  • "House was dirty and mould was everywhere, owner wasn't nice!"

Not private due to owner kept on coming onto the ground without notice! Toilet is very awkward to sit on, have sit sideways. Due to the mould in the property two of us was struggling to breathe/asthma. We booked the house under the name of Cefn Farm Cottage, however inside the property on the Track and Trace QR code has different name and also notice it's listed as a different name on a different website, which is very confusing! I will be contacting Sykes separately with regards to all the problems.

  • "The place itself was really nice."

owners very pleasant and helpful. a great log burner was a really nice touch on a evening. the only negative thing was the hot tub. we arrived it was cold. it warmed up slightly over a couple of days. but never got to the temperature it should be a bit disappointing really. when this was the main reason we booked. Other than the hot tub issue generally a nice place to visit.

  • "It was not a cottage, more like a garage of a cottage."

It was freezing cold even with heating on full as the boiler must have been set to only come on at certain times so there was time we sat there frozen. Hot tub was great though as we could warm up there. Lovely location and great that we could take our dog with us and that there was fenced off garden she could run around.

  • "We had a last min break with the fur babies."

Owners was lovely left us to our own devices. They just got on with there daily jobs looking after there prize pony’s. it’s great that you wake up not only to a cup of tea on decking while listening and watching fighter jets across the valley note this is only Monday to Friday, suppose this not for everyone but we loved it. The area is lovely plenty of beaches to take the fur babies for a run. Great thing about this place is dogs are enclosed and can’t escape. Also hot tub is nice and chillaxing for dry evening and sunny days. Would definitely go back in fact in the process of a sorting out dates for next year. Mr and Mrs Porter and Porter fur babies

  • "We had a fantastic time at Cefn farm."

The cottage was more than expected spotlessly clean. Everything we needed was on hand. With a little welcome package which was very nice.the owners were very helpfull and chatty when seen but not in your face. The cottage is very quiet and peaceful a great place as a base for touring the island and on returning the added bonus of the hot tub fantastic. My wife myself and our two little dogs really enjoyed the experience and will definitely be returning. A big thank you to the all concerned

  • "The cottage was a huge disappointment."

It was tired, dirty and smelt musty. There was damp patches on the bedroom ceiling , stains on the carpet and mould in the hot tub. The hot tub was cold on arrival and still cold when we left the following day at lunchtime. The blind in the living area would not close and dead spiders and other insects had taken up residence prior to our arrival. The property was advertised as a four star property and is misrepresented on the website. We left after one day despite paying for a week as we felt that we could not relax in the cottage in these conditions.

  • "The accommodation was an upgrade from a barn."

I like to think when I go on holiday and pay a premium to live, the accommodation and facilities are equal too or better than those which I have at home. My search parameters were hot tub and accepts pets. I understand this limits me somewhat as to where I can book. A booking was made with Cefn farm and this was eagerly looked forward too by me and my family. On arrival and at first glance all appeared well. As our stay progressed it turned out that there were many faults with the accommodation and facilities. I state the accommodation was weatherproof but that was about the only thing it had in it’s favour. The general presentation of the property was dirty and tatty. We have enjoyed our stay in Anglesey on the hole but this was not because of the accommodation. If you would like a more detailed list,I would gladly provide.

  • "We had a great week day-tripping around Anglesey from the cottage."

We had a very warm welcome from the owners. The cottage is in a great position for exploring all over Anglesey and is in a lovely secluded, quiet location. It was great watching the stars come out from the hot tub and we loved watching the jets set off from the nearby airstrip. Its a nice rustic spot and the boys liked watching the rabbits in the field and the horses from the stable. The main problem was the shower - it is only a hand held attachment that you cant have an actual 'hands free' shower under so washing our hair was a bit of a palaver and the boys managed to drown the floor every time. If you're happy with baths then it's fine. We don't have pets so we did notice the smell of dogs that had stayed in the cottage.

  • "This fantastic little cottage was perfect in helping us get away and relax last week, we were greeted and showed around by the owner who bought us some eggs, milk, biscuits and crisps and it was already stocked with tea and coffee, and then left us too it and did not pester us the whole time we were there."

We had one problem where the fire alarm in the spare room started to beep but as it was a sunday she couldn't do anything about it but on Monday whilst we were out she had fixed the problem. The views out the back of the cottage were stunning and we were visited most mornings at the back fence by one of their horses Polly who like to enjoy a bit of a fuss and have a scratch on the fence post and we also got to watch the jets take off and land at RAF Valley most days from the garden too. Everything was clean and tidy when we got there and they have a welcome pack with information on how everything works and places close by to go and eat. I have seen in other reviews that the hot tub is overlooked by the owners house and it is but only from one window that is very frosted so you still feel very private when you are in the tub. All in all we both loved the place and would definitely go there again and recommend it to others.

  • "The description of the cottage is not accurate, the living space is to small."

There is a sofa which sits two and two office like waiting room chairs. These is not something you expect when paying over £400. The cottage also allows to two dogs, it should be one big dog or two small dogs as there is inadequate space for 2 big dogs. Also the dog from the house next to the cottage kept escaping and pooing on the lawn of the cottage which we had to pick up our self. The cottage smelt of damp in bedrooms and bathroom. Brilliant location just let down by the cottage.

Located down a long gated driveway, this cosy, well-presented cottage is set on the edge of the village of Caergeiliog, on the gorgeous Isle of Anglesey and provides two delightful bedrooms and an open plan living area with sitting area, dining area and a fully-fitted kitchen.

The privately enclosed garden offers a secluded area to sit and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the area, where you can admire the country views to the lake, and with the added bonus of a wonderful hot tub, seating 4 people, you can relax and star gaze in a lovely rural setting.

Stables can be hired for guests wishing to have a 'horsey' holiday!

The local Cymyran Beach can be accessed within a two-mile drive or walk from this Caergeiliog cottage, plus the popular coastal village of Rhosneigr is nearby, from where you can look around the shops or have a drink in one of the coffee shops.

Cymyran offers excellent sea fishing and is regarded by many locals as one of the most beautiful beaches on Anglesey, where you will find 1.5 miles of unspoilt sandy beaches.

This Caergeiliog cottage is an excellent base for a family holiday, or romantic getaway, all year round.

About the location

CAERGEILIOG

Trearddur Bay 5 miles; Rhosneigr 8 miles.

The small village of Caergeiliog is situated close to the wonderfully scenic west coastline on the Isle of Anglesey, between Trearddur Bay and Rhosneigr, both of which are very popular seaside villages. The area is truly beautiful - a great sweep of low grassy coastline indented with rocky coves and fine sandy beaches (European Blue Flag and Green Coast Award). Watersports, bathing, fishing, sailing, windsurfing and plane spotting at RAF Valley are the main activities in the summer months, and golfers will enjoy two excellent 18 hole links golf courses. It's a great place for nature lovers, with renowned birdwatching at the South Stack Lighthouse RSPB Reserve and at Valley Lakes, as well as lots of rock pools and scenic cliff top walks to explore. There are shops, pubs and restaurants in nearby Rhosneigr and Trearddur Bay, plus Holyhead offers a wider range of amenities, including a very good leisure centre, an interesting harbour front, a marina, the world’s second longest breakwater and exciting day trips to Dublin on the fast ferry. A great location with plenty to see and do!
