  • "Having read other reviews before booking, was a little apprehensive but we couldn't find anywhere else as it was last minute."

Unfortunately, the reviews are accurate. The place smelt very musty, horrible! Cobwebs with spiders around all covings in every room. In a morning (we are early risers), the kitchen had slugs all around the kitchen unit plinths, which then disappeared through the plinths under the units Gross!! No welcome pack, no communication from owner, other than me texting 2 days before to confirm. All in all, very disappointed. We won't be returning to this cottage.

  • "Unfortunately there was a very strong musty, damp smell throughout the property but especially in the double bedroom."

The drawers in the bedroom and the dresser in the dining room particularly smelled musty with the latter having a fine covering of mould spores near the bottom on one side. Sadly this did impact on our enjoyment of what otherwise would be a comfortable property.

All the tasteful furniture and accessories. It was a calm and relaxing atmosphere and I appreciated the cuteness and quality of the furniture, especially the Ercol chairs. The coasters had great seaside or farmyards scenes, I adored the sailing boat mugs. I could go on…. But to me the tastefulness of this property made it feel like a home away from home. Eleven out of ten and fully recommend.

We then found that there was no loo roll and had to rush out to find somewhere open. Our granddaughter went under her bed to retrieve something and found a bowl full of a white substance. Perhaps inevitably at this time of the year there were many cobwebs.

It was clean and tidy. Had everything that we needed, well equipped. It seemed that a lot of thought had gone into making it a very comfortable cottage. It felt like a home from home. • "We had a lovely holiday in Anglesey."

The bungalow is on the main ring round around the island making exploring it very easy. It is a good size bungalow with ample parking for two cars if needed. It has a small garden with seating, although a little noisy being on the main road, (you expect this when booking). The kitchen is well equipped and there was plenty of cleaning material, however we had taken our own. The bedrooms are basic but comfortable and we slept well. There may not be ample wardrobe space for a family, there were only two of us so it was fine. The furniture was old and a mish mash of styles, some may say old fashioned others may say comfortably worn. The disappointment of the bungalow was the musty smell as you walk in and this lingered all week. We did try using Bicarb to help with the smell but is did not work.

The enclosed garden is great for finishing off the day in the sunshine. Also great for anyone with young children as the gate can be secured. We did have an issue with the toaster as it would blow all the electrics if it was used. We used the grill instead and left a note for the housekeeper. Bull Bay Rd is very busy at times in the day and can be hard getting in and out, a little patience helps. It certainly isn't a problem at night for sleeping, hardly any rd noise. We thouroughly enjoyed our stay

  • "The house is well-equipped, clean and comfortably furnished."

It's conveniently located and easy to find. There is obviously a problem with the toaster as it fuses all the plugs in the kitchen when it is switched on. We also struggled with the key safe and had to put the keys through the letter box when we left. Some reviews mention a welcome pack of milk, bread and other items but this seems to have been discontinued so visitors shouldn't rely on it.

  • "Only reason for not 'exceeded expectations' is because we could not run a kettle or washing machine together, which was due to some problem with electrical wiring."

We had to keep dropping a Trip switch in the circuit box for the property, in order to keep power on. When eating we could only use the oven, nothing else that would use power. So I guess there is some minor issue with electrical supply/wiring into the property. Maybe a minor issue with the very tight turning circle when driving onto the drive, but we managed! Problem with the toaster, which failed to work when we arrived. We arranged with the landlady Sue to buy a replacement, which we did, and kept the receipt. She has immediately refunded us, no problem. Otherwise, on the whole, a very pleasurable stay, cottage cleanliness flawless, location very nice. Thank you.

Main road outside a little busy during the day, but very quiet at night. Would recommend taking some of the bushes down at the front drive in order to give more access and visibility to the road when arriving and leaving. 10 minute walk into Amlwch.

  • "Bedlinog is a warm cosy cottage."

Although on the side of a road it’s pretty quiet and very little to no traffic at night. It’s about a ten minute walk to Amlwch town centre where there is a chippy and a couple of take aways. There is a co-op which has a very good bakery and we loved the bread. Amlwch Port is only 5 mins by car and well worth a visit. There is amble off road parking at the house and I recommend you reverse in for ease of exiting on to the road, you can pull off the road adjacent to the house so cars can pass. The traffic does not pass fast but it is a bit blind on exiting so much easier to drive out rather than reverse. Though with a small car you can turn around in the houses drive itself. The heating is perfect and although it took a day to warm up as we went off season and the house had been empty once hot we kept turning it down as too hot lol. The shower is lovely and hot but it is a step to get into the bath and no grab handles, it’s not an issue but if like us older people it’s worth noting. The kitchen is well equipped and new, all the equipment is of a high standard. There is no grill pan in the cooker though there is a grill, from reading the instructions in the house the cooker was never supplied with one. If you want to grill you may want to take a grill pan with you. There are some lovely places to visit not far away. Parys Mountain about 5 mins away by car is an outstanding place for a walk in the old copper mine. The village of Bull Bay is within walking distance and Cemaes is about 5 miles away and a beautiful place. This is one of if not the best holiday home we have used and would highly recommend it, I would say it’s a home form home but it’s better than our house hahahahaha.
