  • "A gem of a place - great location, comfortable property and everything thought of to make a perfect stay!"

  • "The Anchorage is a superbly equipped and well presented property located on the edge of the Lobster Pot complex."

The accommodation provides all the facilities needed for a multi gen holiday, with a spacious porch for coats, shoes, and beach gear and a comfortable bright open plan living area. The separate utility room is a bonus as are the ample bathroom/shower facilities which enable privacy and comfort for all. I cannot fault the facilities and the location for Church Bay cannot be bettered. Worth a visit is the Wavecrest cafe, which offers an excellent menu and superb customer care, but limited opening hours. Guests are given a discount at the Lobster Pot restaurant but booking at least 24 hours in advance (even for lunch) is essential, the price point and portion sizes do not correlate and the staff are edgy and inflexible. Far better to use the very well appointed kitchen at the Anchorage and enjoy the sunsets over Church Bay from the private walled and gated garden at the front with a glass of wine and a BBQ! Waking up to the sea views from the double bedrooms at the front is good for the soul. The owners are charming and helpful, there is private parking (needed in high season) but extra care does need to be taken with small children and dogs as the road to Church Bay is busy and there are some large commercial vehicles moving around. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the Anchorage for location, comfort, facilities and overall presentation - and of course the stunning cliff top walks on the doorstep.

  • "Feedback for Menai cottages!"

!! I phoned to check if there was a hairdryer at the house and things like tea towels, dishwashing liquid, tablets tinfoil etc and was told there wasn’t and to bring some as they didn’t want us to be disappointed when we arrived. I duly bought all the necessary items to find a hairdryer plus a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed and more. It needed to be added to the house listing that there is everything needed there required to make a very comfortable and pleasant stay. The beds were extremely comfortable too. Only thing was the second double room was very narrow to pass by the bed and the toilet in the en-suite was very cramped. Perhaps a TV in that room like there is in the other double room?

We (family of 8) had a lovely 3 night New Year break. We were very pleased to see the Christmas tree

  • "A beautiful large cottage."

Warm and cosy, excellent location, close to the beach. Ensuite showers with excellent water pressure, plus a house bathroom with a bath, for those who prefer a good soak. Excellent seating provision in the lounge area, kitchen very well equipped. Baking trays for the oven would be a suggestion for pizza cooking, and we couldn't locate a hoover, we did mention it to the owner, but one wasn't forthcoming, we did sweep and mop round, downstairs, though before we left. But would have liked to hoover the upstairs, and the rugs downstairs, to remove any debris from tge rugs from our one, well behaved dog. Would definitely recommend this cottage, really warm in the autumn/winter months, very quiet location.

  • "Excellent house big and comfortable enough for 2 families."

Great location a few minutes walk from Beach. Good Wi-Fi and Sky Netflix TV. Certainly warm enough for winter use. Gales straight off the Irish sea add to the atmosphere. No local shop so stock up at big Tesco on the way in. We will certainly return.

Photos did not do it justice. Fantastic location. Owner kindly left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy. Owner happy to accommodate our 3 bikes too. Couldn't have been better.

Some of cookware needs replacing. No firewood provided. A pint of milk would have been more use than a bottle of wine.

  • "Spacious accommodation, large enough for 8, two family groups to spread out and enjoy."

Everything you could need is provided. Friendly host. Lovely surroundings, lovely cafe and restaurant nearby and a pub within walking distance albeit uphill (but the view is worth it). We loved it.

Marvellous location, very good accommodation. Niggles - widow in twin bedroom wont open; central heating system on 'timed' had a mind of its own; uptairs toilet seat insecure. Description should make clear the property is adjacent to a working unit with lorries and vans delivering throughout the day

  • "Lovely to be so close to the beach and the Lobster Pot."

Cottage well equipped. Central heating not easy to set and no info in the brochure about set timings. Lashings of hot water and good pressure in showers. Ensuite bathrooms could not be smaller and bed in second double bedroom very tight. Minimal space to walk through.

  • "4 generations stayed very happily in this spacious accommodation."

It was so close to the beach you could just nip back if you needed anything. The beach was perfect and not overly crowded. We only used the car once during our stay to go out to a restaurant as The Lobster Pot was fully booked until the end of August! The café was lovely too. Everyone we came across was very friendly. The garden is relatively small but worked for us with a 3 year old as completely enclosed. However, we did bring our own fold away chairs which made it a more flexible space. My daughter is planning to return with another family next year (if we are lucky we might be included too!) It was a lovely, gentle, heart warming family holiday.

  • "The photographs do not do the cottage justice, it is a really lovely property in an excellent location and beautifully decorated with a fresh and clean seaside/nautical style decor."

It is so much bigger than we expected, the bedrooms are all a good size, plenty of bathrooms and the living areas are so lovely and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need. We were lucky enough to get plenty of sunshine so made use of the garden at the front, plenty of space for 5 adults to BBQ, eat and relax in.

  • "The Anchorage is a fabulous house situated minutes from the most beautiful beach and with amazing views from the bedrooms."

Very well equipped, immaculately clean and comfortable. Only minor negative was lack of outdoor space - eg we were unable to bbq. Would suggest some warning signage for commercial lorries and other vehicles entering the car park to access the Lobster Pot Business area which sometimes entered the combined holiday home/restaurant car park at speed from the road.
