  • "My partner and I had a lovely stay in this property."

The views of the mountains from the cottage are stunning. It is based on a farm in a very peaceful location, perfect for exploring Anglesey and northern Wales (We went to the south stack lighthouse and also Aber falls, both of which I'd recommend), we loved being greeted by the farm dog everyday too! To get to any food or villages we did need to drive but we didn't mind that at all as it was very relaxing being away from everything. The bath in the room and the hot tub were an added luxury, we made use of them everyday. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious with the lounge area there too and the bedroom was very comfortable. we also made use of the shower which had no faults warm very quickly and a constant high pressure. It was the best little base in both the good and bad weather and I imagine if you had more people and joined the two next door properties together (an option I believe) it would work very well. 5 days was the perfect amount of time for us and I would definitely recommend the property.

  • "Disappointing."

Cottage has no private outdoor space as listed, simply a small table and chairs overlooking the carpark of the campsite. The inside of the property is lovely, but we were unable to use the hottub for the first 24 hours as we hadn't been left robes. When we asked about this we were told the laundry had not come back yet. That and being told the wetroom flood was probably due to hair in the drain were not useful comments to holiday makers who had paid for, and expected, all the elements of the listing to function. With a little more care in preparation, and an amended Sykes listing, this would make a great holiday let.

Thank you for your review. We apologised for omitting one robe from the cottage and delivered a clean one as soon as the laundry arrived the next morning. We immediately bought more robes so we won’t be left short again. The issue about the shower not draining adequately was sorted the morning after it was brought to our attention on your last night. We have taken your comments on board, and despite the above we hope you enjoyed your stay with us. Property Owner

The place was very clean and comfortable. From the kitchen we had views of Snowdonia in the distance. The private hot tub was great for an evening dip after being out all day. Added bonus was being greeted by the farm dog every morning. Would definitely recommend.

  • "We really really enjoyed our time at Sgubor."

It was exactly what we wanted and the place itself was even better than the pictures suggest, and they were lovely! It was so quiet and peaceful, we didn’t see another soul even though there are 2 other barn conversions next to ours. We had our own private hottub, which we made full use of! The place is on a working farm and the little working Collie would come and greet us every morning, which was a lovely added bonus! We will definitely be returning this summer and decided we would make it a little tradition of ours to stay at Sgubor each time. Thank you for a wonderful weekend!!

  • "This is a superb property in a great location."

We stayed in October and didn't need the log fire as it's so well insulated and comfortable (bit of a shame really as its an attractive feature). Lovely sized rooms, well equipped, clean and well presented, loads of hot water. Hot tub was lovely and private. Everything was faultless. Not sure if this is a critism or not (depends what you want) but we never met or even saw the owners during our 6 night stay. A little more of a welcome/guidance upon arrival would have been useful. Overall, loved our stay and we would highly recommend this property and the location.

  • "Lovely property finished to a really high standard, a real touch of luxury in the lovely Anglesey countryside."

We had a wonderful stay and loved the location in the centre of the island close to the A55 making all parts a maximum of 20mins drive. The barn conversion has been done superbly well with a quality finish all around and one of the best wet rooms I have ever seen. I would expect the property to remain really warm in winter given the modern insulation and double glazing. We had a couple of windy days with gusts of up to 40mph and no drafts, though there was wind noise in the living area as its 'upstairs'. The living area has the French doors facing Snowdonia which are the only view available as the other two windows in the room are at almost floor level because of the roofline. Though located on a farm the front of the barn faces the large grass area and the next 'field' contains the yurts so no obvious farmyard scenes. Behind the building is a open barn that contains mainly machinery so no risk of farmyard animal noises or smells. Despite our visit coinciding with the first week of the school holidays we found the roads very quiet compared to the south of England and a real pleasure to drive around the island. Superb sandy beaches, particularly at Newborough on the south coast. Also easy access to Snowdonia and the attractions of the North Wales coast. All in all a great place to stay.

  • "The property was lovely and comfortable."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the property. It was also ideally located being in a quiet location but not too far from Llangefni for shopping etc, and centrally located on Anglesey giving easy access to all parts of the island, which is just what we wanted. I would strongly recommend staying at this property, we had no issues with our stay in it.
