I am not a cold person but felt the cottage felt cold and damp (because it was cold in there) thought that the heating would come on automatically but it never and the instruction in the book stated - DO NOT TOUCH THE HEATING I know it wasn’t a cold weekend but it was warmer outside then inside !!!

  • "Bron Haul has the makings of a very good holiday cottage but is currently in need of some TLC to make it more comfortable and welcoming."

Menai Holiday Cottages, who manage the property, are very approachable and satisfactorily addressed a cleaning issue we raised with them. We also reported that two of the hob rings weren't working and two light bulbs in the bedroom needed replacing. The kitchen was well equipped overall but a small niggle was the lack of dessert spoons (only 2 found). We would advise other guests to make sure you take staples such as cleaning cloths, silver foil, kitchen roll etc with you as these were not provided, nor was there any sort of welcome pack. The Wi-Fi is intermittent. On the positive side the cottage is spacious and light and has off road parking. There is a friendly coffee shop close by and an excellent farm shop just outside the village. There are also pleasant walks from the cottages and good views to be had.

  • "The cottage was lovely apart from a few minor issues."

The sofas in the living area were not very comfy to relax on but this had been said in a lot of reviews previously but nothing done about it. Also the kitchen was well equipped but the frying pan wasn't none stick. The garden was on the side of the property which when looking at the pictures and the wording it didn't state this therefore very deceiving. If you fancied sitting out in the evening for tea when weather is good there is no table and chairs just a bench at the front of the cottage.

  • "On entering the cottage, it was just as shown - lovely and clean with plenty of utensils, crockery etc."

The sofas however are a disgrace. They had throws on so looked great. The minute you sat down, you felt you were on the floor. I had read this before we went, but thought they couldn't be that bad - they are!!! These are the only place to relax after being out all day. The cottage is on a main road, which the photos did not show and houses to the rear, so no real privacy. The village is a great location for exploring Anglesey, and the people at the local Cafe are lovely and gave us lots of information about surrounding areas. Due to the sofas, we actually left 2 days early. I rang Sykes to let them know, and they said they would contact the Owner. To date we have not heard from anyone.

  • "Firstly, absolutely well turned out property, very clean and all facilities worked."

Great location, superb walks locally and we enjoyed the area. The cottage needs some changes... The blind in the bedroom is totally inadequate, there is a street light right outside the bedroom window, where the light floods the bedroom at night and as soon as the sun comes up... no chance of any sleep. This really needs a blackout blind. We ended up pinning 2 x black towels to the blind as it was the only way of keeping the room dark! The sofa is unbelievably uncomfortable, it needs replacing, not sure how old it is, but it's badly stained and megga uncomfortable to sit on for any amount of time. If you don't wish to use the sofa and aren't bothered about the bedroom being lit up like a lighthouse... brilliant cottage. Would we stay there again, sadly not. There's no where else to sit if you're in for the night and it's awful on that sofa!

On arrival it property was clean and smelt amazing. The decor has been well put together and there is loads of space. The sofas are not as bad as everyone made out on the reviews, but if I was being 'picky' then some cushions may help. A black-out curtain/blind would be great in the bedroom as it is opposite some street lighting. The parking and outside space were also nice to have. If you're travelling with a dog they do need supervising as the wall is quite low and they could easily jump out. As part of a wish list may be some extra fencing as the road outside is quite busy/fast and a mattress topper would help on the bed too. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and it is an excellent summer location/property.

First of all the sofas we're very uncomfortable and very stained. When we removed the bedding as requested, the duvet was very badly stained and needs throwing away!! The blinds in both the bedroom and the bathroom had broken control chains. We managed to close them and they remained closed for the week. The shower head was extremely dirty. Was full of black mould as was the rim of the showere tray. The plug hole was full of hair and don't know what else!! As for the outside space, it is not suitable for sitting out because it is facing the road. Obviously why no garden furniture was supplied! Also dog mess had been left in the garden. All in all we were quite disappointed. Having found at the end of the week, Menai cottages had their offices at the rear of the cottage, we informed them of the above. We will leave it up to you whether you decide to print this or not. Regards, Jackie and Gordon Higson.

It is based in a great spot for getting around the area with lots of lovely walks and places to see. Ideal if you didn't want to cook with a local pub only 50 yards away serving good food with a warm welcome. Only small problem was that we could not turn the sound down on the television as it was quite loud. We did experience the water going off because of a burst pipe somewhere, but some lovely local young children had called Trick or Treating (bit early though) and they took the kettle to get some water but were unsuccessful, however I gave them some money for sweets but ten minutes later they returned with some bottles of water for us. It’s location and accessibility are excellent, and provided all that was needed for a relaxing and chilling out week. The layout of the living area provided a spacious and comfortable area for cooking, dining and relaxing in the evening. The quality of the furnishing and the kitchen equipment was of a very high standard. The same would apply to the bedroom and the spacious bathroom. A comment on the building itself. From the depth of the windowsills the stone building would appear to have a history. Perhaps, as a suggestion, a brief outline of its origin might be included with the other very helpful literature on the sideboard. We would certainly wish to go there again.

