  • "Just the most beautiful garden, all you could hear was the wind in the trees and the birds & an odd tractor."

Gwen the owner was lovely, rang to see if I needed any shopping before I left home. Got me milk and put the heating on for my arrival, was so welcoming and I got to meet her 7 lovely rescue cats. I just had a wonderful, quiet, relaxing week. A perfect place to head out from if you wanted to go walking and be more energetic though. (I didn’t!). Had a very happy week.

  • "What a lovely break my mum and I had at Gwen’s Caravan."

Firstly, the communication from start to finish from the owner Gwen was fantastic. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time, and she is a truly lovely lady. What a fabulous host! The location itself was lovely - a real escape from everything location, remote, peaceful and private. The garden was well maintained with lots of birds visiting us regularly and the caravan was comfortable, warm and well equipped. Gwen was on hand for any questions we had throughout the visit and couldn’t have been more welcoming. We will be back. Wonderful base to explore the island, which we took advantage of ❤️ Thank you for a lovely break Gwen!

The visiting birds are gorgeous (finches to woodpeckers) and the evening display from bats over the pond is fab. Wonderful access to some amazing walks on the coastal paths. About the location

LLANFECHELL

Cemaes Bay 1.5 miles; Holyhead 15 miles.

Llanfechell is a small village situated one and a half miles from Cemaes Bay, on the northern tip of Anglesey in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village gets its name from the nearby 12th century Mechell Church, which has been extended over the years and where it is believed that St Mechell is buried. The ancient Parys mountain copper mines are seven miles away, with their lunar-like landscape and the area is popular with geologists and archaeologists due to the rock formations at Mechell Mountain and the several ancient monuments scattered around, reputed to be some of the oldest in the world. Llanfechell is home to a village pub, which serves traditional ale with a warm welcome. Nearby, the pretty seaside village of Cemaes Bay is home to three pubs, a few shops, a natural sheltered harbour and a sandy beach, edged by grassy cliffs and ideal for safe bathing and family fun. The whole of the Isle of Anglesey is renowned for its miles of stunning and varied coastline, offering wonderful walking and cycling opportunities, along with birdwatching, excellent watersports, fishing and many quality golf courses. Anglesey Sea Zoo and a variety of National Trust properties and gardens are all within reach on this beautiful island, while a day trip to Dublin can be enjoyed from nearby Holyhead.
