  • “Beautiful place with welcoming owners and great views!”
As I am writing this review we are currently staying at the cottage. From reading the below reviews I believe gives the wrong impression. We arrived late on Friday night and came into a clean cottage with plenty of room for my partner and I with our dog. When looking round the property the owners had left us a nice treat of some Halloween Jaffa cake bars, eggs, crisps and milk so at least we could have some cereal and cup of tea when we got up. As we arrived when it was dark we didn’t get to take in the view from the back garden but it was defo worth the wait until morning. It’s beautiful looking out onto the lake which the owners allow you to walk down their field to the lake which I recommend doing. The garden is of a good size perfect for us and the dog loves it. The hot tub is wonderful lovely hot and clean, the below reviews state that it is overlooked but when sat in the hot tub the owners cannot see you as the only window that is visible when sat down is a frosted window. Mark and Julie are lovely and have been so welcoming, Julie came to welcome us on Saturday morning and show us how to use the hot tub also if we had any questions. We haven’t smelt horse poo at all on our stay but it would make sense if we did as the hint is in the name of the cottage, cefn ‘farm’ cottage but we expected there to be some disruption with the animals but we have so far had nothing. The owners dogs do bark but as stated in the information pack they are working dogs protecting their home, they are soon told to be quiet or taken in. Overall I am very happy with our choice of cottage and the area is stunning we would definitely come back was worth the 6 hour journey.

The property

A detached residence adjoining a double garage, located next to the owners' home on a working equestrian property, set in 14 acres of pastureland, with views across a field to a secluded 25-acre RSPB-maintained lake, Llyn Dinam.

Located down a long gated driveway, this cosy, well-presented cottage is set on the edge of the village of Caergeiliog, on the gorgeous Isle of Anglesey and provides two delightful bedrooms and an open plan living area with sitting area, dining area and a fully-fitted kitchen.

The privately enclosed garden offers a secluded area to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area, where you can admire the country views to the lake, and with the added bonus of a wonderful hot tub, seating 4 people, you can relax and star gaze in a lovely rural setting.

Stables can be hired for guests wishing to have a 'horsey' holiday!

The local Cymyran Beach can be accessed within a two-mile drive or walk from this Caergeiliog cottage, plus the popular coastal village of Rhosneigr is nearby, from where you can look around the shops or have a drink in one of the coffee shops.

Cymyran offers excellent sea fishing and is regarded by many locals as one of the most beautiful beaches on Anglesey, where you will find 1.5 miles of unspoilt sandy beaches.

This Caergeiliog cottage is an excellent base for a family holiday, or romantic getaway, all year round.

About the location

CAERGEILIOG

Trearddur Bay 5 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Caergeiliog is situated close to the wonderfully scenic west coastline on the Isle of Anglesey, between Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr, both of which are very popular seaside villages. The area is truly beautiful - a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches (European Blue Flag and Green Coast Award). Watersports, bathing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and plane spotting at RAF Valley are the main activities in the summer months, and golfers will enjoy two excellent 18 hole links golf courses. It's a great place for nature lovers, with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve and at Valley Lakes, as well as lots of rock pools and scenic cliff top walks to explore. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in nearby Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay, plus Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the fast ferry. A great location with plenty to see and do!
