The cottage is ideally situated for exploring Snowdonia and Anglesey.
Bangor is just one mile away and is a lively university city with a swimming pool close by, a shopping centre, art galleries, Cathedral and many bars and restaurants where you can sample the local Welsh delights.
Walking and cycle routes are close by and the Penrhyn slate quarries above Bethesda and Zip World Velocity, the world’s fastest zip wire are easily reached.
Penrhyn Castle, a National Trust property, is just ten minutes by car.
The walled town of Caernarfon with its medieval castle is just 15 minutes’ drive away, and is the starting point for the spectacular Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway, a 25-mile-long narrow gauge railway that twists and turns its way through some of Snowdonia’s most wonderful scenery.
The Menai Strait offers a superb selection of watersports, as well as fishing opportunities, and the delights of Anglesey, with its superb sandy, golden beaches, is accessible within three miles of this Bangor cottage.
Snowdonia National Park is also within a short drive of your cottage.

Bangor is a university town on the North Wales coast with a large range of shops, bars and restaurants. It is the main crossing point for the Isle of Anglesey with two road bridges across the Menai Strait. Across the water, the castle and pier at Beaumaris make a lovely day out, or you can catch a boat to enjoy a trip out to Puffin Island. The Anglesey Coastal Path takes in beautiful scenery, and the island is home to many fine beaches including Rhosneigr, Trearddur Bay and Red Wharf Bay. The NT mansion Plas Newydd is on the island, while on the mainland further NT properties can be found including Penrhyn Castle and Bodnant Gardens. The spectacular mountains and lakes of Snowdonia are just a short drive way, with plenty of castles, beaches and other attractions on offer in this wonderful region. Bangor and the Menai Straits really do offer the best of both worlds!