It is in a location which was new to us and was a great base for visiting Beaumaris, Penmon Lighthouse, The Hidden Gardens, The Belgian Promenade, The Stepping Stones as well as the fabulous beach at Newborough. It is also close to the Anglesey Coastal Path and we took the opportunity to try a circular route which took us along the Menai Straits. The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed although the handles on the saucepans were a bit wobbly. The kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher although we didn't actually use it. The cottage is very close to the road but we didn't find that was a problem apart from needing to keep the bathroom blind closed all the time for privacy. Unfortunately I did not find it comfortable or in a good location. I found the bathroom sink and toilet had not been cleaned or the cooker hob. The bed was rock hard and the sofas very saggy. It was also very hot and heating not easy to turn down. Although I was aware it was on the road side from reading previous reviews, I was not aware the cars would be parking on the pavement three feet from the windows. The views were lovely but not the place for a quiet chilling week-end. The cottage could also benefit from the use of a long reach feather duster to get rid of the cobwebs in the beams. Sorry but clean means spotless to me. All in all, very disappointed, especially for the price. I could have had a three night weekend in an Aberdovey hotel for less that included breakfast!

Hello Miss Kydd, thank you for your comments. I'm sorry to hear of the issues you encountered. I want to assure you these have been dealt with and we will not have the same problem in the future. However: Bathroom window was clear glass!we had the blind down all week as the window was only a couple of feet from the road. Sofas ware quite uncomfortable, as they appeared to sag / need new springs, and could have done with a few more scatter cushions. We were glad of the portable heater as the living areas were quite cold. We had wet weather most of the week and found it difficult to dry wet coats. They had to drip dry over the back of a dining chair in the bathroom. Glad we read previous reviews about lack of hand soap and took our own. Also, there was only half a toilet roll in the place.

As a couple needing a base to visit friends, go walking etc we don't need much but Bron Haul delivered in every area. The fit and finish was top draw, the parking is excellent as were the facilities in the house. The location is excellent for exploring the east of Anglesey and the nearby pub is a real treat. Although small, the cottage feels spacious and airy even with the blinds closed and the way the lighting is set up allows you to make things cosy for your evening meal should you wish. All the furniture provided is very comfortable and the underfloor heating is wonderful keeping the cottage at a pleasant temperature even in the depths of winter. Just as a note to summer bookers, the garden is at the side of the house so wouldn't be suitable for dining etc as it's on the road as is the house (virtually) so there will be people walking past the windows if you have the blinds open...none of this detracted from our stay though, I just thought it was worth pointing out.

  • "A lovely light and comfortable cottage with most things that we required."

Ideal for a short break at this time of year. We did have problems with the heating, however. Someone came to help with this, but there was never any heat in the sitting area. During our first night the boiler fired up continuously and our bedroom was far too hot. Perhaps previous clients had altered the settings, so maybe this could be checked in future. There was only one bin liner for use during our stay and handwash was missing from the bathroom - not very helpful after a journey and before shopping.

Bron Haul - meaning ‘Sunny Hill’ in English, is a sweet holiday cottage on Anglesey.

Sleeping two, it’s ideal for a romantic couples getaway!

It has been transformed into a bright, cheerful holiday cottage with plenty of quirky touches, including painted pots of tulips to welcome you!

Bron Haul has great views across farmland to the mountains of Snowdonia.

You enter directly into the open plan living space with the kitchen right in front of you.

It has a modern farmhouse style and has a fridge freezer, hob and electric oven, dishwasher and good selection of utensils. Step up onto the dining area which has a table and chairs.

From the right chair, you can in fact, soak up views of Snowdonia whilst you enjoy your supper!

There’s enough seating space to invite a couple of friends around for a meal, too.

The colourful sitting area has a TV for entertainment, but we suggest curling up here with a good book!

The rug adds warmth and cosiness underfoot.

At the opposite end of the cottage, next to the kitchen, there’s a bedroom with a large and comfy bed and lighting that gives a relaxing ambience.

The bathroom, which is just off the bedroom, has a bath, a separate walk in shower, loo and wash hand basin. Bron Haul is a holiday cottage in a good location for exploring some of Anglesey’s best bits!

Attractions, walks, sandy beaches and great places to eat are within a short drive.

You’ll also have the benefit of not being too far from the mainland of Snowdonia where there’s even more to explore!

We highly suggest whisking your loved one away to Bron Haul for a relaxing or action-packed getaway...whichever you prefer!
