  • "Just spent a wonderful week at this beautiful property."

The house is well equipped with some great added extras, loads of space and ample parking. The broadband wasn't working when we arrived due to recent bad weather in the area but this was dealt with and rectified swiftly by the owners. The property is centrally located for Caenarfon, Anglesey, activities and amenities and the views over the Menai Straits are stunning. We have booked to stay here again next year, thank you to the owners for a lovely stay ☺️

  • "The property looked great online and that was what we based our booking on."

However, on arrival the snug/games room smelled damp and musty, so we simply kept the doors closed for our weeks stay. The lounge fabric sofa was overdue a clean. The kitchen extension roof leaked every night in several areas so we had to mop the puddles on the floor every day. The downstairs shower room shower was not suitable for adults as the shower head height was so low. The overall cleanliness of the inside of the house was poor. Only having been supplied with 2 toilet rolls for a weeks stay was laughable. The rear garden had a table and chairs sofa set that was so green and filthy and saturated you couldn’t sit on it. The beanbags were equally filthy. The garden area was scruffy and needed a good clean and tidy. Overall the cottage was dilapidated and needed maintenance. The reason we didn’t report the leak into the kitchen during our stay was because the gutters and down pipes were missing or hanging off and the roof was covered in moss so this wouldn’t have been a quick fix and we didn’t want the disturbance during our break. We paid a substantial amount of money for our weeks stay and were disappointed in the property owners and Sykes Cottages as the listing stated outstanding property and it was far from that. We have rented numerous holiday lets but have never disappointed like this.

Thank you for your feedback. We are extremely disappointed that the property did not meet your expectations. However, I am pleased to be able to reassure you that the property is currently closed to undergo some major works to the exterior. This has required scaffolding to rectify the structural issue with the conservatory roof, which- during the intense recent weather conditions- had become extremely apparent. Unfortunately the inlet of water had caused the smell of damp, therefore the interior of the property is also being treated where necessary. The owner takes great pride in their property and is deeply upset by the reviews on cleanliness- this level of guest satisfaction is not what they strive to achieve and action has been taken to improve this. There is a gardener who attends fortnightly and a window cleaner monthly. Unfortunately, given the property's location backing onto green area to the rear and overlooking the sea, the natural environment may impact the exterior on occasion. The outdoor furniture has also been replaced, and a box to keep the removable cushions clean and dry. Although we cannot guarantee that our self-contained holiday lets will be a stock enough of items such as toilet paper, dishwasher tablets etc to get you through your entire stay, all properties are encouraged to provide a starter pack. To ensure guest satisfaction, your comments have been taken extremely seriously and acted upon. We are extremely sorry that you feel that you weren't able to reach out to our friendly team during the course of your stay. We are available to contact 24/7 to assist with any issues and will always work to come to an agreement (with minimal disturbance and inconvenience) to make good any aspects which may cause guests discontent during their stay. Thank you. Property Owner

  • "Thank you for a lovely stay."

We were so lucky to book with 2 days to go after another company double booked us! So we were so grateful to find an even nicer place in an excellent location. The view was beautiful and house was perfect for us. It was extremely clean and well looked after. We loved the hot tub and the children had fun on the PlayStation car. This was our first visit to stunning North Wales and we are missing it already! Thank you so much for a perfect stay.

  • "Excellent property, beautiful location."

Some of the glasses hadn’t been washed properly hence not full marks on cleanliness. But all in all a lovely break thank you.

  • "House was in a great location for where we wanted to visit and with good amenities."

Everything was easy to find and usable. The owners did not leave a contact number so we were unable to contact them whilst we were there but that didn’t detract from our stay .

  • "We had a fabulous week, the house is in a great position with lovely views."

It’s a great house for families with secure gardens and lots of space. There is a travel cot with mattress and highchair although not explicitly mentioned in the listing so it is well equipped. Perfect location to explore North Wales & Anglesey.

  • "Had a brilliant time."

The house has a lovely location and there was plenty of space for us all. Amazing PlayStation set up with a racing chair was an unusual but much appreciated bonus. Bedrooms comfortable and the hot tub was appreciated by all. Could do with a few more mugs and a new bottle opener please. I would highly recommend to anyone considering a visit to North wales.
