeuvre.

  • "Pam, Mark and John were very friendly as before."

We love this cottage as it meets our needs with our dog, really well. The garden is almost fully enclosed. Just a small gap between the fence post nearest the farm house side, which only a very adventurous dog might escape through. Also this time we noted a damp corner of twin bedroom, but this didn’t affect the enjoyment of our stay. Visiting in May, meant we could enjoy the coffee table in garden, and on the balcony. Thanks again!

Only 4 miles to Newborough beach. Cottage is clean and welcoming with log fire. Great for dogs as secure rear garden. Would recommend for a chilled out holiday.

  • "The cottage lived up to its expectations."

We were there February, but I would gladly go back in the Summer. It’s home from home. Everything you need is there. The only thing is if anybody is going, the postcode leads you to the cottage across the road! A signpost with Vine Tree Barn on the main road would be helpful. Apart from this, we really enjoyed our stay.

  • "Stayed here in December for the New Year."

Location: Great base for exploring Anglesey. Our first time so we wasn’t sure what to expect and where to go but because the location is central it was around 15-20 minutes drive to all the costal locations. Roads are great, no traffic anywhere. Accommodation: Lovely barn conversion, wood burning fire and central heating. We stayed in December and the barn was so warm! Fully equipped kitchen, don’t really need to take anything with you! Washing machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge freezer, cutlery all provided. Lovely garden, can imagine in the summer it’s beautiful to sit out. Has a secure garden which was great as we took the dog. Nice and comfortable homely feel, peaceful location. Lots of dog friendly places nearby to visit. Pub, Holland’s Arms Hotel in walking distance. Gaerwen Arms is lovely and a few minute drive. Overall for the price, we had a great stay.

It wasn’t in the best state of repair to justify the price! No mention of the steep track down full of pot holes.

  • "A lovely barn, which was set in a lovely spot, very quiet and peaceful."

The barn was very clean, and homely and had everything we needed for a perfect stay. Welcome tea, coffee milk and biscuits very welcome after a long drive. Could not fault property, and would highly recommend. Would re book this property.

  • "The cottage was very nice especially the upstairs living area."

It would have got 5 were it not for a few snags eg no hairdryer, and a number of lights, particularly in the kitchen area, not working. If I read the spec on the website properly I wouldn't have booked the cottage because there was no wifi. I keep all my holiday information, maps, places to visit in the cloud. My fault for not checking it properly but it means I won't rebook.

  • "Seemed a little unloved and not up to the normal Menai standards I'm afraid."

We were unsure of the cottage from the limited pictures but as we had been impressed by the standards of all of the previous Menai cottages decided to go for it. Whilst it was a little cheaper than some others we felt the bathrooms and kitchen let it down. Also, lawn not mown and no hand soap or dishwasher tablets. This was a long way from the south stack cottage we stayed in the week before and felt Vine Tree in comparison was over-priced as a result.
